@matty d Your comment is now the ripe old age of one year……… do you still stand by that? Because there have been plenty of bare grocery store shelves locally and we haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s coming.

You have no reason to watch fertilizer prices….. but if you did, and knew what it meant for the stores, you would be getting prepared now. In one year I’ll check back in with you and see if you have reconsidered the need for preparedness 😉

I'm as country as a turnip green and never knew you could make bacon from a wild pig. Do you ever sugar cure smoke bacon 🥓 that would be awesome. Thanks for the info

The way you smoked the wild pig is same with us and the color of wild hog bacon is so beautiful .its so yammy to cook such meat with green pepper &garlic sprouts。BTW I am from china. I have to say that the tongue /ear/organ and foot of pig are more delicious than the meat of pig.well done

You can also cook it uncured as freshside which a lot of people have never tried and thats what we grew up eating with fried potatoes and beans

I'm a little late to the conversation but I just subscribed to your channel. Really enjoy the content. I wanted to share a hog skinning tip with you. You may already know about it but here it is just in case. Go get a razor knife and put in a hooked roofing blade. Instead of just cutting between the legs and down the belly like normal also make vertical cuts ever 4 or 5 inches all the way around the hog. Basically making hide strips instead of one solid hide. Then peel the hog like you are peeling a banana. Way easier and saves the edge on your skinning knife.
