I dont understand why anyone could give this man thumbs down. He is a hard worker, probably providing for his family, and i find him very intellegent. I would like to meet you donn but we live in different countries.
People do it so they dont get anymore of these vids on their recommended. If you don't TH-cam will think that since you watched some of it you must want more of it.
looking forward to a sawmill build, id recommend getting a taste for hydraulics by building a loading ram and maybe a log turner, its not as complicated as people make it seem
It is common European spruce or also known as Norway spruce (Picea abies) over the pond. It seems to be died in forest and dried standing up. Such kind of wood if cut not too late is actually better than modern raw cut and kiln dried wood because it has less cracks in it and is more stable.
Spruce, like Koit Kõiveer said. There was two trees fallen down with the storm. One of them was dry and dead and I could only use the top half of it since the trunk was already rotten. The other one was fresh and I could harvest most of it. We'll see how good are these logs in general when I get them on the sawmill. I let them stay on the ground for too long. Should've come to them sooner.
Thank you Koit and Donn! Great videos! Very interesting to see your projects as well as your part of the world. Many inspiring ideas, keep up the great work!
Cheers man! That's spruce. The ones I loaded onto the trailer while having a flat tire were green and heavy as. Other ones dried and dead in the forest and easier to maneuver around.
You better give that chainsaw operator a stern talking to for not cleaning the branches properly at the stem ;-) Take care with your back and those lifts. Your snowclearing blade for the ATV would be a good tool to move the logs into position instead of doing it like a real man would. What are you planning with those logs?
Hahaa! The branch cutter was me unfortunately, no-one else to blame on that matter. :D I want to cut them into boards with my sawmill I haven't built yet. :D
I admire your effort and ambition. But several hours of work could be done in a fraction of the time with a moderate size older used tractor with a front loader on it. Sometimes it's better to spend the money instead of spending the time.
Well yeah, I agree completely. But then again using the ATV timber trailer in an abusive way like I did helps to get rid of the bugs and improve the design. ;)
You are such a hard working man
That little trailer with the hoist is awesome! Amazing what you can do with that.

Flat tread tires are more capable In holding weight above ground. The round ones you run are more for play.
Closest I get to logging is my bathroom, you're a good man!👍🏼
Hahaha! 😁
Oh, your poor back. So inspiring to see you work so hard. It will all be worth it when you start slabbing those beauties!
Yeah. I want to cut'em up already.
👍👍👍
Nice work and the little crane did his job.
Yup, it was seriously overloaded though. :)
That 3d log is so good
That remote control is money💪
Yup. Absolutely. Without it I would be in deep shait. :D
That's a sweet setup.

Nice channel👍🏻
Cheers man!
Nice!!!
did you make that bark scraper aswell ?
Привет можно спросить у вас? Что за зверёк на 4 колёсах?
Just a tip put some tubeless sealant in your tyres it will save a lot of heartache does for me anyway.
That's a good idea. Keeps the tire sealed against the rim even at a low pressure.
Gestes et postures man...
Luego de limpieza y organización y acopio de los troncos . No quieres hacer más nada! 😰

I'll look into the hydraulics but will probably change things around ten times while building the mill. We'll see. ;)
Great work!
Cheers!
Don’t know if it’s your mic, but those logs sound hollow lol
Nice video
Thanks!
Thats how you get ya bark
Donn, without trying to be ignorant, what kind of trees did you harvest?

Для чего ты почистил бревна? Что ты будешь из них изготавливать?
Доски.
Good to see you back in action Donn, looking forward to the new sawmill build. Is that Larch?
Cheers man! That's spruce. The ones I loaded onto the trailer while having a flat tire were green and heavy as. Other ones dried and dead in the forest and easier to maneuver around.
@@DonnDIY здравствуйте,твои видио все интересные,но сожелнию я не понимаю,но всеровно смотрю,😂

Tubli töö, jätka samas vaimus!
Tänud! Ja suured tänud vaatamast. ;)
Gonna kick the trailer tires before loading it up next time?
I should, yeah. Whether I do it or not, I can't tell. :D
where you live? In which country ??
Estonia.

Why don't you build a machine for this? 😋
We have spining wheels here.
So how long does this game of Jenga Last?
If only there were tall strong objects that grow naturally so you could winch yourself out of that hole. Jk
That trailer is amazing.
Could've done that for sure. I just didn't want to damage the flat tire by pulling the trailer further with the load on. ;)

peeling went quick , were did you get your rain suit from Donn ?
Coefficient of friction between two somewhat old logs that freshly lost their bark: -0.2
maybe it would have been easier, if you´ve but smaller logs underneath :D but nice vid
Maybe indeed. ;D I was struggling on this day anyway, couldn't think straight at all. :D
Why did u de bark them
Keeping the moisture from getting trapped underneath the bark.
Doesn't that put a lot of weight on the ball of the atv?
It does, but then again, I don't haul that much wood at once ever. Just this time. :D
Сруб будет?
!!!!
Daca ar fi să vinzi ATV ul cu cat l-ai vinde?

buy a small tractor, quad is shit
I have a couple of tractors, I still prefer a quad for work like this. Trailer is just overloaded, that's all.
as you want ;)
