I bought a product a couple years ago and didn’t pay attention to what it was and thought it was a gloss/lipstick. It wore beautifully and stayed put for a long time and wasn’t sticky. Imagine my surprise when a few months later I saw a video of someone using it and discovered it was a liquid eyeshadow. 😂
Before I started watching Nikki uncut, I didn’t realize how much editing go into making these TH-cam makeup videos. So I always felt incompetent when doing a full face of makeup because I felt it took too long. I would beat myself up when it exceeded 30mins 😢. Now watching Nikki, a professional makeup artist and more, doing her own makeup, I feel seen, heard, consoled and celebrated 😅😅thank you Nikki, you are an amazing human and an inspiration 😊🥰👌🏽

I very much like when you include the skin care too because you always have such great skin prep that it allows your makeup to glide across the skin and looks so seamless usually, so knowing what you did to get that base prior to your actual base is real helpful.

I'll be honest, I rotate my bag weekly if not daily. I have a lot of makeup, and it's all stuff I purchased because I really wanted to use it. I may feel like wearing glitter one day, matte the next, full coverage one day but a powder foundation or skin tint the next... I just like to play! My makeup time is my fun time every single day and gives me that one thing to enjoy no matter what kind of day I otherwise wind up having, and every night when I go to bed I look forward to what products I'll get to play with the next day. Life is often stressful; playing with makeup is just plain fun.
I have the dragon palette from Hourglass as well and use the top left powder as a last step to set under my eyes, middle of the forehead and chin and it’s so magical. Keeping my fingers crossed that you pick up and review some products from the latest MAC nude collection. I just grabbed the lipstick in “Alone Time”. and NOW I’m on a makeup no-buy for 2025 😂 really trying to use up what I have and stick to only 2-3 brands that I love. Obviously your job is to review products from a wide range of brands so I don’t expect you or anyone else to do what I do but there’s just something satisfying to me about using products/formulations from one brand & seeing how they all work together. I’m in the midst of a two-month journey to revamp my makeup. This winter has emphasized that my skin is aging. (I turned 65 in 2024). I’ve been devouring your videos for help. I have had to completely change my skincare regimen. I bought the Estée Lauder blockbuster and fell in love with the Advanced Night Repair, especially for my eyelids, which have gotten very dry and crinkly. The benefit is softer and glowing skin after years of my not noticing my skin was dull and drab. But I have to do the regimen every night. 🙄 I’ve changed to EL double wear foundation although I still have l’Oreal Infallible and Fenty Blur tint (but that’s not enough coverage). I love this foundation after years of making do. I’m playing with eyeshadow and mascara, which I haven’t used since my 40s. That’s a steep learning curve, and I’m fighting fall-out and using the wrong moisturizer under the powder. I bought Paint Pot to counter that. I’m still having trouble with mascara that clumps and flakes. The Milani baked blush is too dry. Concealer is a mystery to me. L’Oreal has four great shades that I will still use. I’ve found 2 Iredale lipsticks that work. I tried a Clarins red-case Joli lipstick, but it feels gritty going on and dried my lips out. Does it need a lip oil? Your videos have been a GREAT help, and your personality and humor and candidness is very welcoming. The time you take, instead of rushing through, lowers my stress about learning new makeup techniques. Thank you so much. 🎉

I have super dry skin and absolutely love the Patrick Ta foundation! I love that it’s luxury but doesn’t have fragrance, can be sheared out and built up, great undertone options etc. Really love it!
NIKKI, you know what really helps my dry skin is to have a big pot of water boiling in the kitchen for steam to keep the moisture in the house during the winter months. Try it!

So so true about the undertones. Coming from someone who is so blue cool it’s not even funny, very hard to find exact shade matches. Shiseido has been my go to lately.

I have been loving the Kinship Hyaluronic moisturizer. It’s so hydrating and creamy yet lightweight. The it cosmetics nude glow foundation is also a good glowy foundation!!

I found that Hourglass Unreal Blushes are made for my winter skin. No one has a formula like that and no other blush makes my cheeks as youthful and plump like these do. I adore these.

Mascara is one of my nonnegotiable makeup items! I was watching Angelica Nylist yesterday. She used the new mascara from Gourmande Girls and WOW it looked so amazing on her lashes and I don’t typically ever say that when someone or myself uses a new mascara for the first time. This was such a great video and idea! I would LOVE to see a video regarding olive skin tones, both darker and lighter than you. It's such a gap (as far as I know) as far as products (foundations especially!), and I have no doubt you can help so many of us. I always tend to chose yellow based warm foundations as "neutrals" often lean pink an ashy. The Olive in Patrick Ta's is so great on me, but maybe a little dark as winter continues. Once you see a really great match, it's hard to go back to "acceptable" lol. Thank you for all of your time and dedication!

I would love a new travel make up video! Especially what you take on the plane in your carry on. My skin is dry but oily and I have acne break outs. Have tried the Dior backstage but it still leaves dry patches on my skin even with much skincare and primer. What else can you recommend? Especially for spring/summer (so lightweight but not too dry?)
I've just started going through my home makeup stash, and decluttering what's old, not working for me, etc. i have new storage arriving Friday for my makeup, so need to make sure it's all only loved and needed products. So hard, lol!

I have been using the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen and have been loving it. It looks great under my makeup and it also has zinc in it. I've noticed when I look up the sunscreens you use/recommend they don't have zinc. I was taught that is the most important ingredient to look for.

So so true about the undertones. Coming from someone who is so blue cool it’s not even funny, very hard to find exact shade matches. Shiseido has been my go to lately.

I have been loving the Kinship Hyaluronic moisturizer. It’s so hydrating and creamy yet lightweight. The it cosmetics nude glow foundation is also a good glowy foundation!!

You totally turned me on to pink blush and a pink lip with a brown liner! Never liked it before I used the brown liner. I have your skin tone and alone the pink did not look good as I have naturally pretty pigmented lips and the pink alone was too light. The liner makes it a game changer. thank you so much for all your tips!

I found that Hourglass Unreal Blushes are made for my winter skin. No one has a formula like that and no other blush makes my cheeks as youthful and plump like these do. I adore these.

Mascara is one of my nonnegotiable makeup items! I was watching Angelica Nylist yesterday. She used the new mascara from Gourmande Girls and WOW it looked so amazing on her lashes and I don’t typically ever say that when someone or myself uses a new mascara for the first time. I think a mascara is at its best after a few days of being open. I would recommend you checking it out girlie ☺️

This was such a great video and idea! I would LOVE to see a video regarding olive skin tones, both darker and lighter than you. It's such a gap (as far as I know) as far as products (foundations especially!), and I have no doubt you can help so many of us. I always tend to chose yellow based warm foundations as "neutrals" often lean pink an ashy. The Olive in Patrick Ta's is so great on me, but maybe a little dark as winter continues. Once you see a really great match, it's hard to go back to "acceptable" lol. Thank you for all of your time and dedication!

I would love a new travel make up video! Especially what you take on the plane in your carry on. My skin is dry but oily and I have acne break outs. Have tried the Dior backstage but it still leaves dry patches on my skin even with much skincare and primer. What else can you recommend? Especially for spring/summer (so lightweight but not too dry?)
I've just started going through my home makeup stash, and decluttering what's old, not working for me, etc. i have new storage arriving Friday for my makeup, so need to make sure it's all only loved and needed products. So hard, lol!

I have been using the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen and have been loving it. It looks great under my makeup and it also has zinc in it. I've noticed when I look up the sunscreens you use/recommend they don't have zinc. I was taught that is the most important ingredient to look for.
