I live up in northern utah but always make the 90 minute drive past at least 2 other bow shops to go to the wilde arrow. Love these guys!

Thank you for posting this video. I was having a difficult time tuning out a high right tear on my new Powermax LD. I decided to follow your step by step bow setup right from scratch. Got everything done and had only 3 adjustments after. Raised the rest once and made 2 yolk adjustments. Shooting constant bullet holes now. Much appreciated. Btw, Eric, love watching your videos!!

Great video Eric. Very informative, Jeremiah was very detailed and clear. I've been trying to do most of my own tuning and mechanical work on my bow so I learned several new things with this vid. Thanks!

I appreciate every step in the process having a simple and clear explanation during this setup. Some other not so great videos that maybe have the right setup but poor explanation or the opposite. decent explanation but its also incorrect sooo... But keep up the Hush life videos and the #Leftysunite Isaac on Buck Wild here is a lefty so he always appreciates the shout outs Eric gives. Also appreciate the words of warning for guys doing their own setups. Good to let viewers know the risks when handling expensive and precise equipment. From us to you at #Hushin we say #FindYourFrenzy

Thanks for sharing this info. So many pro shops are too tight lipped about their 'trade secrets'. Watching this makes us simpletons realize how much knowledge they have and how much we hunters need them. Keep up the good videos, especially in the off season, wait, is there an off season anymore?

You should use heat shrink tubing to ensure the felt doesnt come loose from the prongs on the drop away rest.. Easier and faster solution..

  • @ArrowItArchery

Quick question. There's a tad bit of lift of the QAD rest when at full draw than when it's resting in the up (locked position). I noticed you leveled the arrow nocking point with the rest when it's locked in. Does that extra bit of rise on the rest, when at full draw, make the knock point a bit lower?

  • @devonasher7857

Never used a qad rest I used a trophy ridge hx drop away because it came with the bow I bought and I will never use a drop away rest again out of nowhere the cable just popped out of the trophy ridge rest rendered my bow inoperable. I use a octane hostage rest now and unless someone is willing to buy me an ultra rest to try and change my mind I will never use a drop away rest again. Because knowing my luck I'd be in the woods and a big tom comes in or a monster buck and I go back to draw the rest would fail and I'm never having that happen.

  • @OutdoorE

I did not know about dividing your wingspan by 2.5 is your draw length. My bow is at 29.5. (74/2.5=29.6)

Ok, first class bow, brand new out of the box. How about you run this same process with an older, tired bow needing help. Some of us own these!

Reaper Perhaps I should have stated: common problems when wear and tear reduce the bows effectiveness and how to find the problems and how to resolve them. By the way, Jeremiah is a first class bow technician.

When I buy an "older" bow, say 10 years old. I first start by replacing the string and cables. We use 452x as a string material for example. By doing this you force yourself not only to start from scratch you are also ruling out any existing problems with string stretch etc etc. Really the only thing that "wears" on a bow is the string. The limbs also "wear" but without replacing them there is no way to maintain them. Put your bow in a press and remove the cables and string. Release all of the pressure on the bow and take the limbs completely off. Use some sort of silicone based paste lubricant in the limb pockets, on the limb bolts and the underside of the limbs themselves. That will keep that pesky "draw creek" from sneaking up on you when your bow gets wet. I would recommend taking all of your accessories off and then basically follow this guide for re-setup. If you have the money to replace old accessories now is the time to do it. You would be amazed at how well an older bow can perform with a quality drop away rest, decent stabilizer and a string stop. I just went through this process on an abused 2005 Bowtech Allegiance a couple months ago and it made it into a great and quiet shooter.

I'm sorry but did he say something about timing of the rest? Maybe I heard wrong? Not to sue what that means. I shoot 60 plus with a whisker biscuit cutting vanes. If there is something to increase my bow accuracy, I believe that I could get rid of my 270 and drop deer out to 500+.
