Hello guys, here's a longer video about the 435 john deere round baler with surface net wrap.
There are chapters so feel free to skip around.
I filmed this June 2021 but due to computer & internet issues and lack of hours in the day, its being posted September 2021. Hope it helps, thanks for watching.

You did a good job dialing in that baler, it looks like you have a sound machine there now. I bought a thermal thermometer I can easily stand on the ground with and point the laser at the different bearings and read their temperatures with on mine. Takes maybe 60 seconds to walk around the baler and check the temps on all the bearings. It gives accurate readings to within 10 degrees or so. I check them if I have to stop for any reason when baling and after baling the last bale of the day. Lets a person keep a good feel on how the bearings are holding up and hopefully give an alert before one gets bad enough that it becomes a critical problem. Theres nothing like a John Deere Baler they make nice tight dense bales.

Someone had an issue with starting a bale. That's what the rebar is. A little extra traction to get the bale rolling.

Would that be in corn stalks or something else? I've never had issues with grass hay or alfalfa with the old 435 that didn't have them.

@@AndyFromm , tall long material, yes, the 35 series did have trouble starting a bale. Canex or Sweet sorghum is where I fought problems on a 535. Solution for me was slobber bubble gum welds in between the bars instead of welding rebar on the bars. I wonder if that has anything to do with those 2 belts a bit boogered up.

@@notelling8240 Interesting 🤔 could be. This one seems to beat on the belts some with that roller, I never noticed it on my old one. Thanks

@@AndyFromm My 535 was hard to start Bales in really stalky weeds and all I had to do was raise the pickup up about an inch or so. Never had an issue again. The 35 series balers seem to be pretty good old balers.

Probably around 8mph is tops I do with the baler, alot of time is slower in the rough ditches

Looks like someone stole your Switch, easiest to remove,,, I brought a 435 from an old farm that just pasted away, will be selling it No net rap or kicker.. The baler only bales a few thousand bales, small farmer .. still has paint on rollers and belts..

I'll have to keep that in mind if I burn this one up, I sure hope that don't happen... Thanks 👍
