I only have 41 employees but I sent half home with pay. We are trying to figure it out. But I can't fire them right now. Pray I make the right decisions
@@joshowens2219 it's a struggle but my company has been close knit and resilient. Half of them work on commission so we are making adjustments. We will make it through 100 percent
You did make the right decision... you know in your heart you did. It’s better to put them on a leave of absence than lay off. Things will turn around sooner than expected. Pray for wisdom in this hard time.

If you don't make the hard decision on 20+ you will be forced to do so for 40+....I have been all 3 parts of layoffs (laid off, survivor, and the one laying off). Make the decision faster.

This is why I work for myself ,so when the economy becomes stressful I don’t have my financial life dependent on another man or should I say my employer. Everyone use this time to learn,educate and build.

Me too. My business is doing better than ever. My last job let me go and knew that I wasnt at fault. It was at that point that I told myself. I will be damned if I let some company dictate my life. Impowerment is 1 out of a million facets of happiness.

Take the lead. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made. Look you helped me. I have a trucking company decided to go from 10 trucks to 20 trucks. Prices were super low and now the trucks are making $750 to $1000 a day because of deciding to grow. Drivers are calling for work daily, but we got work until September. Thank you for 10x. Even if everyone cant do it.

Firing someone is one of the hardest things I've ever done.

Firing bad fits or just useless people isn't hard, but firing people that you've worked with for a long time, but due to circumstances beyond your control isn't and SHOULDN'T be easy. Business isn't all about being ruthless and cold cut completely devoid of emotion. There are aspects that do cause the two to interact and the above scenario is one of them.

We’re right there with you, Grant. We have hundreds of clients to take care of and are having to make the same tough decisions to lay employees off. Rent and utilities still have to be paid every month... can’t lay off our landlord.
We just hired several new employees within the last month with the intention of expansion. No one could have imagined what we’re all going through now. We all hate the decisions we’re being forced to make, but someone has to make them or there won’t be a company for anyone to come back to... for both our employees and our clients.

This is exactly why I opened an LLC and set myself up to be independent of society 2 years ago. The stock buybacks and the endless gains in the market. It’s almost a mirror of the Great Depression. I cashed out my 401k in 2016 kept my eyes open for 2 years and found something that works for me. (That is the most important thing, what works for you). Then I went for it and I am so glad I did. Right now I’m trying to be selective about who I hire and who I surround myself with. While most everyone is scrambling to figure out what to do I’m expanding my business.
Make a decision right now you are going to be independent and generate your own money. You’ll be so happy you did.

As an employer for 24 years I can say layoffing off staff is definety underrated. Gutwrenching, stress, near anxiety.. I just layed off 23 of my 25 employees (I'm continuing their benefits from my own pocket- ouch). We were deamed " non essential " by our governor. My exact words I used "fight to live another day!". Never give up my friends.

All the people I know are trying to keep their employees on as long as possible because they value people. They are planning for 3-4 weeks and then re-evaluating. They are thinking big picture. Thinking long term. You dont just cut people loose at the sign of trouble. Hang tight. Show some courage. Lead by example. Take some heat and take some pain. That's what a true leader does. This guy is a wuss. He is running scared.

@@Bwally21 I am a great leader of a Howitzer Gun detachment. I lead by example and when things get tough I jump in with my troops and help them out. I definitely don't abandon them. I make sure they eat before I eat. I treat them with respect and because of that I earn their respect.
