  • This is the process that I like to use for 3d printing random objects or forms that I make in Rhino. The process is much longer and complicated when it comes to printing scale models of buildings.
I’m using the Makerbot Replicator 2 printer for this build.

Hi, I also love 3D printing, I have a channel too. Maybe we can collaborate?

can you do a tutorial on how to get brick or other masonry patterns on a wall?

You should print an architectural model

3D printers are amazing. Josh has one and I find it fascinating! A bonus video from you today! It’s not even Friday!!!

I try doing this for floor layouts for buildings but I haven’t figured how to scale it without making the walls so thin they just fall over/breakoff.

a building would have been better to see, thank you for the video, is the Makerbot the 3d printer you recommend?

Do you have any tips or recommendations on taking an already created architecture model and easily make it a solid? For example, I have a revit file of a tower we built but its hollow with each floor plan and room on each level. It wont print very well unless i use a ton of supports for each floors deck. I simply just want the exterior of the building and the entire inside solid. The purpose here is to print mini replicas of the tower for the project team and the owners. I've come to the conclusion that i just need to redraw the entire thing, floor by floor in sketch up (or rhino), but i was hoping you had some experience with this and could shed light onto it for me. Thanks!

I'm trying to do the same thing right now! Did you figure out a good method or did you end up having to remodel it?

How do you scale down a model of a building? Suppose that you have a Revit model. How do you scale it down? Export to .dwg > make it a block and scale it down?

@@nikolarataj No, because I don't have a 3d printer. I was hoping that the author of this video would reply to my question, but they have not.
