Love the initial disclaimer, and fully understand why you added that having followed your steps. Fortunately, the key I was trying to open was not glued as much, and the circuit board only had 4 plastic pins retaining it, so was easy to remove and place into a new body
For anyone trying this themselves, a good set of brand new picks works wonders. As for the glue, hold the key under a heat gun on high for a minute or two and wear gloves to pry it apart. Managed to swap my circuit board with very minimal visible damage to a used oem shell.
Hey. Great video! I've been trying to dissassemble my key, and your video is the absolute only one I've found that has the same key as mine. I have a problem though; I simply can't prize the top part off. It will let go of the side where the "deep end" is for the mechanical key, but it is completely stuck on the other side. The opposite side of the one you say you broke the latch off of. Really hope you can help! :)

Good morning...I have a question and I hope you can help. I just purchased a 2007 Mercedes Benz ML350 and so far is awesome. My question is..when i put the key fob in the ignition, it will not turn. I'll have to reinsert the key fob a few times before itll finally turn and start BUT at times the Panic Button will go off in the process. Am I doing something incorrectly?
Your W202 must have had a replacement key/EZS etc in it's lifetime. a W202 is supposed to have the large format black IR key as also seen in the R172 SL500.
Cheers for sharing was just about to take mine apart and swap insides with a good case ! But I think I’ll stick with the worm case for now as looks like it could land me a £150 invoice otherwise 🤙👍🏻🤟🏻

just broke top of the key, the system to get the small key out by pulling the top part lol. But this key is biggest bullshit I have seen in a while. trunk opening nonstop. Design fail
Mercedes are so dumb. I bet a lot of people had they key accidentally open trunk (tail gate) while in the back pocket. If trunk opens car is still locked. My trunk (tail gate) does not close automatically. All content of trunk becomes unsecure. If accidentally you unlock only doors it will lock back in 40 seconds. But if you accidentally unlock doors and trunk together. Car becomes unsecure. No lock goes back on after 40 seconds. Fuel, trunk, all doors everything is open until you close down trunk and lock the doors. Just got robbed, easy picking for thieve. £500 down the drain. Now I'm drilling hole in the button which opens trunk on the remote, so it will never be opened with remote.

Hey, those last two plastic pins can be cut off with finger nail clippers then the board will pull out.
Good video. Mine hasn't had issues... yet! My 1998 C220 D has a different key that the board can slide out of.
