What is your ultralight set up?
6’6 TFO UL with a 1000 Daiwa regal for micro drop shot and jigs….and a 6’6 Ugly stik elite with a 1000 Okuma Ceymar ODT green for micro jerkbaits and crankbaits.
ancient fenwick rod, zebco cardinal3 reel with 3 lb mono. Bass pro featherlight with penn 716 greenie and 5 lb mono. Both line come from England.
17 Calcutta Conquest BFS .6 goh Sunline Siglon PEX4 line on a Jackson Kawasemi Rhapsody 4'11 Ultra Light rod
Temple Fork 6’ Trout and Panfish with Shimano Sahara 500 reel. 6# braid and 8# leader. I tried 4# leader and my old eyes can not see well enough to tie knots.
7ft canyon creek super ultralight with 10lb yozuri super braid and a Daiwa crossfire. I also use a 8lb mono leader. Its perfect for the 1/32 and bombs 1/8
Pre-rig your plastics onto the jigs and use a super slim fly box so you can leave the bags of plastics at home or in the car. And it saves time on the water.
I've got a double-sided box similar to that packed full of ultralight gear. Jigs, inline spinners, an insane amount of plastics, tiny crankbaits, all my hooks, bobber, swivels, split shot, kastmasters you name it it's in there. It's insane just how much you can carry in an ultralight box
Thanks for this. Some of my most fun days fishing are when I got out with a single rod and tackle focused on a single thing. I take my sit-inside to quiet water. Find the fish, and make it work! It's so satisfying, and relaxing - I'm not in my head wondering what I should be throwing. Just throwing what I have.
Love taking ultra light day trips. Great video guys.
The smallest amount of tackle I’ve ever used and caught a truckload with was whatever I could fit in a mini altoids tin. Micro cranks like the strike king bitsy minnow or whatever it’s called, panther martins/rooster tails, a few jig heads and small plastics.
I have a defy silver 6 1/2 foot rod with a shimano seinna 1000 reel. I actually started doing this with my zman and mule fishing plastics last year when wading creeks so I could take less stuff. I usually don't change lures that much anyways when I wade so it just makes since to take what works for me. I would have to include a small popper and maybe a beetle spin also. 👊👍
Thanks to you guys I started using Mule Fishing products awhile back. I like all of Ethans products. When I go super light, I use a 5' Falcon UL with a 500 Lew's micro lite. But that may change as I just received my AAA UL a few days ago. So thanks for the video and what you do. Have a great 2024.
🙌
Whoooo!
Love MULE fishing, I interviewed Ethan on my channel very cool guy.
Thank you!!! A few bags of Mule Fishing baits, putting a few of your favorite colors into one bag and you are good to go for multi species fishing anywhere!!
Facts
Good stuff guys! Can’t wait for my Mule fishing gear to show up.
I'm digging that Old Town hoodie. I need to cop one.
It’s super comfortable too!
Thanks guys great video I don’t have any mule gear but that’s Fixn to change great looking baits and tackle 👍
Yaasssss
I'd start with the donkey tail and some 3/32 jigs. Grab you some burrow bugs too. 💯🔥
@@Dj.fishing084 I sure will thanks for the advice 👍
I’ve been using weekend family walks to scout out new stream spots for UL fishing come spring. Definitely planning on more wet wading this year.
Love you guys 😂you truly make my day big fan thanks
Another alternative for storing leader is Walmart sells this little spools of mono for around a buck that are the same diameter as those tenkara line holders. I like em for my mini setup.
Your missing the ultralite crankbaits and topwater lures then you’ll be complete!
Yeah In my mule box I have a couple of cranks and micro jerkbait in there
A couple faster action sub 6' for spinners and jigs, and a 7'6" Okuma SST for drift and float.
Love the micro storage theme. Maybe an on the water video with a gear tweaking follow-up? Also if I wasn't such a gear-ho, I always thought it's be fun to go out with just white, and a few Spike-it markers. Happy New Year.
And you don’t have to cut the plastic dividers 🙌🙌
Thank you guys I am going to get some stuff from mule fishing
You won't regret it
Mule fishing products are awesome. The green pumpkin donkey tail jr catchs fish when nothing else does.
Another great video guys! Appreciate you! Happy New Years! Unfortunately, I don't currently have an ultra-light set-up currently.
... yet
Mule Fishing box is awesome and has become my UL go to with jigs in the foam side and UL cranks/jerkbaits/poppers in the compartments. That said, if aiming for a minimalist experience, look at the Gruv micro jig box. That thing is pretty sweet too. Smaller than Ethan's and can't hold as much, but it's what I was using up until I got Ethan's gem. But I like having the kitchen sink with me, so the Mule box goes with me now :)
Has gruv improved their magnet latch? I did not like that when I had a couple of their boxes.
@@aaanglers - I haven't used any of their other boxes so can't say if it's improved or not. It's still pairs of magnets holding the lid on at the corners, but the setup works pretty well on the micro box. I can see how it might potentially not hold the lid as well on larger boxes, but for the micro I've found that it worked quite well for me. Had no issues with it at all.
ive got one dedicated bag for my ultra lite stuff including cranks
Went straight to Mule and got 2 boxes right away once I saw it in your hands. Than continued the video to hear what you had to say about it 😂
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nice!
thought Paul was gonna break into some "Mambo No 5" at the end...a little bit of terminal, a little bit of tackle, a little bit of Monica in my life 🎶
Bahaha
I used a simms 1gal size waterproof sling bag
I’ve never waterlogged a MF bait but I did tear one to bits one time and it was still catching fish. You guys should do a very similar video to this but for bass fishing! Hardbaits, jigs,Ect
Good idea!
But when will ethan come out with the mule runner?! Aka small crank bait
Mule fishing is the bees knees.
Love the live brackets. I own 4 kayaks one for every situtaion (One is an inflatable). I am in other Kayak realted groups. I bass fish only and also own a bass boat. I was on a chat when someone asked the best pedal kayak. It was easy to answer 3 of the top 4 on the backet were my picks too. However it got me thinking. What is the best everything pedal/paddel Kayak. So instead of having 4 I could have one. One with pedals, that can mount a motor. Yet still is light like my throw and go Pelican. Padddles like my 14 FT Jackson cuda. Stable and pedals like my BKC pedal. Can you have a live bracket for best over all. I think it must pedal. I get the motor thing. However you can not take a motor everywhere.
OT Sportsman 106, IMO. It's light enough to work with a bixpy, pedals fast, paddles well and you can stand in it. It's heavier than a pelican but the tradeoffs are too good
Other next best may be a skiff
I got my AAA rod last week. It seems sweet but haven’t got it on the water yet.
🤌🏼
I want to a full time fishing kit in my pickup center console. This setup is great but I’m unsure what small rod I should get.
Monsterbass makes a great UL 😅
I bought the Daiwa presso travel rod 5’6” size along with Daiwa exceler lt 1000 reel for this exact reason. I keep a 20 pack of inline spinners with it so I can grab and go at a moments notice if I see something I want to fish. It’s nice having a 4 piece pole can literally stash it anywhere and nobody will know it’s there
Have a question about BFS baitcasters, do you stick to the rod specs for line weight, diameter, or go up, down? Always wanting to go up a bit to get through hangs in grass etc, bit more cutting through power going up in lbs?
Generally yes, stick to rod specs. That said, BFS line is a little different. We haven't done a video on it, but lots of BFS line videos exist on TH-cam. I would do a quick search to get some advice.
I’m thinking about buying one of those Mule boxes. Will it actually fit in the front waders pocket?
Depends on the waders. Fits in my reddingtons and Pauls Simms
When are the rods supposed to ship I have emailed monster bass twice now with no reply.
They have been shipping. I know quite a few folks have gotten theirs already
How long are you taking pre orders on your guys’ rod?
Until the site says sold out. Not sure exact date or quantity
@@aaanglers sounds good. Appreciate the quick respo
If you hate saying Temu what did you do multiple videos promoting Temu?
Not sure you watched those videos man... Definitely didn't promote them. Not talking about something doesn't make it go away. Tried to show it was not a value.
@@aaanglers oh my bad lol.
Or just do like our grandaddies did as kids.....a rod with a hook on it and a pocket full of earthworms :)
Me and my best friend many years ago would go camping out in the mountains in Oregon and always went fishing all day long, we gained the habit of "travel with what you got in you pockets" and carrying only a rod we would fish the creeks and rivers all day long catching all kinds of trout, steelhead and salmon on ultralight gear.
It sure is a rush fighting a 50+ pound salmon on 6 pound line and a tiny blue fox spinner. 😂
Nice!
