What struck me re Jinx and Isha is actually that Jinx never asks Isha to change, she never even tries to make Isha 'better' by making her speak. She just accepts Isha, flaws and all - what she did not think she had in Vi (though she did, but Vi didn't understand how to love Jinx in a way that Jinx understood, which is a different tragedy)
imma make your heart bleed, she actually does speak. When Jinx tells Sevika to get Isha away when Warwick first appears in the prison, she reaches toward Jinx and yells out "Mama!!!" in the most heart crushing little voice :_(
Another random detail that might just be reading too much into things: Jinx says the bug is ‘past its prime’ and should just die, but Isha convinces her to give it a rematch. Not unlike how she considered herself: past her prime and deserving to die until Isha offered her another chance at life and at attacking Piltover
You know I just realized that first scene. When Isha stopped Jinx from dropping the bug and encourage to have a rematch, it's a reflection to Ekko stopping Jinx from killing herself and encouraging her to fight again.
I love the way she says “you remind me of her”: Because it even though it’s relatively clear to us that “her” means powder, if you see what she says written down, “her” could be referring to either vi or powder. And that’s fitting because Isha is so much like vi in the way she sees the world, and yet like powder as well in the way she is seen by the world. It’s such a beautiful, ambiguous way to express that as up to interpretation.
I love how jinx is tryly still a child at heart, which is why Isha seems like a friend to her. Its like Powder has finally gotten a friend that understands and shares her interests. But on the outside she looks older so Isha sees her as an older sister or mither figure
What I love about Isha is that her interactions with Jinx, help Jinx self heal. Running around painting walls, jumping into water, dyeing her hair, playing games etc. That’s why jinx refers to her as a friend. Isha didn’t hang around Jinx just for her protection, she genuinely liked being around her. She loved Jinx the way she was, and that’s all she asked. She wanted someone to see her broken, and still want to be around her.
Oh god...I just realized something about Powders and Vi's eyes. Jinx actual name is Powder and Vi is named Violet. Jinx shimmer eyecolor is named "red Violet" while Vi's eyecolor apparently is named "Powder blue". So not only carry both a part of each others signature color with them but they are also named after the other eye color in a sense
This is unrelated to Jinx, but Vi's color palette is usually based in red, while Cait's is based in indigo/blue. It's an LGBT trope to have a gay/lesbian couple in red and blue. Think Ruby and Sapphire from Steven Universe, Korra and Asami, Nick and Charlie, etc. Look for it and you will find it 😂
@@DinoSchnitzel_mit_Pomisand also: powder's hair is blue as well, like in the comment they said that vi's eye color is named powder blue. And since Vi's hair color is red and her full name is violet, didn't they say earlier in the comment that powder's shimmering eye color was red violet?
Each character of arcane is tied to a european tragedy in literature & painting(Victor/phantom of opera, Cait/McBeth, Ambessa/Cesar, Mel/Socrates etc...) Jinx is tied to the painting The liberty leading the people from Eugene Delacroix & the Miserables book from victor Hugo. Isha is her Gavroche so she had to inspire joy & esperance then die
It's like how jinxes mom was pregnant and didn't know the first thing about kids but became a good mom before she died. Powder is like her mom it seems and vi is like Vander
Maybe I’m completely wrong but at first I was confused why Jinx would think it’s a dumb idea to dye Isha’s hair blue but I think it’s because Jinx hates herself (might be too strong of a word but point still stands) and doesn’t see why Isha would want to look like her.

That’s why when she makes a mistake on the flying ship in episode 3 as Jinx, she says that Silco thinks she’s weak despite him never saying that. She also tells Vi after they reunite that she has changed (powder to jinx) and obviously doesn’t seem proud in herself. And like the other comment stated, she also blames herself for her family being separated. The song that plays when Jinx is about to “self exit” has the lyrics “I know it's my fault that I'm here all alone.”
I definitely think so, I personally always read the scene that way. I also think Jinx doesn’t thinks she’s the type of person a child should idolize and aspire to be like
So, at the end, Vi turned into what she hated most (an enforcer), and Powder/Jinx turned into whom nobody thought she could ever be, a version of Vander. 🤔 I mean, what’s the irony in that? For what we’d expect, Vi would of turned out to be a Vander; a leader and peacemaker like Vander hoped for. On the other hand, Jinx turned out to be that inspiration and that symbol of freedom and leadership for the Zaunites that Vi would’ve never be… the irony is great.

It could be that she's selectively mute, mute in the traditional senses (neurologically or physically,) or yes, she might also be non verbal. Arcane has a lot of exploration of mental health, and various forms of disabilities without being ableist. That's one reason why I admire it so much! It's also not homophobic or LGBT-phobic in general, including the antagonists, which is something other stories fall into. The villains either hate LGBTQ people, or they're the only ones who "accept" it but as part of their evil identity so it seems to fetishize being an LGBT person. (We're just human beings, we don't exist as a creation of cis-het people for the sake of their own lust or perversion.) People should be allowed to exist as PEOPLE regardless of their status as a member or ally of the LGBTQ community, not having that part of their identity associated with their moral standing/actions. Characters should be written that way too, as PEOPLE.
I really love that Isha used aign language!! I don't know if her sign is a home sign or from any real world sign language, but it gives so much more depth to the world of Arcane!!
When I was in my late teens/early twenties, I used to dye my hip length hair teal, and the color was really close to Jinx's, maybe a little greener. I kept it that color for the better part of a decade and my little niece ended up really wanting her hair dyed, too. So, I made a deal with her that if she got good grades, I'd dye her hair. Sure enough, her report card comes in all Bs and As, so I dyed the ends of her short brown hair my same shade of teal. She was so stoked about it. This scene really hits me in a strangely personal way, especially since she's not around anymore.
WHY does everyone keep calling her mom, while she clearly sees herself as an older sis, literally says as much in this very short, as the matter of fact? Is mother's love supposed to be, like, by definition more deep and admirable than sister's, and thus more cute, or something? I really don't get it.
