i love this team so much. fezandipiti feels so powerful sometimes when you hit double poisons. while it could sometimes be tough to utilize it properly, if you have that luck in your side you’re basically unstoppable especially if you hit the early game poisons.

It doesn't matter if a team technically is super niche or even useless. At that point you're playing around getting the funny moment and that's good enough of a reason for me to do things in VGC. My favorite set in Sword and Shield was the Zeraora/Regieleki Plasma Fists into Explosion team that Aaron highlighted which was just straight up not good. But deleting stuff like Calyrex-Shadow and it's partner on turn 1 if they didn't protect was hilarious and that's good enough of a reason to do it. Don't let your dreams be memes. QOTD: Fezandipiti getting Tailwind is interesting to me, although I don't know if I'd run it because every time I've run into it on the ladder, I've blown it up before it got away with much. I dunno if that's a piloting problem or not. It gets so many good spread moves, though, so maybe with screens support to help bulk it up and just spamming things like Dazzling or Icy Wind or even Heat Wave you could spread status and damage while keeping the game's pace as slow as possible! Main problem would be stopping the enemy from overwhelming you offensively
Definitely a piloting issue lmao. You should only be bringing it when it can get away with a bunch and you should probably be building around it so things like Lando don't just kill it
I am not too familiar with the DLC yet, but the typing of Fezandipiti is unique and strong. Immunity to Dragon is obv very good, and you are a Fairy type that can hit back with Poison stab.
QOTD: This Fezandipiti is basically the exact one that I had theorized, except maybe I would have considered Tailwind in the Sludge Bomb slot, but this is exactly the kind of Fezandipiti that I would run.
I’ve been running scarf technician max speed max special atk on the poison non flying bird. With icy wind it’s really nice for speed control and with the tech boost it’s doing ~85% to lando. Acid spray is also great next to flutter or chi yu. Tech boost on air slash gives ~50% on a no bulk urshi with no crit.
I’ve been having fun with a roost fezandipiti, really helps out in the games where I’m just waiting for the double toxic to faint. Especially with how well fez seems to tank hits. Also been mixing in a hex sinistcha to take advantage of the poisons, or perhaps it’s own matcha gotcha burns
Currently running Bulky SpAtk Fezandipiti w/ Venoshock instead of Sludge Bomb, and Tailwind instead of Protect. It’s a nice soft counter to Tornadus and Flutter Mane so far.
QOTD: if it had the poison, move that doubles when there is a status that’s how I’d run it. I haven’t looked to well at the move pools for the DLC yet still shiny hunting other things but that’s what I would do
I've been trying a physical weakness policy Fezandipti with flying tera and acrobatics and a partner with discharge to activate WP. Its done quite well, winning 7 out of 10 battles plus its alot of fun
i have tried using a beat up + tailwind set using justfied arcanine that took alot of my opponents off guard, while making it impossible to sleep or burn my arcanine while i tera fairy!! i really recommend you check it out. love the content man!
Technician Fezandipiti is also very interesting since he gets access to double wingbeat.. maybe a bulky physical attacker with Flying Tera for the STAB + dodging Ground moves 🤔
These (badly constructed) games unfortunately give me migraines when i play them, but i still thoroughly enjoy being able to vicariously experience competitive Pokemon by watching you. Thanks!
I’m still figuring out how Ogerpon is gonna fit onto a new team. Mines impish, max hp, max defence and holding an assault vest. I love this pokemon so much!
I think assault vest max defense spreads yourself too thin for Ogerpon imo, some of it's greatest tools is swords dance, follow me and spiky shield and especially without swords dance I don't imagine a max defense set doing too much? Idk tho I'd love to be proven wrong, I just feel you'd rather go sitrus or one of the defensive masks (Aka just water tbh) and run swords dance so your longevity is threatening
Technician is in such a strange place the last two generations. Some mons are like purpose built for it, like Scizor or Breloom, and others... They get the ability, but the movepool just isn't there. Or they aren't REALLY offensive mons in general. I keep feeling like 'Sharpness' is the better implementation of this kind of thing. Technician is in a weird place for developers because it makes less powerful moves with reliable secondary effects very strong. But it's hard to make those lower base power moves with great secondaries without making the actual single player game a nightmare for new players in the low levels, etc.
@@Kasaaz yeah Sometimes i'm like excited to see that a mon has technician I look at its moveset and find out technician will only be useful if you're using early game moves like tackle in a playthrough Which is disappointing
Technician only boosts moves that’re 60 BP or less *after* any other boosts, so it doesn’t do anything for poisoned venoshock or fury cutter after the first hit
I REALLY wish tail slap had 100 accuracy or at least 95. The 85 accuracy is a huge shame. I would love it on Fezandipity to proc poisons or being powerful with technician.
qotd: I haven’t yet but I’ll lab some Fezandipiti after I’m finished with Chandelure. Really weird niche in a meta without any hailroom abusers, but it’s a cool mon at the moment.
Personally, I want to try running fezandipidi with grassy seed and maybe roost. I think it has a lot of potential. It just needs a lot of good offensive threats surrounding it to help it succeed. I tested it in a few games and didn't get a single toxic chain despite it being on the field spamming dazzling gleam. Lol
Is there ever a reason to run Technician on it? I've been curious. It's not as bad as Mokidori's Hidden Ability (at least with open sheets) and I wonder if it's just underexplored or if the movepool doesn't support it. Dual Wing beat the only thing I assume it has that plays into Technician. Edit: Not sure, but does Technician work with Acrobatics?
@@Kasaaz I personally ran the toxic chain with gunk shot + play rough + life orb. I used it as a bulky tailwind setter, but surprisingly enough it pretty much one shots ogerpon if they have no bulk, and if they do you can get lucky with the toxic chain to let it tick out in a turn or two.

Does toxic chain have a 30% chance on each hit of a multi hit move or just once overall? Fez gets axcess to beat up which hits 4x on the first turn. If it works with multi hit moves, then beat almost guarantees a poison.
It’s an 86% chance with a 4-hit beat up, and beat up is an extremely weak move coming from a relatively weak Pokémon, so you’re basically just using the move Toxic but with fire blast accuracy
I have just came back to VGC. Is it a trend now that Flutter Mane now wants to invest into defense instead of a typical set of 252 sp.atk and speed? Or is this just a special case?
@@POOH_LY Both are valid bulk is just a bit more used to not lose to a few things. Living 1 hit is often enough to win the game. But all out damage can solo a lot if you really want to just go for big sweeps.
Multi-target moves have their base power reduced to 75%. So, if Icy Wind has two targets, it will not have its original base power of 55 but a base power of 41.25. You cah check this quite easily, use a multi-hit Earthquake and then Stomping Tantrum, they will bot deal the same amount of damage as their base powers will be effectively identical (ST is 75, EQ is 100 but reduced to 75% so becomes 75)
Does anyone know if technician would boost dazzling gleam in doubles? Since it gets reduced to 75% base power, it becomes 60 BP, thus activating technician? Not that it would do anything but would be an interesting mechanic
the “targets” modifier is applied when calculating damage, rather than when calculating base power, so no. fun fact: in battle royals, the spread multiplier is the original gen 3 .5 rather than .75, meaning if technician worked this way, it would boost *Earthquake.*
I guess thats just how it goes but it was really disappointing IMO to never see an impactful toxic chain proc in any of the fights. You pretty much never got it on the first attack and usually when it procced the person had like 10% hp left and survived it causing it to make no difference. I know it's high variance but you basically low rolled toxic chain every fight.
I 100% feel like physical attacking fezandipiti is better, less options of spread but with assault vest being so common you'll end up doing way more damage, and you can run your own assault vest and just do atk and def EVs since he's naturally sp def heavy the assault vest would be more than enough. Maybe fire or ground tera tera blast to cover the awkward position they have against steel types and remove weaknesses to ground and psychic if you felt you needed to defensive tera. Like the Mon is super bulky anyways and being a special attacker set when assault vest is so common AND it's not even Fezandipiti's better damage stat is just yikes.. especially with the offensive physical pressure of Ogerpon and fezandipiti lead even if you manage to go against the few defensive tank pokemon you can almost guarantee a kill onto a pokemon per turn if they don't try to mitigate..
I tried to make a team that maximized the bird but ultimately i don't feel like it pulled its weight. Toxic chain doesn't activate as much as you would like to justify the slot. The bulk is great but the damage output is problematic enough where I don't think its worth it.
