    I met Kenny Gamble in Philadelphia in 2016 at a gala. I felt so honored to meet him! Told him that he wrote some of my favorite songs and that I appreciate it him and Mr. Leon Huff! I’m really pissed that building was destroyed in a fire! That was definitely black history! Salute to these brothers! 👑👑

    The interview was great Gamble & Huff have super mega respect influence and reverence in the music industry.
    I wished they would have shouted out legendary Philadelphia producer and songwriter Thom Bell who wrote produced for the Delphonics , Stylistics, Spinners, and Denise Williams , he was a truly legendary producer and in the Rock & Roll hall of fame.

    The original Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis of the 60s, 70s and 80s...back when soul music had solid melodies, facets grooves, and live instrumentation..incredible musicians/songwriters with an incredible catalog...I would love to have seen these brothers put their hits together! Salute to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, thank you for blessing us with the soundtrack of Black Music in my parents and my life as well!

      The interview I have been waiting for! I am seventy and R and B is my heart and Gamble and Huff to me are the Gods! I have a large collection of records and most of them are Gamble and Huff and Thom Bell! They definitely are the greatest and I have all the O’Jays for instance E! Even my Fifty year old daughter listens to them on a weekly basis! Thank you for this!!!!

    I grew up listening to the BEST, I SAID THE BEST!! music under these two Legends of TSOP. Can't forget Thom Bell. The in-house band was BEAUTIFUL!!! I wish I could of been in the studio to hear the orchestra.

    that whole Philly Sound dominated black music from the late 60's until the mid 80's ( The Delfonics, The Intuders, the Stylistics , Teddy, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Blue Magic, Lou Rawls, The Spinners , Billy Paul, The Jones Girls, The O'Jays etc etc etc)
    Mr. Gamble doesn't get the credit he deserves for trying to buy up properties & landmarks all over downtown Philly & South Philly & try to counter gentrification & keep them in black hands..its a shame they couldn't save , renovate & restore The old Philly International Records headquarters on South Broad Street & turn it into a historical tourist attraction a la Hitsville USA in Detriot

    I missed this interview, but came here because I was on Spotify and realizing how MUCH the sound of these guys influenced an entire sound generation for Black America and America in general. What's more, I'll never forget being in Sicily in the late 80s, and their music was on the radio. Much Respect!

    I dont think a lot of people (especially their younger fans) REALLY realize how much music these two MUSIC GIANTS have put out. On one hand, many will think of any number of SINGLES or songs, they produced. But their true fame, came by way of the ENTIRE ALBUMS that they produced, for some of the greatest singers and groups, the World has ever seen or heard..like the OJays, Jerry Butler, Dusty Springfield, Nancy Wilson, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Billy Paul, Joe Simon, Mother*Father*Sister*Brother (MFSB), Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti LaBelle, Jean Carn and The Jacksons, to name but a few.

    I remember seeing and greeting Bro. Kenny Gamble at 30th Street Station waiting for my train to New Jersey. I greeted him as the Great Elder that he is and it was as if we have known each other from the past. He showed me love and actually said, we need to remember this moment and make something from it, i.e. Jewelry or Music when he also found out I have 9 songs registered in the Library of Congress. Shout out to Sis. Dr. Cynthia Biggs El (a beautiful loyal Sister with a sincere heart - "If Only You Knew") Bro. Kenny, I am here, just say the word. Peace and love.

      American Bandstand at that time was filmed in Philly. Soul Train started out in Chicago..then they both moved to LA.

    They were our Philly hometown Motown great song writers and producers. Did music for the Intruders, Delphonics, the Futures, Dexter Wanzel, Harold Melvin and the Blue notes, Teddy Pendergrass, the O'jays, Patty LaBelle, the Jones Girls, Lou Rawls, Billy Paul and the(2 great albums) for the- Jacksons and Going Places".

    Wow these 2 gentleman are the souls behind the 4 on the floor and the strings that make the hair stand on the back of your neck.there catalog is second to none. All the sounds we hear today, house music love songs and break beats all come from these two souls, I can't imagine what the music scene would be like without these 2 legends.

      Philly has an African American Museum and you would think that they would have an exhibit dedicated to Gamble & Huff, Patti Labelle and a host of other Philly artist--NOPE!!! I was SO disappointed when I left that museum!

      its a travesty
      just as bad as what they did with Joe Fraziers Gym on Broad Street..they turned it into a darn furniture store SMDH
