I understand that ur lonely but you still need to know everything about your dog breed and how you should train it. So many people buy a puppy now bc they are lonely and then they realize that it’s too much work for them so they sell their puppy pretty fast. Please don’t buy a puppy or a dog just bc ur lonely. Do some research first, be 100% sure that you can handle all that work.

What is sad is that the consensus among trainers is to take your eight week old puppy outside to go potty, without taking into consideration the extreme threat of Parvo and distemper, most puppies at 8 weeks old have NO immunity as most have only received one vaccine which cancels the antibodies they received from their Dam's milk. Please do not listen to this terrible advise. Do not allow them to go outside use pads inside the house, it will NOT teach them to continue to go to the bathroom in your house! I've raised show dogs and they were intelligent enough to dual train, if the pad was down they used it if not they rang a bell to go outside.
She says in another video to have a special place outside with a pin around it to keep other animals and dogs away so that it will keep them safe until they've fully been vaccinated

That's b3en a mistak3 for us letting him in full house but 1 floor at a time always around even if can't keep eye on fully mostly As for th3 rope toys pet store said they just digest and eliminate out the tassles He likes the toy in more so worried bout colored dye but then figured white 1s could be bleached it also doesn't shed the toy nor the p9mi but I think he may get fluffier so semi unpredictable breed but getting there We got him at like 3 months old
What do you think I should do instead of puppy pads in the crate? I don’t necessarily want him to sit in pee all night. Is it fine to put them there just for the first couple of days?
This was very helpful! I'm going to get a puppy in the next few months but I will be moving at the end of the summer. I'll have way more time to spend with the puppy during the summer (training and such before school and work starts up again) but I don't want to traumatize the puppy by moving it so young. Lola The cookailre yes that’s what my problem is like for example bully sticks are not good for puppy’s and she promotes them. Treats are also not very good and you should honestly never use them. Tug a war and chase games make mean puppy’s and she also promotes them
Warrior Cats OC art we’ll be carful with treats and tug a war just creates a mean puppy because it brings out there natural hunting instinct cause your fighting them. You can do what you want to your dog but that’s just what my breeder told us lol

I can picture the dog coming home from a long day at work, making dinner for the humans, and kicking back to relax while watching his favorite shows. I bet his favorite show is a Charlie Brown cartoon... who doesn't love that super smart Snoopy?
How To Train A Dream Dog the house also belongs to the dog, I do believe in showing more of the house to the dog as they get older but the house is just as much the dogs. House as yours. They live there and they’re part of ur family so it isn’t fair to not call it there home as well just because they can’t do things humans do.

Have you ever tried or heard of coffee wood chews? They are supposed to be safe but I'm not sure. My older puppy (a year) doesn't like Yak or benebone that much, few minutes but loves sticks which aren't good for him. Thanks
Personally, we have not tried the particular "coffee wood." However, we do recommend offering a wood chew for pups who are attracted to things like chair legs, etc. This is a healthy way to give them a proper outlet for a texture they may be searching for! The major concern with wooden chews is that they can sometimes be a bit too hard, causing a pup to chip/break a tooth. Emergency veterinary visits are never fun, for you or your pup!

Here in Sweden there is a law that forbids a dog to stay in a crate more than 3 minutes. AND THERES A REASON FOR THAT!!!! The dog gets anxious and stressed!! Please use a puppy pen instead!❤️❤️🐶🐶
It's best to block off access to the space where the cords are. Be sure to tuck them securely behind things that your puppy can't fitthrough or around.
That's normal! We suggest you resist the urge to doctor up your puppy’s food. If he’s not eating he may be overwhelmed (especially if he’s new to your home), he may have sore gums, an upset stomach or he may be holding out for something better. Puppy kibble contains the most nutrients and we don't want to teach our puppies that if they don’t eat, they get something better next time. When it’s mealtime, put down the food for 10-15 minutes. Then pick up any remaining food and make it part of the next meal but don’t give more than the normal amount (only give what the normal portion would be). All dogs are food motivated, but it might take a few meals for them to get the idea that they should eat what is served at the time it is served. We have an open floor plan between LR, kitchen, DR & Carolina Room so can’t block puppy to one room. My husband will Not use a playpen but have bought a crate that looks like a end table. There are electric cables which I cannot remove because they are attached to the stand light, router, etc. They are on the floor as well. How can I protect them from my dog?

I will be getting a chihuahua puppy that I will train as my service dog. I live in a large apartment complex so I’m problem solving around potty training. I’ve owned chihuahuas before, but at that time the co-owner was abusive (to me, primarily) and used the dogs to manipulate and control. Now I live alone, and this puppy will be mine, alone. Hello Michele. First time viewer here and I think I'm gonna stick around 😉 Our Berner pup is arriving in two weeks so I'm quite anxious and a bit scared. It will be my first pup ever and I want everything to go as perfect as can be. So my question is: is the playpenn mandatory for educating a pup? We have a living room of approx 24 m2 and in your vid you state that the more room a pup has, the more risk there might be for a weewee accident.
I have set up the playpen and crate for our 8 weeks puppy. While we haven't had any major accidents at home so far and in the crate, he has peed a few times in his playpen. Any tips on how to fix this behavior? While he is comfortable using the crate for naps and at night for sleeping, he only wants to remain in the playpen or crate for 15 mins while playing.
A dog or puppy does actually not know the words you say. They can only tell by your emotions. Like try this: Pertant to be angry and say" I love u sweetie". Try it!
Great videos by the way, i will be getting a puppy in the next few weeks, one question about this video is, what do you when your house is very much open plan, would you use say a spare bedroom as the room to start with? and then gradually let them into the kitchen/living area (open plan)

There are electric cables which I cannot remove because they are attached to the stand light, router, etc. They are on the floor as well. How can I protect them from my dog?

@@HowToTrainADreamDog thank you for your reply. Our dog is a 1year and 7 months old rescue dog. So far she hasn’t show any interest in books, shoes, electric cord, furnitures. Hopefully she will stay the way she is.

I will be getting a chihuahua puppy that I will train as my service dog. I live in a large apartment complex so I’m problem solving around potty training. I’ve owned chihuahuas before, but at that time the co-owner was abusive (to me, primarily) and used the dogs to manipulate and control. Now I live alone, and this puppy will be mine, alone. Since the dog will always be with me, some of the things you are talking about will be different. Thank you for good content.
and one more thing, do I need to worry about my puppy drinking toilet cleaner chemicals if they are a Havanese breed? (they are small dogs)
Hello Michele. First time viewer here and I think I'm gonna stick around 😉 Our Berner pup is arriving in two weeks so I'm quite anxious and a bit scared. It will be my first pup ever and I want everything to go as perfect as can be. So my question is: is the playpenn mandatory for educating a pup? We have a living room of approx 24 m2 and in your vid you state that the more room a pup has, the more risk there might be for a weewee accident.
I have set up the playpen and crate for our 8 weeks puppy. While we haven't had any major accidents at home so far and in the crate, he has peed a few times in his playpen. Any tips on how to fix this behavior? While he is comfortable using the crate for naps and at night for sleeping, he only wants to remain in the playpen or crate for 15 mins while playing.

A dog or puppy does actually not know the words you say. They can only tell by your emotions. Like try this: Pertant to be angry and say" I love u sweetie". Try it!
