I do use that trill key - (example) it helps Saint-Saens's clarinet sonata, 4th movement, a little bit. Your caption really highlight the concept and must be very helpful for many followers.
Always an excellent video. I was talking about starting the air before tongueing today, with a student. I like how u explained it. I’ll try your words this week
@@callyclarinet I have them breathe in time, set (embouchre set, blowing air, but tongue stopping air) We do that a few times Then that plus release tongue. Maybe that’s too much explaining and steps. I’ll try telling them to blow ahead of tongueing. Most young students seem to blow and tongue and set all at the same time, and get a sloppy attack
Sounds Flutey! Nice work! Love the channel! Just discovered the channel Cally! Bravo!
LOL thank you, Flute Channel!!! I aspire to work up to your level of TH-cam / internet greatness some day!

ah >< this is that one occasion to use that thrill key....and mine is non-functional
Noooooo!!!! Is it stuck??
@@callyclarinet ^^" I was too lazy to change the pad...and just stuffed the hole tight...guess it's time to fix it...
Hi Luke!! I’m so glad Luke decided to participate today!! 💕🐱
Is that a Hercules Bass Clarinet stand I see??!
Yes 💪
@RickRogers You're interested in bass clarinet stands? I'm more interested in the instrument itself and especially who's playing 🤔
I've been trying to get Luke to try it but all he wants to do is put his face in the bell... I guess I'll have to play it instead 😎
😄
I feel like I'm never going to get this good 😢

Thanks Cathy, I hope it helps. What is your method for explaining the concept? I could use another perspective in my bag of teaching tricks 🙂
