I absolutely agree that how this song is staged on the night will certainly be important in view of getting (tele)votes. However, as you say: it is a really good song, very deep and will resonate with just about everyone (as we all deal with... Life, the struggles of Growth) this song will probably be memorable regardless of where it ends: top, middle or bottom. But it's genuine, it's relatable and it;'s about the song (and the voice.... mmmm)

If he'd just sang one line in the end there, no music, that'd have hit home and felt like an ending rather than have people going 'Uh... is that... it?' I do love these less over the top/simple performances.

It's a good song but I don't think it's gonna win personally. It takes a while to build up but doesn't hold it quite long enough. I really like the abrupt ending but it came too soon

That has always been the goal of the Netherlands the last couple of years. Making good music that is meant for more than just this one performance.
I love the song. Contemporary and soulfull. Its not a sing-a-long song. But then it can give you hope in dark times. #openup
