Hmm, personally I think modern Nintendo looks more and more like they operate differently than in the past. I believe they have fully conceded to the fanbase now. They can still iterate on the RPG formula and make it fresh and new.

If they make a bad Paper Mario game after this, I'll put ALL my money toward Bug Fables, no question.

I mean having the same gameplay loop can get stale, but that's why you build and innovate on that gameplay loop to make to keep it fresh and interesting.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of, is that the Thousand Year Door Remake is merely fanservice. Not a sense of direction for the franchise. Although other Paper Mario's has their place in the fandom. My favorite core mechanic will definitely always be the Character development with partners and the overall written Story, something that I think has been lacking, and that I hope they'll take an example of from the Thousand Year Door to incorporate for the next Paper Mario

I want a Paper Mario functionally being TTYD but having the open, wide worlds from Origami King

Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Golden Compass, a game that mostly resembles TTYD, but borrows aspects from the other games in the franchise that worked well.

I'm very excited to play Paper Mario TTYD Remake when it releases tomorrow. But it does make curious what Nintendo will do after Paper Mario TTYD Remake as with the remake I feel like it has really shown Nintendo what fans want to see from the series while trying some new things. I loved Paper Mario The Origami King when it first released and it was awesome to see how Nintendo was taking note of what fans wanted to see with an original villain, the return of partners, and a whole interconnected world to explore. Whatever happens next for this series I'm gonna be ready to see it stepping forward.

Original had audience cheering while remake had no audience cheering. Original water is more dark while remake is more light blue.

I personally feel like this could be a best of both worlds' situation. Meaning that the fans can get what they want, and the companies can get what they want if they use a mix of both ideas. Meaning I'll think they'll still stick to the RPG formula but change it up from the one in the first 2 games. For instance, if Paper Mario 7 does come out maybe it could have a battle system similar to another RPG series like a battle system that has you try to manage 2 partners in battle like say Ni no Kuni or Xenoblade. That way it could satisfy fans while still keeping the games experimental!

Origami king and super are my favourite paper Marios. Let me explain, the newer paper marios have so much better worlds and overall leveldesign which is the best thing about these games in my opinion. But obviesly they also have some problems, especially lack of story and battle system/xP which was great in the first 2 games. The best Thing that could happen in my Opinion is, a new Paper mario that is like the new games, but with a good battle system and good story

Bro wdym "original areas" the newer games after super all have basic worlds except for a few origami king ones

Personally I despise TOK because of what it is and I swore to myself to never again buy any new Paper Mario games after that until TTYD HD or Remastered is announced and luckily we actually got TTYD Remake and I would rather have Nintendo stick with that game mechanic and design but with a little extra something in it for future Paper Mario games. Heck I would definitely want partners back rather it be from the 64 or TTYD and I would totally like it if Koopie Koo was one of the next playable partners in fact instead of 2 characters in battle why not 3 characters this time like how Bug Fables did it only better with special moves like they did with Super Mario RPG remake.

I doubt it. And yes, for the other guy, even if he wasnt the man who put restrictions, he was in charge for the current direction of the series, and was the responsable for some "questionable" game mechanics(yk, Stickers, lack of XP, making Bowser basically sillent for two games), not only for Paper Mario, but other games that received a very bad reception both for the public and the critics.

I disagree with the video and feel they ramde both SRPG and TTYD specifically so that they can gaugue where they should take Mario RPGs going forward (since M&L is dead)

If you stray away entirely from a series' mechanics, should you still consider it to be the same series? At that point I consider it a spin-off. So if this remains their philosophy, they're wrong and it'll spell doom for the series.
To be honest, I think the point of the remake was to gauge the actual interest in mario rpgs, the paper mario series and whether the old style performs better in the market. I think if it wouldn't do this great, a decision could've been made to sunset the series entirely.
If the presales are as high as reported, I think it sends a clear message to both the devs and nintendo regardless. It says: this is what we want from the product. Stubbornly keep doing the opposite is a folly. Then again, this is Nintendo we're talking about and they've been known to be stubborn and refusing to give what the customers want from time to time. So I don't know if this message will actually result in a course change.
If it does end up in a course change back to the formula we all love, I hope much/all of the restrictions that caused them to end up with sticker star and its sequels will be lifted.

I know this is your opinion but I don't see that happening. So I have to disagree respectfully . Especially they did the super Mario RPG remake. So I definitely think they trying to test the waters and whichever one in my opinion sells the most that's going to be the new approach of Mario RPG is going forward . Cuz at the end of the day they both got stories original characters and fun RPG mechanics

Unfortunately, i think thousanf year door is just something nintendo is releasing as a slot filler.
Like the switch is near the end so instead of dropping a brand new big game. They are focusing on remasters. Which i am glad for this paper mario game.
As trying to get the original game is very expensive.
I went to a gamestore and it was on sale for like 150 dollars and i have to get a gamecube as well. So easily looking at like 250-to 300 dollars
