Idk why they took Mirror tower away from Gaia it was in the Beta game didn’t put it in the new game. If they have the lowest win percentage I don’t understand that.
Let me get my input here. I used to be a poseidon main in the OG game, and then switched to Gaia when the OG Titans came out. Since then I play only with Gaia. In this game, the largest problem about gods, and especially the Atlantean line, is that people do not know how to use their major and minor gods. Playing as Gaia, which is supposed to be a economic boost god, feeled underwhelming, but at the same time, seeing all these buffs, makes me think that they buff the things people have no idea how to use. (for example lush) The nerfs in proms are logical, as the major reason someone would go Ouranus or Kronos is because of the proms. I love the buffs to Leto, as she is who I play most of the time. People go with Oceanus due to utility, but Leto has some great buffs down the road. Also, great buffs towards hero units, as this is the core point of atlanteans, spamming hero units to balance their strange and super situational army units. The wood change is also amazing, for people that don't know, you are going to see all atlanteans age up at 2mins, far earlier than any other faction, and this is going to propel Gaias economic buffs over the roof. (tip for gaia players: use houses to make a path from the tc you trade to your market. Fastest caravans in the game. Thank me later.) Edit: Forgot to mention, the lampades buff ios INSANE! it's a super strong units, but not fitting for quick games. Getting this buff I think it will shit the 4th age god, especially with gaia. in boom games lampades were already super strong.
@@pablolimbo3195 you got to see them zooming. Seeing people playing gaia and building all the houses in the same place, not spreading lush is like not using one of your god buffs
Hey mate, I'm a bloody beginner and would like to ask you some questions: - How do you play with Gaia in the 2nd and 3rd Age, what army comp do you use most of the time and do you play defensive? - What gods do you normally pick and what upgrades do you research? - When do you build a second TC? - How do you effectively use lush throughout the game? - Argus or Lampades for late game battles? I love Atlanteans as a Civ, but i struggle tomplay them to their strenghts (skill issue for sure). Do you think it's the hardest Civ to handle as a total beginner? I would appreciate some tips 😊
@arturhazel4568 hey there! Let's start from the beginning. I play both aggressively and defensively. Good or bad, atlantean pantheon is 95% situational and gaia is even more. I could break down situations, but it's damn hard to get you to a point where you can follow a strategy and always have solid results. For 2nd age, I almost always pick Leto. Mostly because i like automatons, BUT the healing factor of caladria is too much to bypass. The thing is, though, that if you go caladria, you start paving a more attack oriented game, plus you miss attack myth units in your first 10-15 mins, depending on the game.. on secont age I almost always go for behemoths. The birds and trees are good, but I love to have the beasts for siege damage. It takes too many destroyers to offset this. On forth age, i used to go with argus due to the buffs, but the lampades were and are by far the best age 4 late game myth unit. Especially having in mind that with gaia you can set your own pace throughout the game. Turtle or go full out. And you can do this faster than any other major atlantean god. As for lush. In my games, the entire map I control is always full of lush. I build houses out of my base, most of the time close or between farming places like hunt and/or gold, as you can garrison 2 vils in them. When you reach max villas, you go with the mills. The buff on lush size is CRAZY. As for 2nd tc, I only build it when I am comfortable or have any kind of breathing space/advantage. There is no need to go 2 tc to train vils. Just turn them to heroes. Also, USE vils in combat, they are super strong. In conclusion, atlanteans is by far the hardest faction to play, and the reason is their versatility and the non-existence of a set in stone strategy. For example, people who struggle with atlanteans but keep playing with them, when they go to greeks, they just destroy everyone. The game is too big for people, even with 500 games, to learn how to play. There are people in the top 100, and they have no idea about simple things in the game. I have seen 1500+ elo ra players not using ra abilities and buffs and then calling ra washed up and weak. I love gaia, which was the major i turned to once the aom titan came out 20 years ago, used to main poseidon. But it's a game in which you got to have a wide range of knowledge and understanding. It's similar to aoe2 in how you have to play the game, but it is far more unpredictable and versatile. And remember, build a market once you go age 3. Right away. Even making 20 gold per run, on lush, with a continuous line of caravans from market to tc, will fetch about 1200 gold per minute, while there will still be gold left in the map for you to go crazy. (In AoM gold is far more valuable than any other Ao Game)
maybe the nerf for centaur was smaller cause they wanna see how the buffs to other races will shake things up, and also fixing the favor bug with golden apples may affect poisedon and hades more than expected
meanwhile, me still hoping thor gets his pig sticker back at some point XD also, just thought abou something for both automatons and the Fenris brood: what if you got more than one upon aging up? Both after all are cheap (for their age) myth units that get a benefit that only matters when in a group made of said unit, so why not give you at least a pair when passing onto a new age, so you dont need to immediately invest in more in order to benefit from their unique traits? Overall its a small buff, but would make choosing them more immediately useful
I beg all the gods in every pantheon possible for them to finally fix all the desynchronization issues. Recently it seems every second match ends in the very middle of it because of that
kinda as both are purely economic gold powers... but with a few differences: -Ra needs to have farms set up for the power to do anything, Thor can make use of the mine at any point without any setup otehr than available gatehrers/dwarves (and even if not, the gold doesnt disappear after a bit while Ra's buff is timed) -Ra's power is less potent in the lategame, where your food production is already set up, meanwhile Thor creates an otherwise finite ressource out of thin air (out of trading and the risky caravans, and mining is just much better than caravans at generating gold ESPECIALLy with dwarves) -lastly, Ra's power benefits your opponent as well if he has farms too. Thor's gold mine however wil not benefit the enemy unless you place it HORRIBLY badly Overall, i think Ra's power is more comparable with isis's prosperity than with Thor's gold mine as temporary gather rate boosts, while thor's mine is more akin to odin's power, adding more ressources to the map for you to use
If you buff monuments with pharao and other monuments are in range, do the other monuments create more favor? If not, that would be an awesome Ra buff 💪
There are All in all many great qoL and balance changes in this patch. But one thing seems pretty strange to me. Maybe this is a lower elo thing but those atlantean heros felt very strong already given the fact that they can deal a lot of dmg (e.g. contarius hero which gets also a cost reduce on theia) and take way less dmg from myth units, which makes it almost impossible to build myth units against them. In Contrast to this u have greeks that only have their unique heroes, which are pretty strong but die quick when focus fired, which makes it almost impossible to counter myth units. This seems pretty imbalanced in my eyes idk
They need to fix the pathing badly. Every single game I have villagers that go idle when gathering resources. I also have villagers that go very far to chop wood even though there are trees right next to them.
Locust swarm works exactly as it’s intended and they’re tired of y’all trying to make it a fighty power. You’re meant to send a strike force in the middle of Age Three and get into their back lines of farms and let it work. It one shots farms and if used as intended could absolutely wreck someone’s mid game Econ. Edit: it also does a lot more damage to villagers than it first appears and some might not make it to that tower if they’re even paying attention enough
There's a 3 minutes promethean rush that's why and implode is already too powerful, better than earthquake for sure especially since it actually kills enemy units and it takes forever to cast.. the zoning potential is immense.
Bro I have never gotten value out of Implode? Also everytime enemy has used vs me it has done close to 0 damage. Compare that to meteor or vault of plenty where they are super impactful.
"Automatons are garbage" The Spiffing Brit disagrees There's a bug currently with automatons where you lose supply when they die, but you can still repair them. You can literally break the game by spamming them and having them die off and get repaired.
Well the win rate results are coming in and even with a basic 1000 elo filter seems like all Atlantans are top 4 gods now, and Loki stays tip top over everyone even with the nerf. And all of Egypt is bottom 4 though Zeus is last. Definitely feels like Atlantis got overbuffed and Egypt needs somthing now, would be good to look at Zeus and Loki too. At least ra is not deep last.
Maybe I’m just not experienced enough. But considering how helpless Atlanteans can be to early raids I find it weird people pass on Automatons. Are you sending them out? They stay home. Their whole point is “if you don’t kill all of them, you didn’t really kill any of them” since they’re the only unit in the game that can just revive. Of course they’re trash for early raids, they’re supposed to stay home. You can print them en mass so easily and if you invest just a hit into home defense I don’t see how any Age II civ is going to wipe you early. Hell even just hero-izing a few citizens to kill of a myth unit because Atlantean civi’s are fucking built different.
Think of gators like, cute little florida-Man pets. If ya feed em you can wear em as a necklace, they don't mind. Crocodiles tho.... grow to 5 meters, will grab your leg and do violent barrel rolls to mutilate it so that ya cant run away and become an immobile little snack. They have a cool sanctuary in Cairnes, Australia if ya visit, which I think would be fun for a lot of American tourists who have never seen a full size croc. Looks more like a myth unit than an actual feckin' animal lol.
Promethean are busted. you can rush and win with them at minute 3, or build them up just a little and have unkillable respawning tanks. so the nerf is good.
Disappointing patch notes.... Greek nerfs are too soft, Ra buffs could be way bigger cause u are not even sure if you will have access to the second berry resource, Norse nerfs no reason... Norse need buffs
Agree Greeks always escape nerfs this team loves them with a passion, if they can avoid it they will. Centaur has such an influence on the game hes easily one of the best eco harassers in the game right now. I was hoping this patch will bring everyone up to Greek level.
The purpose of the original design of Ra is Fast Heroic -> Camels. If they make changes, they need to be ones that make that more viable. The Berry one is a very minor step in that direction.

35:35 holy sheet lampades get a lot of divine damage and more range that's actually nice.
Automatons are only worth it for exceeding your pop cap.
They need to fix the pathing badly. Every single game I have villagers that go idle when gathering resources. I also have villagers that go very far to chop wood even though there are trees right next to them.
I just want the idle villie button to not find the villies in the Roc.
Prometean nerf is a response to the guy who cheesed prometeans rush with cronos
Locust swarm works exactly as it’s intended and they’re tired of y’all trying to make it a fighty power. You’re meant to send a strike force in the middle of Age Three and get into their back lines of farms and let it work. It one shots farms and if used as intended could absolutely wreck someone’s mid game Econ.
Edit: it also does a lot more damage to villagers than it first appears and some might not make it to that tower if they’re even paying attention enough
myth bro brining me the patch thank you sir
Good patch overall. There will allwasy be a top god or two dont, lets let it sit for a little.
I agree totally pharaoh should not be selected when he is empowering
Ra farm could just cost wood that make them unique
"Automatons are garbage"
The Spiffing Brit disagrees
There's a bug currently with automatons where you lose supply when they die, but you can still repair them.
Noooo my late game loki berserk spam
" Casing" undermine power 😂
Thank God for the Norse nerfs and esp Odin and Loki nefrs. I dont think Odin nerfs are enough too
Another already? I wish they would let the meta set before making more changes.
atlantean requires too much favor yet they generate them too slowly....
Their favor generation is fine, just get more oracles
They know they can't fix the Prometheans so they just want us to forget about them loll
I like small change
I just want to be able to actually play it on Xbox. It's impossible to play ranked with the lag and freezing
joke idea: for each female villager praying at a temple of Zeus, there is a chance to spawn a demigod (Hero)
Ra god power should just affect berry bushes as well. Done.
rain should affect berries
I don't think Atlantean heros need more damage vs myth though lol, I feel like massing myth vs atlantean is already suicide
LASER CROCS ALL DAY 😂😂
Isis already isn’t competitive for us Egyptian players, and they nerf her this hard?
This is stupid.
Not a fan of the Ra berry buff, doesn't fit his identity or theme
That is hard Nerv by Loki now this early myths raids von Greeks and kronus ist not more counter I'll....
All of this and I still cant play Skirmish against bots.
Promethean are busted. you can rush and win with them at minute 3, or build them up just a little and have unkillable respawning tanks. so the nerf is good.
Nooo my Prometheans are more useless
Disappointing patch notes.... Greek nerfs are too soft, Ra buffs could be way bigger cause u are not even sure if you will have access to the second berry resource, Norse nerfs no reason... Norse need buffs
Agree Greeks always escape nerfs this team loves them with a passion, if they can avoid it they will. Centaur has such an influence on the game hes easily one of the best eco harassers in the game right now. I was hoping this patch will bring everyone up to Greek level.
I agree. Hermes and Apollo should swap ages.
Nah it’s better to slowly adjust these things than start heavy nerfs or buffs. I do think ra needs work
I don't like the Ra buff. It's anti synergistic with his god power.
This god power compared to isis one is so useless
They should create a new one
At this rate maybe Rain gets reworked lmao idfk.
At this point, rain should buff the berries too
The purpose of the original design of Ra is Fast Heroic -> Camels. If they make changes, they need to be ones that make that more viable. The Berry one is a very minor step in that direction.
I been wrecking with controller, the macro is so easy
🖤🤍🎉🎊
Brother, dont you think 40 minutes is too much for a patch note summary? İt could've been a good content if it was 10 mins
Come on man... That's the Ra buff? berries? that's a friqqin joke... Ra still sucks then.
I think someone in the dev team hates Ra NGL.
is this guy understanding the game he is playing? not even knowing what divine damage is and how insane it is and stuff like this?
Why u so mad
@@user-bm7mo2ck6r im not mad, what makes you think Im mad? I asked a question.
Favor nerf so dumb. Completely clown nerf. Only Poseidon had a high winrate.
28:35 Honestly the free conversion to Berserk was kinda broken ngl
33:25 Deffinitely Implode feels SO underwhelming.
Starting to watch the vid now:
RA BUFFS LFGOOOOOO.
Edit: ehh i'll take it.....still no scout, still can't synergise with rain iunno.
I'll take Grant's Legacy of the PetSobek's becoming Beam Cannons though.
Also i freeging knew Greeks could get Favor nigh instantly.
Also apart from that Loki Bersekf/Ulfsark nerf that hurts, they + Poseidon just got slap on the wrists meh.
stormgate better game than this 20 yr old trash
Brah storm gate has 200 players……
