    You and Frank's brotherhood never fails to put a smile on my face. It gets me thinking about the stories of my dad, his dad and all their regulars sitting around Pa's old auto shop drinking coffee and telling stories every morning.

    I truly appreciate you showing this I had no idea that bacon should be made in a day; if I heard right but I know my uncles they use a food grade bucket or tote tray cure their bacon he never trust me plastic bag method

    I’ve been hunting and trapping wild hogs most of my adult life and never took the time to cut the bacon off. I just left it on the ribs. Well, that ends today! Thanks for the information, sir!💪🏽😎👍🏻

    Let me tell you what I did wrong- I used pickling curing salt- I got a nice pork roast(?), I covered it in salt and placed on a bed of salt and covered putting it all in a large container- I put it in the back of my fridge. (march2022) I got the flu- after 3 weeks I felt better, then flu again- by that time it was planting , harvest, work seasons🥳, I just opened this mound of salt covered pork. September 7, 2022-( 7 months!)🤯😱🤯It smells like nothing! I washed it off, resulted it. Put back in the fridge. Now what??

      It’s probably too salty to eat without taking some salt out. Do that by slicing it up and soaking it in cold water for a couple hours. If it’s still too salty, keep soaking it till it’s edible.

    I have been hunting the same property in Central Texas for 30 years and very rarely seen a hog but now, this year my hunting buddy says there are plenty so im about to go kil a couple and do some wild hog bacon

    Boy I miss fresh bacon, that store stuff just don't compare.
    We don't butcher hogs any more , I do miss bacon and fresh sausage. No wild hogs around us that free range. Would have to pay to hunt them on a farm.
