Mini Summary: Why study four hours? (the benefits) * Four hours is the maximum time your brain can do deep work. * Studying in a single session, preferably in the morning, offers free time for the rest of the day to entertain yourself, engage in different tasks and hobbies, thus improving motivation. What to Do Before These Sessions: *Charge your brain by doing something refreshing before studying to be most productive. Like taking a nap. *Change the location of your studying to refresh yourself and because of sunk cost fallacy i.e. when people continue doing something because they spent their time on it. * Have a clear goal and plan for your session as it results in decision fatigue. How to Stay Focused During These Sessions: * Prepare sticky notes to note your thoughts that can distract you. * Differentiate between tasks that involve randomness, like researching for an essay, and tasks that do not involve randomness, like writing an essay. * Eliminate distractions like your phone from interuppting your workflow. * Study at your own pace and what feels like progress to you.
Your Video is what i needed tonight to go peacefully to sleep. I studied for 6 hours in the library for my CS Studies and it is exactly as you said, after 4 hours i was not as productive as in the first 4 hours. I felt frustrated and sad because of that and your video helped me to overcome this feeling.
i have a big exam coming in 3 months. And i havent been regular in studies so from this month start ill be pushing myself for atleast 15 hours a day of studying. Though it's going to be hard because im not used to of it but lets see. Thank you for this video!
i had a exam for which i studied for weeks, every day, approximately 10 hours, and i was only able to get a grade of 7 out of 10. i'm very discouraged because i feel that my effort was not enough and i expected better results even though i knew that i felt prepared. i'm in the process of moving forward and raising my average, but it is very sad when you realize that due to a silly mistake all your effort is not reflected in a number.
if you have ADHD, work on getting diagnosed, I went from flunk to being able to complete all my homework and take on extra assignments, its like instead of your brian snacking on a bunch of little ideas, you can focus on one big meal and actually chew your food(ideas). you don't have to struggle there is help and medication that can help. bonus is all the coping mechanisms you have acquired as a crutch for your adhd become superpowers.

Few minutes ago I study to improve my programming skills at beginner level and it was for 1 and half hour. Then suddenly I found your YT notification titled with this engaging productive improvement sense ,I open YT and watched your video. Is it good thing because I got distracted . Help me ❤😅
I love your video, it gave me better ideas on how to use productively rest at the same time. I also have questions: 1. How can you be productive if you're stuck in one topic the whole 4 hrs? 2. Is it even possible to study multiple topics in 1 sitting in the whole 4 hrs? Thank you!
Well generally put your phone somewhere in say another room. Avoids distractions. Also I would just prepare whatever in advance. Finally I'd would have a combination of both old and new approaches. Have more than one modality.
Thank you for this, i just failed a test today because it was difficult grammar of a language ive only spent 3 years studying. Now i know how i can improve for next time!!
Im actually very very curious, i managed to try your tips for my mid year exams, and i got a 93/100 in my Math subject which was ASTONISHING, as Math has always been my weakest subject in my life. Do you listen to music? If so what kind/type?
I scored low in maths high school I use to be good at maths but I neglected it , now I have thought of improving maths before uni and I will study maths 4hr everyday
It's nice video mam, I have one drawback mam. I have strong in my maths and physics, chemistry subjects but I was very weak in my language and some other subjects so how i can develop my self and is there any tips mam ?
wow i would like to try your method, lot of people recommend pomodoro but i get easily distracted while the rest hours so i hope your long focusing method works for me❤
I'm studying in 11th grade in high school in India. Do u think ur studying techniques and/or the duration of the study sessions can be applied for competitive exam prep(JEE).
Your videos are raw and real from fork mic to unsettled hairs but more than that your advices are real and i realised i am doing majority of the above tips already....
As long as you remember to switch courses during the course of those four hours, and try to achieve like 2 to 3 courses studied within those four hours. Trying to absorb one course for four hours is not beneficial to your brain.
This is why i prefer studying with no breaks instead of the pomodoro technique, it breaks your focus just when you are entering the flow state and then after the time is up and you take your 5 minute break it's soo hard to get back to studying because that flow state is broken it breaks your focus just when you are in the deepest stage of concentration
Fork mic is awesome 😂
Your videos are made through your experiences. So the methods you suggest work for majority of the people who are watching your videos!
not following your point...

15??!!! That's too much but all the best I guess sorry for disturbing
You won’t get very far with that strat. Spaced repetition and quizzing will go further. Make sure you’re studying right, not just studying hard
JEE right? Same here, we can share our progress here if u want to
@@pseudoki I assume it's JEE, so he has to complete like 76 chapters, from three subject, so yeah, quite less time.
Same here
Today I tried this method and it works!
