Me and my husband are really enjoying your channel. We just discovered it, and the reason we like it is because it’s not a fake channel like so many Alaskan living channels are. Thank you for keeping your channel real. Looking forward to watching all your videos.
Hi from Dave in North Pole, AK. I want to congratulate your whole family as you all work together toward building your homestead. Lily, if I ever have a grand daughter, I hope she is just like you! Stay safe and may God bless you all. Dave
Thanks for your support Dave! Yes Lily is a hard worker for 12 yrs old... I am just thankful she enjoys learning with me. She has no phone and doesn't game. I think that helps her engage in learning new things..." real" things! Lol.
Your greenhouse is looking good. Those tomato hornworm are creepy & will destroy a plant in no time! I clip them in half & feed them to the lizards 🦎 🤣 Lily is gonna be a master gardener before to long! We had a dog like your when I was growing up, he was our duck hunting dog. See ya next time 😊
Oh my goodness I just hate those things....I have tried to mentally "accept" worms but I just can't! Lol. Oh well! Thank you for watching. Lily has been a huge help gardening this year, so nice. I am hoping for a red tomatoe soon!!
I’m so happy your garden is doing so well❤. You all deserve a great crop of all your plants because you’re all such hard working family. Excellent video always happy to see a new video pop up. That looks like a heritage tomato and Lily you are fantastic in the garden 👏👏👏👏👏
Well thank you! Honestly Lily has been such a huge help in the greenhouse! I am thankful she is so hands on and willing to help with a good attitude. I think the plants know this ! ...Lol.
@@Alaskan6pack huge cabbages . looking at it remained me of my mother .When I was little she use to tell me she found me in a cabbage patch under a leaf. Lol
Lmao you made me go back in memory lane. My mom would always have me go take off the tomato worms. She hated them. I thought they were cute. Haha. I hate spiders.
Well I am more like your mom then! Ha. That's funny....I love spiders. Funny how everyone is so different. Well I guess the good news is I have not seen any green things yet...I will literally run out of the greenhouse if I see one... lol. I am not kidding...!
Thank you! So the crazy thing on the agriculture " patent" that we have to meet is...once the state signs off , you can then purchase the land if you choose and they really don't check up on you again. I found that interesting. We will probably apply for the hoop house program through FSA and if that goes through they DO check in for up to 5 yrs or so...to make sure you are doing as promised... Either way we are very committed to growing our food so we know it's " actually " food! ....lol
Just a suggestion when hanging up the shirt on the clothesline. Take the shirt, hang from the bottom and clothespin at the side seams. Less wrinkles too
I love love learning the older traditional ways!! Those are the tried and true ways that worked for many many years... without all the gadgets, frills, and apps! Lol.
Will do! I will do a post in a couple days showing updated garden. Jeff said they look way better and have much more room now. Wow lots of huge leaves came off! Like elephant ears! Lol
Yes, glad to know I am not alone!!! I have tried everything to mentally "accept" those little things, but it's just not going to happen...oh well. I just carefully avoid eye contact with anything like that as I work! Lol.

I thought about my grandma when you hung the shirts. She had a very strict way of hanging laundry to ensure it dried with the lease ironing needed. ❤🎉
Oh...how awesome....
Those wooden clothes pins were hard to find! We got the last box at Walmart!
They work so well for many things
Lilly is turning into quit the homesteader-gardener. She's growing up to fast. Your kids seem always eager to help. Great parenting.
Oh you are nice. We try our best!

How about a tour of the cabin????
If you remove those oldest leaf on the cabbage it will help you develop bigger heads. You can also eat the big leaf. Cook them
Oh I didn't know that....great gardening tip!

Another good video! Looks like your well has good pressure. After you have the ag land cleared is there a stipulation on it's usage?

You should always use a metal trash can for the stuff that comes out of your wood stove. It is safer this way.
You are very correct! It is so cold here today in Alaska we have a fire going right now in our wood stove....
Just a suggestion when hanging up the shirt on the clothesline. Take the shirt, hang from the bottom and clothespin at the side seams. Less wrinkles too
Oh I like that suggestion! Thank you. I will try that next time. It sounds better already...! Less wrinkles is always best
