In Paper Mario 64, the macguffin is the Star Rod from Kirby's Adventure. We know Paper Mario takes place in a magical book that was brought to life. We also know the Star Rod has the ability to bring dreams to life, and it was created by the Ancients, who traveled to many different worlds. I believe the Star Rod is what brought the Paper Mario universe into existence, by giving life to the book it somehow found it's way into.
Origami king is probably the only paper mario game that feels like a horror game.I mean there is death everywhere

great video! but i wish in certain sections you showed direct footage of the thing you are referring to rather than game footage loosely related to the subject...
Example includes the robotic gears of Mimi and the yoshis on the traincar just to name a few...

I will say it would be nice if the clips matched the rare situations you were talking about more- I know that involves reaching out to creators more though
36:10 actually the snowmen gifts trigger the first time you visit the Shiver City inn after the snowmen move out, not just after they did it. I got the gifts when visiting the inn right after completing the Crystal Palace.

In the Japanese version of the Thousand-Year door, we get to see where the smorg come from. For unknown reasons this was cut in the European and American versions.

Great video. I do have some issues tho. Paper Mario... Yes i agree it was called mario story in jp, but there are several paperlike themes. The first tower, the koopa bros frotress have enemies escaping through the slits and you can do the same and... Most notably when you go to sleep you just rest there like a sheet of paper
In the fortress there’s also that scene where Yellow sets a trap for Mario causing him to fall into the prison underneath. Both Mario and his partner fall like sheets of paper. There’s Kammy Koopa being taped into the intro cutscene. Theres There’s the animations for when a bridge is activated. King Goomba’s fortress falls apart like a paper model. And there’s plenty more examples

I think the stick attack in color splash can be a reference to frisk from undertale, yellow paint is to reference frisk's yellow skin, the stick is one of their first weapons
That ideology about not being able to "make new characters" is a lie he said. There was never a mandate like that. The reason he said it though, is because he wanted his company to have the copyright to those characters, but Nintendo owns the copyrights of any characters he made. So he said that to divert rage, but its not true.

You need to let it go. In the original japanese script she describes herself as as having a boy's body with a cute girl's heart inside. This was changed by the English translation, but the original intent was always there. I'm no pro or against, these are just facts
Bobbery is a BOMB but still goes by he/him, and the remake has further canonized Vivian being trans, it’s not a big deal and makes her character arc more compelling.
