I loved the food on my MSC cruise. I usually cruise Royal and I’m not a fan of their food because it’s very cafeteria. MSC food was authentic Mediterranean that was amazing to me. Butchers Cut gave us a meal we will never forget and still talk about 4 years later. If your a buffet person you might not like MSC food but if you like to dress up and enjoy fine dining your going to fall in love. The chocolate on board is amazing! If you like real sugary sweet desserts then you will be disappointed because their desserts are full of flavor without being pure sugar. I’m planning a new MSC cruise now. I love the relaxing atmosphere and everyone was very kind.
I agree, i wasnt a fan of royal carribean food, but love msc..however, i am european..maybe a reason why i am a big lover of all sorts of breads, cheese and cold cut meats
Just sailed on Seascape in January and besides the bar being understaffed service was amazing. Also liked that I could get drinks for me and my wife without her present. Agreed the breakfast buffet, definitely better than carnival
I usually take a travel straw with me while traveling. Princess had those paper straws that I did not like. So, I just use my own. It folds up and doesn't take up much room.
Although we have only been on the Davina, we thought the food was great. One thing we absolutely love is the number of passengers who are not Americans! It is always fun to compare ideas and cultures.
Good to get another review of MSC food. Most of the complaints I’ve heard concerning MSC involve the food. We were disappointed in the food and choices, especially in the buffet, on our recent Carnival Mardi Gras cruise. Not the quality we have previously experienced. Maybe they are trying to pay off that 30 Billion dollars in debt.

Just got off of the Carnival Liberty and the food was ehhhh. And, I am the cruiser that lovesssss food! I saw the MSC ship in port and it made me curious! Their prices are really great as well. Thank you for this review. I am booking and look forward to trying.

We sailed the Meraviglia Dec 2022 for 3 nights and enjoyed it. Had seen/heard many reviews about the food and service being subpar. We thought the food was good, not great. The service was fine with us as well, not over the top but good enough. The prices can’t be beat and the ships are beautiful. We actually booked a 7 night out of Miami on the new Seascape for Christmas this year so we are excited for that. We will probably try some specialty dining options for this upcoming cruise. 🎉🎉
Just came back from Dubai and MSC World Europa yesterday. We have been om many cruises and most of them on MSC. There is a slight downgrade on everything, as has been noted by many, and it is over all cruise lines, not only MSC. This is mainly because of the slow going during and after the pandemic that has put the cruise lines on a diet to increase their earnings. This will hopefully not be permanent and that the competition between the cruise lines will bring back more of the perks offered before. With this said I can comment on the food in Yacht club, as we did spend the cruise in this experience. The Yacht club has its own restaurant and a grill at the pool area. For the restaurant we ate there for dinner. The food is good even though for my taste it was little bland. At the grill, where we always take breakfast and lunch, there was no buffé as the has been on the other ships (Yach club) but a set selection, on display, and it was the same every day. It was no downgrade on the food as it made on demand, freshly made, such as tenderloin beef, prawn skewers, fish such as salmon and halibut but also a 150 gram Angus beef burger. All tasty, but I missed the opportunity pick for myself (maybe I am picky) and it left a lot of waste being a "standard" serving. As being in Yacht club you have the premium drink package included. The wines are good (as well as the included champagne ) but there were som issues with availability. Talked to he sommelier and she said that she just got a crate of wines and she had no opportunity to add to the content as she wanted to influence the wine list to the menu served. I also heard the there was a problem of getting the wines as they seems to be logistic issues as well as availability issues. On the bar menu several wines and spirits were not available. This is quite annoying as they are listed which makes the bar menu more extensive than it is. We did go to a speciality restaurant as one is included if you are diamond member. It is the tasting meny and it does not include everything listed on the menu. Some items you need to pay extra for. I believe that this the same on all the dining packages you buy, so beware of this if you take a dining package and look at the menus as it can become more expensive than anticipated. The service is good and friendly, everyone does their best. Mishaps you can blame on management and training. It is an Italian ship with Italian management, world famous (in Europe) for its inefficiency. We had one dinner at Butchers cut, the speciality (not included) steakhouse onboard. The beef was not as tender as I would and should expect. The sauces came in very small servings, not enough for two people. I commented to the server that it was not Bernaise sauce that they served (no tarragon in it so it was essentially a Hollandaise sauce) and he should tell the chef that. The server came back and said that the chef looked "clueless". If you intend to go for a speciality restaurant, check what restaurants are included, as all are not included and all ships don't have all restaurants. This is als recommended when it comes to drink packages. There are 3 packages to chose from. The Easy package is the one usually included on some bookings ( there might be som differences if booked from outside USA as we do being from Sweden ) and its quite limited as it it based on drink prices. It might be suit if you don't want a large selection of wines and cocktails but do check with some bar menu's before deciding. The other is the Easy + which gives a broader range of drinks when it comes to wine and cocktails. The last, premium, gives the largest selection including champagne. So check to see that the package has the selection you want. In all the packages the 15% gratuity is included so no surprises when disembarking. As said before changes to what is included, some bars do have high price tag. Some drinks that were included in the premium package 6 month ago, now was out of reach. MSC does not as some cruise lines do charge the difference between the drink package limit and drink cost. MSC charges the whole amount. In this case premium had a 13€ limit and the bar charged 14€ (limit 13€ = limit $15). Other cruise lines would only charge 1€. Drinks outside drink package also charge a 15% gratuity. Also note that some drink packages cannot be used in speciality restaurants making the experience of wine and dine more expensive and also will upset and irritate you when faced with, making the cruising experience less than if known beforehand. Many cruise experiences that are negative on TH-cam comes from the fact that many cruisers have not made their lesson and checked these basic things. If you do check these things you will have a cruise that will match your expectations and that is a good cruise experience.
Was on the ship October 2022, first cruise from Port Canaveral back to back. The first, a 3 day trip, was pretty much a disaster from embarkation on, the second 7 day trip was nice. Great ship and crew IMO. We are going back for the same cruise in March, hope things improved. The buffet was poorly organized, only one or two places to get an omelet or fried eggs but had to wait in line to even get scrambled eggs. MDR food was decent, on par with Princess and RCL cruises we took last year. Food quality can't help to go down some with rising prices and trying to keep fares reasonable. I've found if you give the bar waiters a buck per drink, you will never have any trouble getting a drink without waiting in line.
Our family was on the Meraviglia in Sept 2021, not long after the restart. It was only about 1000 pax (1/4 regular capacity) I would have to say that we were generally less than impressed with the food. I've been cruising since the 90s, and I've been on several different lines. I think they just want you to avail of all the pay restaurant options instead of the included dining options.

ALSO I CRUISED SOLO, WHICH WAS THE BEST FARE IN THE INDISTRY, SO MUCH SO THAT I AM AGAIN CRUISING ON THE MERAVELIGA ON 03/05/2023, 7 DAYS FOR JUST $520.00, AS A SOLO AGAIN. I ALSO FOUND THE FOOD FINE AND IT WAS THE BIGGEST CABEN I WAS EVER IN. AS A SOLO M S C CAN NOT BE BEAT.

Planning on being on the Mercavilla in April. Maybe in the yacht club! Maybe. Most of the food in the mdr on the Divina was very good, some was excellent. Pizza was great. Yacht club dining on the Seashore this summer was really, really good,some excitement. Some were really the best I've ever had on a ship. If your flexibility, there is usually some that is pretty good.
You guys are FUN.... That is why you love Carnival. If you would like to see the Bad side of the MSC cruise on the Divina, It was night and day different from Meraviglia. We sail the MSC Seascape on March 5th Yall should come it is dirt cheap using a Travel Advisor rate. We will cross paths one day. Keep Cruising and building the channel, you guys are rocking it.
The big plus is with the MSC drink package, it’s really unlimited, no restriction when or how much you can order, like carnival,the alcohol drink package is limited on 15 drinks a day , not at msc….

14 days until my first MSC cruise. I'm excited and doing my research. I have cruised with Carnival many times and have no complaints with them. I do think Guys Burger is very over rated but love Blue Iguana.
First off, it was a super pleasure meeting you guys on the Meriviglia! Great recap on your experiences on MSC..Can't comment on main dining as they assigned us 'late' seating for dinner- who eats at 830PM?!?! That is the 'little one's' bed time, so we did the buffet every night..Would have to say that the food was 'all right', some dishes were a bit bland, but the roast beef and rib eye were REALLY good! One bone I have to pick about the buffet was the line(s)? They kind of would end up starting at either end(by the deserts on one end and the bread/cheeses on the other end) going toward the middle which was where the 'rotisserie' was. Needless to say, it made navigating the line confusing at times! What was neat is they had a separate 'kids and family' section of the buffet for breakfast and lunch, generally had the type of foods the little tykes like most, plus it seemed to be a LOT less crowded and quieter then the main section of the buffet..And you nailed it with the 'quick bites' area, certainly no Guys Burgers or Blue Iguana here..LOL..BUT the soft serve ice cream was pretty good! Now that we know what to expect we can set our 'bar' to the appropriate height when we sail on MSC Seaside in May! Y'all take care!
We just got off MSC and the food was blend, I would say worse than school cafeteria food. But if you like European food with no taste you will LOVE it.
Great video! I would love the salmon in the breakfast buffet. That’s my go to on Royal for breakfast. 🤩 I also prefer plastic straws. I recently was introduced to bamboo straws. They are very similar to plastic and I’ll be bringing them on our next cruise. 😍
we just got off the MSC Divina on Friday the 14th and was very disappointed that they did not change the itinerary on the way to the Bahamas so we went through the storm on the way to Nassau. after that we were supposed to go to their private island and we could not make it until Thursday, wasted week at see. besides that the food was cold and very bad. never again with MSC. on our ship the buffet food was very bad and also the main dinning area was also bad and cold
MSC alter the food according to where they are sailing from i think you'll find. European cruisers will have a different experience to those boarding in the U.S. for a cruise.
I noticed this was also the case with Royal carribean. The food for a cruise departing Sydney was terrible, but much better for the Mediterranean cruise.

Does MSC have grits on their breakfast menu or buffet. It’s a make or break thing for me. Good to hear about the coffee. Carnival’s coffee certainly needs an upgrade. Drive on.
Been on 50 cruises and finally tried MSC and I know food is a personal taste, but my wife and I both agree its the worst food we have tasted especially the buffet which has no taste at all. Like I said food is a personal choice and hopefully I didn't offend the MSC Loyals.
MSC Seaside....I ordered a shrimp cocktail that wasn't on the menu that particular night. The waiter told me I couldn't get it because it was "formal night". What? That was a first. Every other cruise I have been on (about 25 or so) the servers were always accommodating in fulfilling special requests in the dining room. That's only one of a few not-so-good comments about that ship. MSC moved waaaaay down on our list of cruise choices.
This couple are out of their Minds about the Pizza, 🙂. IM AGREEING TO DISAGREE WITH YOU ON THIS ONE....The Pizza is EXCELLENT AND MOST REVIEWS SAY THAT ABOUT THE PIZZA. FRESH MOZZARELL CHEESE, ITS FANTASTIC, ESPECIALLY FOR A CRUIE SHIP. YOU WONT STOP EATING IT THE WHOLE CRUISE !!! Royal Carribean Sorrentos Pizza is a 5.8 out of 10 . THIS PIZZA IS A BETWEEN AN 8.6 TO 8.8 OUT OF 10. I live in New York and say this Pizza is better than most New York Pizza Places. The other things they said are fine but needed to correct them about the Pizza. It's an Italian Cruise Ship!!!! For my taste , I think the Hambergers , Hot Dogs and Fries are pretty Good .
I would love to try their coffee. I like Carnivals coffee while the wife didn't. Guess different strokes for different folks. We both are pretty easy to please.

Just off the Meraviglia on Thursday (Feb 2, 2023) I agree that the food was good for the most part. Service was a bit slow. Two of us dining, one was served almost 10 min after the first. In addition, they ran out of ginger ale on day one. Jameson was pretty much impossible to find at any of the bars. Disappointing
Why o ly compare to Carnival? What about Royal. Or NCL. Specialty restaurant gratuity is a double charge as u r already paying for the main dining room even if u don't use it.
Are there trays available to put plates on, or is it all in your own hands? curious, because i've noticed most people are piling everything onto one plate in the videos i've seen across the board; however i personally would prefer to have some food items separate from others. i'm guessing the buffet lines are so long, going into lines multiple times is not desirable, but thought to ask thank you for your videos!
Sailed on the MSC Divina in 2016 and I’m telling you right now I ate one hamburger from the Buffet and for the next two days I was sick as a dog I couldn’t even make it to the toilet to vomit. I had to vomit in the sink and I literally threw up everything I had for the past two days they had to come and vacuum out the sink. Whatever you do, don’t eat the damn hamburgers a couple of months later we went on the same ship with my best friend, and I told him, for the love of God do not eat the hamburgers didn’t listen to me he also got sick as a dog, so I wouldn’t touch the hotdogs and hamburgers. For the most part, the food was bland, mainly had Italian. The rest of the ship was beautiful. The food wasn’t that good at all.theBuffet had the same exact food every day for lunch and dinner.
I think it's funny that people think Carnival is the gold standard of cruising. I will take msc over carnival any day. The food was fine to me but I like ethnic foods . I will try most anything once.
what is your favored instant coffee? Years ago I got some Starbucks via, and it was excellent. I find Carnival coffee to be 'average'--nothing great but ok. Surprisingly, Hal uses some different type coffee dispensers (even though it is part of Carnival family) and the Hal coffee was like brown hot water, no flavor or body at all...But the food on Hal (as of late December) was really good.
Personally, I’ve never understood about the complaints about food. I’m not cooking it; I don’t have to clean it up, and I give a lot of leeway knowing food service is cooking for hundreds if not thousands of people. If I don’t like it, I just won’t eat it i.e. the buffet burgers and hot dogs. The one point I noted overall about MSC food is it all has more of the European flair to it, instead of your typical American food. Regarding bar service, it is slow, but if you use the servers walking around and slide them a buck per round or drink, you’ll get great service with a big smile in return. Let’s all just be happy we’re cruising!
Hi I will be going on this cruise on Thursday. I have been hearing nothing but bad things about the embarkation process, I will be traveling with 2 older aunts. We have an embarkation time of 1:30 pm. Will it be better to get there earlier or follow my embarkation time? Your opinion will be greatly appreciated. Also, is there anywhere to get free ice cream on this cruise?
What ship? What port? Stick to your embarkation time, when a bunch people come too early, this is what contributes to the delays of boarding. The check in staff will be overwhelmed. Yes free ice cream onboard our Meraviglia sailing last month by the main pool, and it was good. There was a bar/ice cream parlor like built into one.
Before I watch this I’ve been on MSC and it was great. So, I have no idea about people’s complaints. I think those complaining eat fast food junk on a regular basis. I am also Italian and a cook so it’s really weird to hear things That are contrary to what our entire group experienced. Those complaints are usually very miserable.
Just because you did think their food wasn't what you expected doesn't mean everyone else will think the same! Not discouraging to me, but I will have my own opinion when I go this july!
Agree and that's why we said "everyone has their own taste buds and opinions" And that's also why we discussed 1 of us liking something while the other did not😁
We traveled on Seashore inJuly last year. The food in main dining room was not good 5 days out of 7 cruise days One time it was actually not eatable. The waters looked not trained enough and afraid of something. The breakfast in restaurant was good. Much better than in buffet. There was not enough sitting around in buffet. The carving food was not cooked to be palatable. But the most bad was the customer service and people helping with the bad wi-GI. So! Our opinion: there are not too much to like on the MSC. I can list it: 1. Entertainment 2. Breakfast in restaurant. 3. Beautiful ship. For us it had not sounded good enough. I think that it was our first and last trip with MSC
So not cool about the straws, worst thing for the environment! Most All Inclusives in Mexico have gotten rid of them. Cruise ships need to dump them also.
MSC food is below par v its competitors. Well below the better brands like celebrity and below RCCL. They have abundant bland simple stuff like pizza pasta etc but.its basic. And that before covid. The pub on our ship(their name) dodnt have most beer choices. Staffing levels and wait at bar was long. Rare to find pool service. Lunch choice was quite poor. Disinterested staff didnt help. I wont sail them again. In the main dining we only saw steak/beef once and it was a upsell. Nothing fancy. Boring and bland simple food. We always likto try something different but didnt see anything over 7 nts. Its like expecting bombe alaska but they only have vanilla gelato. And others we met said same. The carvery meats at buffet were also poor cuts. Fatty etc.
Why are you focusing on wardrobes? Why do you talk about shorts, pants, and button up shirts? Why are you announcing suit coats, kaki pants, collar shirts, cocktail dresses, and formal wear? The title of your video is about MSC CRUISE FOOD, and not about dressing and clothing. You talk as if this were a fashion show. Your video is misleading all the viewers because they came here to hear about the food, not about formal wear and casual wear and kaki pants and cocktail dresses. There was also an emphasis on desserts and alcoholic beverages. Your video might have been enhanced significantly if you had shown MUCH MORE of the various FOOD ITEMS. In conclusion, this is an extremely SCANT video presentation of MSC CRUISE FOOD. It got a failing review.

If that's the case I would rather pay lower MSC cruise fair compared to royal caribbean that could be as much as double for a similar cruise and room.

I’ve never been on carnival but have done Princess, NCL, RCL and Celebrity, the food was good on all of them.

In this case premium had a 13€ limit and the bar charged 14€ (limit 13€ = limit $15). Other cruise lines would only charge 1€. Drinks outside drink package also charge a 15% gratuity. Also note that some drink packages cannot be used in speciality restaurants making the experience of wine and dine more expensive and also will upset and irritate you when faced with, making the cruising experience less than if known beforehand. Many cruise experiences that are negative on TH-cam comes from the fact that many cruisers have not made their lesson and checked these basic things. If you do check these things you will have a cruise that will match your expectations and that is a good cruise experience.
Was on the ship October 2022, first cruise from Port Canaveral back to back. The first, a 3 day trip, was pretty much a disaster from embarkation on, the second 7 day trip was nice. Great ship and crew IMO. We are going back for the same cruise in March, hope things improved. The buffet was poorly organized, only one or two places to get an omelet or fried eggs but had to wait in line to even get scrambled eggs. MDR food was decent, on par with Princess and RCL cruises we took last year. Food quality can't help to go down some with rising prices and trying to keep fares reasonable. I've found if you give the bar waiters a buck per drink, you will never have any trouble getting a drink without waiting in line.
I feel Carnival does a really good job of veteran recognition on their cruises.

Our family was on the Meraviglia in Sept 2021, not long after the restart. It was only about 1000 pax (1/4 regular capacity) I would have to say that we were generally less than impressed with the food. I've been cruising since the 90s, and I've been on several different lines. I think they just want you to avail of all the pay restaurant options instead of the included dining options.

I WAS ON THE M S C MERAVELIGA ON 01/15/23, I FOUND IT TO BE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SHIPS I HAVE EVER BEEN ON, AND I AM A DIAMOND MEMBER ON R.C. ALSO I CRUISED SOLO, WHICH WAS THE BEST FARE IN THE INDISTRY, SO MUCH SO THAT I AM AGAIN CRUISING ON THE MERAVELIGA ON 03/05/2023, 7 DAYS FOR JUST $520.00, AS A SOLO AGAIN. I ALSO FOUND THE FOOD FINE AND IT WAS THE BIGGEST CABEN I WAS EVER IN. AS A SOLO M S C CAN NOT BE BEAT.

Most of the food in the mdr on the Divina was very good, some was excellent. Pizza was great.
Yacht club dining on the Seashore this summer was really, really good,some excitement. Some were really the best I've ever had on a ship. If your flexibility, there is usually some that is pretty good.

You guys are FUN.... That is why you love Carnival. If you would like to see the Bad side of the MSC cruise on the Divina, It was night and day different from Meraviglia. We sail the MSC Seascape on March 5th Yall should come it is dirt cheap using a Travel Advisor rate. We will cross paths one day. Keep Cruising and building the channel, you guys are rocking it.
The big plus is with the MSC drink package, it’s really unlimited, no restriction when or how much you can order, like carnival,the alcohol drink package is limited on 15 drinks a day , not at msc….

14 days until my first MSC cruise. I'm excited and doing my research. I have cruised with Carnival many times and have no complaints with them. I do think Guys Burger is very over rated but love Blue Iguana.

Great recap on your experiences on MSC..Can't comment on main dining as they assigned us 'late' seating for dinner- who eats at 830PM?!?! That is the 'little one's' bed time, so we did the buffet every night..Would have to say that the food was 'all right', some dishes were a bit bland, but the roast beef and rib eye were REALLY good! One bone I have to pick about the buffet was the line(s)? They kind of would end up starting at either end(by the deserts on one end and the bread/cheeses on the other end) going toward the middle which was where the 'rotisserie' was. Needless to say, it made navigating the line confusing at times! What was neat is they had a separate 'kids and family' section of the buffet for breakfast and lunch, generally had the type of foods the little tykes like most, plus it seemed to be a LOT less crowded and quieter then the main section of the buffet..And you nailed it with the 'quick bites' area, certainly no Guys Burgers or Blue Iguana here..LOL..BUT the soft serve ice cream was pretty good! Now that we know what to expect we can set our 'bar' to the appropriate height when we sail on MSC Seaside in May! Y'all take care!
We just got off MSC and the food was blend, I would say worse than school cafeteria food. But if you like European food with no taste you will LOVE it.
Great video! I would love the salmon in the breakfast buffet. That’s my go to on Royal for breakfast. 🤩 I also prefer plastic straws. I recently was introduced to bamboo straws. They are very similar to plastic and I’ll be bringing them on our next cruise. 😍

we just got off the MSC Divina on Friday the 14th and was very disappointed that they did not change the itinerary on the way to the Bahamas so we went through the storm on the way to Nassau. after that we were supposed to go to their private island and we could not make it until Thursday, wasted week at see. besides that the food was cold and very bad. never again with MSC. on our ship the buffet food was very bad and also the main dinning area was also bad and cold

MSC alter the food according to where they are sailing from i think you'll find. European cruisers will have a different experience to those boarding in the U.S. for a cruise.
I noticed this was also the case with Royal carribean. The food for a cruise departing Sydney was terrible, but much better for the Mediterranean cruise.

Be aware when purchasing a dining package you do not get availability to the entire menu. There are upcharges for the upper tier of the menu!
Does MSC have grits on their breakfast menu or buffet. It’s a make or break thing for me. Good to hear about the coffee. Carnival’s coffee certainly needs an upgrade. Drive on.
Been on 50 cruises and finally tried MSC and I know food is a personal taste, but my wife and I both agree its the worst food we have tasted especially the buffet which has no taste at all. Like I said food is a personal choice and hopefully I didn't offend the MSC Loyals.
Traveled msc sinfonia was great experience food included was fresh and clean
MSC Seaside....I ordered a shrimp cocktail that wasn't on the menu that particular night. The waiter told me I couldn't get it because it was "formal night". What? That was a first. Every other cruise I have been on (about 25 or so) the servers were always accommodating in fulfilling special requests in the dining room. That's only one of a few not-so-good comments about that ship. MSC moved waaaaay down on our list of cruise choices.

I would love to try their coffee. I like Carnivals coffee while the wife didn't. Guess different strokes for different folks. We both are pretty easy to please.

Just off the Meraviglia on Thursday (Feb 2, 2023) I agree that the food was good for the most part. Service was a bit slow. Two of us dining, one was served almost 10 min after the first. In addition, they ran out of ginger ale on day one. Jameson was pretty much impossible to find at any of the bars. Disappointing

Are there trays available to put plates on, or is it all in your own hands? curious, because i've noticed most people are piling everything onto one plate in the videos i've seen across the board; however i personally would prefer to have some food items separate from others. i'm guessing the buffet lines are so long, going into lines multiple times is not desirable, but thought to ask

Sailed on the MSC Divina in 2016 and I’m telling you right now I ate one hamburger from the Buffet and for the next two days I was sick as a dog I couldn’t even make it to the toilet to vomit. I had to vomit in the sink and I literally threw up everything I had for the past two days they had to come and vacuum out the sink. Whatever you do, don’t eat the damn hamburgers a couple of months later we went on the same ship with my best friend, and I told him, for the love of God do not eat the hamburgers didn’t listen to me he also got sick as a dog, so I wouldn’t touch the hotdogs and hamburgers. For the most part, the food was bland, mainly had Italian. The rest of the ship was beautiful. The food wasn’t that good at all.theBuffet had the same exact food every day for lunch and dinner.
I think it's funny that people think Carnival is the gold standard of cruising. I will take msc over carnival any day. The food was fine to me but I like ethnic foods . I will try most anything once.
what is your favored instant coffee? Years ago I got some Starbucks via, and it was excellent. I find Carnival coffee to be 'average'--nothing great but ok. Surprisingly, Hal uses some different type coffee dispensers (even though it is part of Carnival family) and the Hal coffee was like brown hot water, no flavor or body at all...But the food on Hal (as of late December) was really good.
I really like the Folgers Singles. I think it tastes better than the regular Folgers brew coffee.
Personally, I’ve never understood about the complaints about food. I’m not cooking it; I don’t have to clean it up, and I give a lot of leeway knowing food service is cooking for hundreds if not thousands of people. If I don’t like it, I just won’t eat it i.e. the buffet burgers and hot dogs. The one point I noted overall about MSC food is it all has more of the European flair to it, instead of your typical American food. Regarding bar service, it is slow, but if you use the servers walking around and slide them a buck per round or drink, you’ll get great service with a big smile in return. Let’s all just be happy we’re cruising!

Hi I will be going on this cruise on Thursday. I have been hearing nothing but bad things about the embarkation process, I will be traveling with 2 older aunts. We have an embarkation time of 1:30 pm. Will it be better to get there earlier or follow my embarkation time? Your opinion will be greatly appreciated. Also, is there anywhere to get free ice cream on this cruise?
What ship? What port? Stick to your embarkation time, when a bunch people come too early, this is what contributes to the delays of boarding. The check in staff will be overwhelmed. Yes free ice cream onboard our Meraviglia sailing last month by the main pool, and it was good. There was a bar/ice cream parlor like built into one.

Before I watch this I’ve been on MSC and it was great. So, I have no idea about people’s complaints. I think those complaining eat fast food junk on a regular basis. I am also Italian and a cook so it’s really weird to hear things That are contrary to what our entire group experienced. Those complaints are usually very miserable.

We traveled on Seashore inJuly last year. The food in main dining room was not good 5 days out of 7 cruise days One time it was actually not eatable. The waters looked not trained enough and afraid of something. The breakfast in restaurant was good. Much better than in buffet. There was not enough sitting around in buffet. The carving food was not cooked to be palatable. But the most bad was the customer service and people helping with the bad wi-GI. So! Our opinion: there are not too much to like on the MSC. I can list it: 1. Entertainment 2. Breakfast in restaurant. 3. Beautiful ship. For us it had not sounded good enough. I think that it was our first and last trip with MSC

So not cool about the straws, worst thing for the environment! Most All Inclusives in Mexico have gotten rid of them. Cruise ships need to dump them also.
MSC food is below par v its competitors. Well below the better brands like celebrity and below RCCL. They have abundant bland simple stuff like pizza pasta etc but.its basic. And that before covid. The pub on our ship(their name) dodnt have most beer choices. Staffing levels and wait at bar was long. Rare to find pool service. Lunch choice was quite poor. Disinterested staff didnt help. I wont sail them again. In the main dining we only saw steak/beef once and it was a upsell. Nothing fancy. Boring and bland simple food. We always likto try something different but didnt see anything over 7 nts. Its like expecting bombe alaska but they only have vanilla gelato. And others we met said same. The carvery meats at buffet were also poor cuts. Fatty etc.
Been on 24 cruises all major lines. MSC was Terrible. Will not go back. Don't waste your money.

There was also an emphasis on desserts and alcoholic beverages. Your video might have been enhanced significantly if you had shown MUCH MORE of the various FOOD ITEMS.
