💫✨ WoW!!! 😯 I NEVER knew that Chris Jasper played bass & guitar 🎸 on some of the songs from the studio albums! 📀 I wish he listed a few of them; I’d enjoy listening with an enlightened perspective… As mentioned, this was such a Gr8 video! 💯 Thank you much, Dr “Turk” Logan! 😄 💫✨

Always been a fan, good to see him recognized. Most important point made is that FUNK IS NOT DEAD! Support local musicians....you have new players out there as well as Ol' Skoolerz jammin'. So sad the majority of the country dont get to hear anything but uptown junk......

It has always amazed me; thus, you have earlier experienced musicians - artists who already know the 'pitfalls' within entertainment contracts; yet, typically do not give incoming artists the 'lowdown' or advice on how they should initiate and/or finalize contracts.

the 3 younger Isleys (Chris Jasper; Ernie; and Marvin) did most of the writing once they joined the 3 older brothers. One thing about the Isley Brothers was that no matter who actually wrote the song, all 6 would get writing credit for it.

FOR THE LOVE OF YOU...is a m- piece, all about timin and humility, though full of grease, anyways....
    And,yes, it's a keybooooardist tune.
I always had the notions that the cousins were more the music creators than the (great) vocalist.

I you look at the Isley's history, they were singers, including Ronald. The younger one's, Marvin, Ernie and Chris, were musicians. They brought the FUNK. Ronald and Chris molded the singing to that funk sound. Hence, The Isley's career took off like a rocket in the 70's. The Isley's were already established and moderately successful, as singers. The sound took them over the top.

HOW THE FUNK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD IS FIGHTING TO KEEP ITS LEGACY ALIVE IN DAYTON OHIO!
    Stephen StarrJUN 19 2019.
When Dayton’s The Funk Music Hall of Fame & Exhibition Center - aka TheFunkCenter - opened in December 2017, locals delighted in it marrying a proud musical tradition with hope for the revival of a city long down on its luck. Built to celebrate the Ohio city’s reputation as ground zero of the funk world, the center drew volunteers and experts from the Netherlands, Japan and the U.K. and superstar names from Dayton’s 1970s and ’80s funk scene, who pieced together the decades-old instruments, records and memorabilia on display. Tickets to the opening ceremony sold out in days.

In the 70s, The Isley Brothers sounded liked Hard Rock. It was Ernie Isley's guitar licks did it. From the 80s on, The Isleys were more Funk, Disco, then Slow and Smooth R & B. Funk dominated the 70s, HARD, and as I this discussion, you had to have rhythm.

@@patp2690 That is TRUE. Sis. Rosetta Tharpe back in 1938 was rocking on an electric guitar with her song "Rock Me" when Elvis was only 3 years old. After her came folks like Charlie Christian, Ike Turner, Wynonie Harris, Louis Jordan, Besse Smith, Big Mama Thornton, and so many others. ALL genres of music (including Country, Bluegrass, Punk, Classical, Heavy Metal) come from US. Peace.

    FUNK MEMORABILIA.
    Hey Funk Fans!,
The Funk Music Hall of Fame & Exhibition Center (TheFunkCenter) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Funk music. We are accomplishing this goal through establishing a museum to display a variety of memorabilia from past and current Funk musicians. We would welcome any memorabilia you could contribute as an in-kind contribution to the museum.
We are looking for musical instruments, programs, costumes worn on stage, sheet music or any other artifact that exemplifies your experience as a part of this vibrant music genre.
TheFunkCenter is also creating a youth music program that will help replace the arts programs removed from public schools. We know that you are all accomplished musicians, and we want the youth to understand that you got that way through hard work and studying until you had mastered your voice or instrument. We are asking you to be a part of this dream by volunteering your time when possible for a Masters Series of lectures for our participants. Whether your role is on stage performing, or behind the scenes, we want our students to understand the whole array of performing arts through your stories.
    Sincerely
    David R Webb Sr
