I fully understand and appreciate that you have a big makeup collection. Because when you do product reviews you also do a lot of comparison swatches from your collection and I find it very helpful to make decisions what to purchase or skip. Also, thank you for the organized declutter, it was much easier to digest compared to a traditional one 💜
My husband asked me the other day why I keep buying stuff and never use it? I can totally relate to your statement about buying it all and never enjoying it only to find out it has gone bad when I get to it! 2023 - Here is to getting better about using what I have and not buying more of the same thing! Thanks for the video! Have a great day!
This was AMAZING. I loved the format too. You got to the point and simply showed us the end result of what you're decluttering and what you're keeping. Thank you!!
I enjoyed the format of this video! It was a good breakdown of what you were doing and why. Have you considered doing shop-my-stash videos, showing us what makeup you might be picking to use for the day/week?
The labels on the products was so satisfying and you had great organization. I would love a ranking video of your Charotte Tilbury quads, ND palettes, etc.
This is one of the most organized declutters I’ve ever seen. I normally can’t make it through an entire declutter video because it’s always all over the place (or at least the few that I follow). Really great to hear some quick thoughts on what you kept and ditched. 👍🏽
What an incredible job! Really appreciating all the effort you put into creating this video. It was much more digestible than many other declutter videos and it was nice to hear why you were letting things go and why you were keeping them! …as a side note I often get a little anxious when I watch declutter because I’m not sure how long products really last compared to the expiry date.
Awww, I think the Natasha Denona Mini palettes are perfect for travel. I actually want to add more to my collection. I was sorry I didn't bring them with me on our Mexico trip in October. I love declutter videos, thanks for sharing!
I don’t usually watch declutters but I enjoy your energy. I look forward to seeing you being more « careful » this coming year. That will be challenging because your channel depends on featuring new releases - and many times, it’s hard to pre-order shades based on how they look online, especially blush and lipstick. Buying most or all shades is sometimes the only way.
Hi Sophia! I actually enjoy seeing the process of elimination, usually over a few videos, but hey, You do you! You did cover all the bases. I love how organized everything is and that you feel better about your collection. I find it hard to declutter. It seems like what works for me is ever changing, with our extreme climate and the aging process, not to mention tastes. So having a certain amount of variety suits me. 😊
Yes I know what you mean! And I’m that kind of person that likes to have that variety based on my mood. I like the freedom of having lots of colors and finishes 🤩
Hi love my estee lauder coloured eyeliners , they are pencil liners but they come in pencil form so need to sharpened but perfect for me after my eye surgery as they can be sanitised by sharpening , mascara i only buy two charlotte Tilbury upper lash and mac lower lash i buy travel size and dispose after 8 weeks, liquid eyeliners i buy charlotte Tilbury but i still dispose after 3 months, that works for my surgeon who is really extremely careful about my eye makeup, eyecare is another matter which is personal to me.
I love a good declutter . Great job. I think this is the year a lot of people are going to be more conscious about what they are bringing into their collections. I know I am. Makeup is becoming too expensive to just buy and not use it. Thanks for sharing it with us ❤
Thank you for validating my decision to toss all of my Patrick ta eyeliners! They were so dry and ick on me! I will only buy VB and CT eyeliners now ( best for tight lining). I also love ND work and set pot eyeliner in brown- makes a great mini wing!
I actually really loved this format!! I love your collection:) I don’t have a big collection but every now and then I give things to my mom since I know she would enjoy more then me (to things i barely use ). For example, i had a one mini from Natasha, which I didn’t use .
Hey Sophia, I really enjoy declutter videos so I was excited to see yours. While it can be hard to let go of products at the end it’s refreshing to have room for the products you will actually enjoy and room for something new. Also, the products don’t last forever so it kinda makes me appreciate the products I have and love before they expire.❤
Hi you have done well , i have a large charlotte Tilbury collection of lipsticks ! i really do wear them but i have a similar amount of Tom Ford too lipsticks , so yes i must use them too . but i have just bought a new collection of charlotte Tilbury of collagen lip baths i love those .
This was so fun to watch!! I just threw out some cream blushes today, they were like 4+ yr old 🫠 It was fun to see what you kept! Love the labeling too 🤩🤩
This is a good video to stop buying less make up. I have just seen the new Chanel palettes have been released but apart from green and maybe white I have all the shades already, I should just mix them together
I learned from this declutter video to stay away from "Colour Pop" products! This declutter format on the reasons why you kept or got rid of items was thoughtfully organized. I also enjoyed hearing what items are being phased out and what may make a return.
I loved this!! It’s fun seeing your collection!! I love ColourPop!! I have the power puff girls too!! 😂 the blushes are still some of my favorite! So many good things I love you have! Such a good one!!!🤗💕
Thank you so much!! Haha I know I love the little Power Puff Girls one 😅 I got all the little hair clips and wear them all the time around the house! hahaha
Agreed. I over consumed during the psndemic and regretted it. It's overwhelming. I miss my mimalistic days. However, I do love variety and enjoy the things I have. I now have a better idea of what I like and don't like. It's a balance.
Ooh, I actually really like the way you did this! I’m sure cutting out all the deliberation kept it from being a 2 hour video. 😂 Also…GIRL, SEND ME THAT WG FOUNDATION RIGHT NOW!!!
Thank you, Sofia, for giving reasons for why you are getting rid of your products. It helps to understand your rationale regarding makeup. Which, in turn, helps us curate our own collections. I am disappointed Le Volume de Chanel does not work for you. 😢
Loved this @Sofia!! Your organised and logical approach to the decluttering and method of explaining it in this video (a skill not to be underestimated!!!) taps right into my type A control freak analytical personality 😊 I’m inspired to use your psychological approach to decluttering - I mean I still have my wedding day lipstick from 2004 (haven’t used it since the day)!!! I also have a lot of the GA lipsticks and lip shines that I loved but these formulas are all now discontinued. I haven’t been able to part with them as some of the colours were my most favourite ever, but I haven’t used them since about 2015….I keep telling myself I’m keeping them for dupe research purposes….😳I need to change my hoarder mindset and get rid of them and just enjoy the newer lip products I have. One thing I struggle with is I keep all my luxury palettes in the packaging - like for Chanel and TF eyeshadows they come with the protectors inside the box. Do you keep any of this stuff???? Doesn’t look like it. I’m getting a label maker this weekend as I like the way you label and store your palettes/blushes etc with labels and no packaging. I could free up heaps of room doing this 😂 I also have so much brand new makeup never used and still in the packaging….such a waste so I’m going to start using them or gift to people and really limit what I buy for at least the next 6 months (excluding rebuying basics that I use up like concealer & foundation). Another good point you have made is about buying backups.. I have stopped this now as all it has done is left me with a lot of doubles of unused and/or too old items that need to be chucked. Quality over quantity for sure moving forward and just working on keeping a nicely curated collection of products I truly love and enjoy 😊
Some good practices and goals you are picking up this year! Baby steps. I like having a big collection too and those little rules for myself prevent me from wasting. I am a very sentimental person (I’m a Pisces haha) so I understand your attachment to things. I love saving little momentos (I have a couple of little things like my Nars orgasm blush that lasted me through high school 😂. I don’t use it I just keep it for the memories). I don’t keep any of the packaging. I can’t even stand the little foam applicators in the luxury compacts but I keep them 😆 but I know some people like it for organization or because it kind of makes the product feel new like a gift
I just did a major makeup declutter, and I was laughing about how similar my choices were to yours. One great thing I tried, because I heard it from another influencer, was getting a soft artist's pencil box from Amazon to hold my lip and eye liners. Genius! I have mine in cups like yours, but soon they will be sorted by color and brand. Just Think how much time that will save! And all for $20-30. Thanks for the video.💚
Love this video and SAME with the CT concealer! I got sooooo hyped for that one and it was a HUGE no for me. Horrible applicator but beyond that-that concealer literally looked like I put soft chewing gum on my face. It was awful!!!
Sofia, do you ever return a product if you really don’t like it or it’s a color that definitely doesn’t go? Well done with the de clutter, you did better than a lot of other TH-camrs who literally don’t get rid of anything.
Yes absolutely. I return products all the time if it’s something that just 100% is something that I don’t like. Usually it’s things I get from Sephora because it’s easy for me to return. But in the grand scheme of all that I buy, I end up returning not that much
I did enjoy this and your practical explanations! It made me realize that I did a really good job of buying just the best with really excellent guidance because I mostly have the things you kept:) I am decluttering the NARS light Reflecting Foundation because I just realize I don’t like it. It does look better over the day as it melds with the little bit of natural oils that I have but I think it really exaggerated my dry textured spots so much initially that I wanted to take it off. I’d rather just wear something like the Chanel No 1 that I enjoy right away:)
Just send those eyeshadows right to me, I'll make nail polish out of them. I think you can also create paints with those pigments, I would love to experiment with some of those wow colors!!! ❤😍
Oh… so sad… I don’t know how you didn’t find the connection with Chanel de volume mascara! :) this is my favorite mascara for many, many years :) I also use it with Chanel eyelash primer, and that’s not only makes my eyes look beautiful, I feel like it's also taking care of my lashes :) Anyway :) thanks for the great video!!!
Hi Sofia! I like this kind of video. :) I just notice you don’t have Sisley eyeliners (matte formula is very good and sparkling formula is opposite), Hermes lip oils and lipsticks (both very good), Sisley loose and pressed powder (extremely good for people with normal and dry skin), Sisley foundations (light to medium coverage, skin like look and very good quality), Sisley concealer (amazing). But you have a lot from any category and probably you don’t need more.:) I still waiting for Sonia G makeup brushes review. :)
Thank you for the suggestions Alina! The only thing I do have but is on a special tray that I didn’t show are my 3 Hermes lipsticks 😜 I do want to try Sisley more especially the foundation

I’m so glad! I’ll be doing more GRWM video this year with different themes where I use more of my collection
Yes, I would love to see a video of shop my stash!
The labels on the products was so satisfying and you had great organization. I would love a ranking video of your Charotte Tilbury quads, ND palettes, etc.
Will do! I def need to do that 😏
This was such a thoughtfully explained and organized declutter ... Both enjoyable and cautionary!
I’m so glad you liked it!! 😅🤩
I usually don't like decluttering videos, but I do like the structure you gave to this one, it was enjoyable!
Yay! Appreciate you leaving me this feedback! 🤗
Sofia, can you please link your beautiful chanel earrings?
I am not sure there is anyway I can link them since Chanel doesn’t have ecommerce
Loved this video!!❤️ It was thoughtful and different than a lot of other declutters! I really enjoyed this format 😊
I'm so glad! 😇
I just did a declutter! It feels sooo good 🌸Thank you for showing us! 🌸Great video🌸

Good practices Elizabeth to remind us to keep things fresh and sanitized. I started being a lot more careful with my brushes the past year
I prefer this style then the typical style on youube

I guess it is all in the way you look at things, they ‘overconsume’ so that (often times) we don’t have to. 😊
Xo
Just feels like conspicuous consumption for consumptions sake and staying ahead of the competition. I get it but as a viewer, it's exhausting.
Not all content is suitable to everyone's taste. No one is forced to watch content that doesn't suit them.
It's a double edged sword though because we want reviews on new products so they have to expand their own collection for us.
And just what is wrong with pink Sofia?? 🤣🌸💖
