Whoa! A helicopter segment with detailed interiors in addition to the small components of the rotor assembly! That's a lot of work! I appreciate the hours of toil spent and the segment looks great.
0:33 The Apache actually has Turboshaft engines instead of Turbofans, I'd like to see the MQ-9 please! (Edit: I've just realized its mentioned as a turboshaft, my bad.)

A lot has changed since the "A" model.... aka "90s tech. I was an electronics and weapon system specialist for this bird back in the late 90's right around the time when the Delta "Longbow" varient was first being delivered to air units. I Love how the new "E" Guardian version keeps the Apache flying and relavent! Thank you for your hard work and time with all your vids. But as a US Army aviation veteran, I particlularly love this video! Keep up the amazing work!!!
thanks, i was about to fake my identity as an apache AH-64 pilot, didnt know how to fly it yet, now that ive skipped it to 6:57 and watched couple minutes, i am thankful for everything you did for me i got a job at the airforce, being the best pilot...
I love AiTelly. The videos are so informative and well animated. Please make us a video explaining how the SAAF's Atlas Oryx or Rooivalk helicopters work. Thank you❤
Hey there fellow military equipment, I personally identify as a Leopard 2A7 German Main Battle Tank, but as a fellow military equipment, I've got great respect for the AH-64 community, as well as all other members members of the military equipment pride community
Quick misunderstanding, the hellfire missiles aren’t fire and forget. They have to be guided by the crew on to the target. They are laser guided and the laser in pointed at the target
Expensive, old 80s tech. Perhaps if the Apache was made slightly bigger for armed troop transport? Contingent upon if they could find a way to make the Apache more durable and efficient with much less maintenance. At one point the Apache required est. up to 14 hrs. of maintenance for every hour in the air.
turboshaft is similar to turboprop and turbofan, turboprop just have proppelers and turbofan has minimal gear ratio to spin a fan fast 4000-6000rpm (commercial)
Fair warning, as someone who works with this aircraft. While the general idea this video puts is ok enough, many of the animations are pretty wrong. But if youre a mid-40s office worker looking for a video to watch during lunch break, this is all you'd ever need to know i guess
Marvelous job my brother sorry for being little bit late Thank you so much for this briefing and explanation and informations And thank you for your awesome job My brother i have question If we imagined a confrontation and engagement happened between those two helicopter the the American Apache and Eurocopter Tiger which one going to win the dual?! Anyway which one is the best between them the Apache or the tiger ?!
Your animation of the axial jet turbine is wrong. The compressor compresses the air from the intake. This enters the annular combustion chamber through stator vanes where fuel nozzles are located. The combustion chamber itself is a thin (1.5-2mm) perforated can of titanium with a aluminum oxide coating. Air is bled off around the combustion chamber to act as a low temperature curtain against the outer motor casing. The perforations in the combustion chamber bleed additional air into the burn zone facilitating fuel-air mixing. The turbine is essentially a compressor in reverse where the combustion gasses are allowed to expand, generating power to the turbine shaft. I can explain the gear box and additional technical details if you wish, but then you'd have to pay me for a script ;) I used to work with stuff like this.
I like the info in the video, but I think it would help a lot if you added a little bit more of a pause between facts in order to allow time to digest them. For example I think the transition at 1:48 ".. pointing at them. Let's take ... " is too sudden. If you look at Animagraff's videos he does allow for a brief pause for the viewers to process the information, and I think it adds a lot to the viewing experience.
I hear flying helis is very difficult. You have to be able to hover well to land well, and hovering is quite hard compared to fixed wing normal flying. There's also weird stuff with the ground not vibing with the oscillation of the rotation and the helicopter shaking it's self apart. Good videos on TH-cam about it.
the problem with state-of-the-art cutting edge weapon systems of western origin is that they're expensive & that's a fact . . . for e.g. the high acquisition cost of the AH-64E Apache Longbow® (Block II) multi role attack helo gunship can be offset by lower life cycle cost . . . or the F-35A Lightning II (Block 40+) stealth multi role air dominance fighter that retails at €120.50 Mn (fly away cost) a piece . . . the Hydra 70 air-to-ground artillery rockets could do with some form of low tech guidance systems . . .
1: The pedals are called " anti-torque pedals". 2: The pilots don't wear fighter pilot helmets or oxygen masks. 3: The top turret is called the Pilot Night Vision System or PNVS. 4: The lower turret is called the Target Aquisition and Designation System or TADS. 5: both parts of the TADS move at the same time, they are not independently actuated like you show a 1:19. 6: The 30mm is slaved to the current acquisition source ie the TADS, the HMCS, or a specified targeting point. 7: The Longbow radar doesn't rotate 360 degrees and scans side to side from either the HMCS or by slaving it to a target point, or by slewing the radar with the bezel buttons on the MFD in the cockpit. 8: It's not called a HUD Helmet package, it's called the Helmet Mounted Cuing System or HMCS. 9: The engines are the T700-GE-701C and the AH-64E has the T700-GE-701D engines(starting to think that no research was done for this video at this point) 9: The forward intake section in your animation at 5:27 is totally wrong. That is more like the impeller for cooling the Engine Nose Gearbox(ENGB) and not part of the engine. 10: Cyclic is one word, not two. 11: Since the integration of the laser detection system, the Stingers and Sidewinders are no longer able to be carried, and they have never been used in combat. How do I know all of this? I worked on the Apache in the US Army for 7 years. Know the thing literally inside and out, and this video is absolutely horrible.
@@oerlikon20mm29 It does go through the NGB. That shroud is open on both ends to allow cooling air over the NGB. The whole gearbox has cooling fins on it for a heatsink. So that part was actually correct.
@@oerlikon20mm29 Yes, and it would do so. It should have also shown that it was coming in through the intake of the engine as well, I agree, but by that point in the video my list was long enough to show how poorly this video was done. That little quibble would have just been beating a dead horse.
Question? Was there ever a twin rotor Apache made? What's the total weight of the Apache? How much fuel does the Apache consume? What kind of radar cross signature does the Apache leave behind? How's the Apache against a RPG or a Javelin? How fast are those blades spinning let's say a minute or a hour? Is it true they test these out in Arizona? Did the Taliban ever get some of these?
1) No 2) I've seen AC basic weights ranging from 12.800 to 13.300 lbs. Maximum gross weight is 20.260 lbs, maximum ferry weight is 23.000 lbs. 3)Fuel consumption is dependent on gross weight, pressure altitude and free air temp, but for a 20° 17000lbs ac sea level you can get as low as around bit more than 900 lbs hr. 4)classified, any value found online will be an estimate 5) As any other RW asset, badly, there is no thing such as "completely armored flying tank." 6)Main rotor speed is 292 RPM on delta (101% Nr). 7) They are built at Boeing facilities in Mesa, Arizona. They are also tested at Yuma proving ground. 8)I don't recall any being shot down by them, ever, there were multiple mishaps during the conflict however.
