    Brian: Your video saved me from a nervous breakdown. I'm mechanically pretty savy but my pump rebuild was driving me crazy. I got a complete parts kit but somehow (either being distracted) who knows. My friend and I were stumped as too where the hard seals go and how to install. Your very paced video immediately resonated and I went to my garage and rebuilt my 9.6ga 12 2.8gpm in minutes. I owe you one!

    This video was so incredibly helpful. We were able to rebuild our pressure washer pump, following your video. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and thorough video!
    Oh, and by the way.........we purchased our pressure washer as a "refurbished" unit from a big box store. The pressure washer started leaking right away, and we took it (under warrantee) to be fixed by a small engine repair shop. The mechanic didn't fix it, and unfortunately we were told that the company (dewalt) would not do anything more to help us. Watching your video, we completely fixed our pressure washer by ourselves!

    Hello Brian! Thanks for the video! Its very helpful for just getting an understanding of how each pump operates and how it is put together. The problem I am having is when I connected the hose to the pump and turned the water on, no water came out of the output side!? So something is stuck. I thought it was either the crappy intergrated unloader valve or the valves so I decided to pop the valves out which came out in pieces. Problem im having is the plastic cage spring and thin metal spring base came out but not the main valve seat and o-ring it is stuck down in there and not sure how to get it out!!? Any tips would be very helpful!! Its the same 8.7ga12 pump thats in the video and now I can see why you dont work on them! I own several general pumps from direct drive to belt and they are pretty easy to work on. This smaller machine I need for lower water pressure so I dont damage my nicer machines. It's run for 10 years now until this issue. I just have no idea how to remove whats left of that valve!!

    I have the 530008 pump on mine and its leaking oil from the pump between the pump and engine. It's the pump leaking for sure. Not the engine. Can the seal be replaced on the pressure pump crankshaft? If so, do you know what kit I need to order that has the seal in it? Thank you for the video. Very informative.

  • @G5Hohn
    @G5Hohn ปีที่แล้ว

    I used your video to replace the seals check valves in mine, but when I started it back up, water was spraying out of the cracked pump body. I can only conclude the unloader failed let it overpressure.
    I'm not spending any more effort on this garbage pump. I'm replacing with a CAT triplex.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not likely that a failed unloader would cause this. High pressure equipment is test to endure 3 times the rated amounts. The engine can't produce enough energy for the pump to create that kind of pressure. The engine would choke of at about 5500 psi. Well below the force needed to crack the head.
      For the head to crack, it would have to exceed well beyond what the engine can produce.
      A frozen pump would definitely cause this to happen. Freezing water can exceed 100,000 psi.
      Not saying your pump froze, but that is the typical reason.

    • @G5Hohn
      @G5Hohn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Brian_the_repair_guy I think you are correct but the crack being from a freeze (I can't say I'm 100% sure I winterized it every year). But I never actually saw the crack or any leakage until I fiddled with the unloader and cranked the pressure way up.
      I suspect the unloader was the reason it couldn't build pressure (like ZERO pressure, no pulsation, nothing), but that a freeze was the reason for the crack.

      @@Brian_the_repair_guy Yeah, I think that's what happened. Hairline crack from freeze, but didn't open up to visible until I fiddled with the unloader. Lesson learned-- never forget winterization!

    I know I am late to the party but just found your video. If the valves were bad would that prohibit any water flow? I've taken everything apart and seems to function properly but no water comes out of outlet

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess a stuck valve could cause a no flow, never seen that one myself. If you have no water flow out of the pump, typically it is due to a blockage at the fitting of the unloader. You have the quick connect and there is a fitting between it and the unloader. There is a valve in there. You will find a piece that looks like a bullet and a spring. The bullet will have an Oring on the end and there is holes in the side and it is hollow. Make sure it is all clean

    Hello Brian, I have a Dewalt 3000 psi Honda GX160 engine. I don't notice any pressure lose or leaks yet, but the oil is milky in the oil fill glass, is it just a matter of time before I do ? should i just go ahead and replace the pump with a AR pump ? Could you recommend a AR pump ? Great video !

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, matter of time. You have a couple options.
      Least expensive option, drain and flush pump crank, replace oil seals and refill with oil.
      Second option is replace the pump with an AR like you said and that will remove any doubts.
      Watercannon.com has a good selection of AR pumps for that engine and pretty good pricing. Any of the AR pumps that fit that engine would be a good choice.

But At first it show a leak exactly where you did the changes but then after it changed course an became a sprinkler at the that particular small valve. Do you recommend if I should check if any adjustments need to be made with the unloader? Would appreciate a reply back. I know for sure it’s a simple task for a female to solve. 😊
