I met Emmo and chatted for a few minutes with hm inside the CART garage at Indianapolis. I don't mean at the garage door. We were outside and there were people asking for autographs, so he invited me inside to get away from interruptions. His willingness to give me some of his time, which would bring him nothing, no gain at all, showed me a humble, down to earth individual, who gave me respect and gathered the same from me. I always admired him, and will continue to do so, regardless of what anyone has to say about him
Emerson Fittipaldi, Peter Revson, and Mario Andretti are the drivers that made me fall in love with Formula 1, but throughout his racing career, Fittipaldi would make some surprising decisions: leaving a competitive Lotus team, leavinga competitive McLaren team, turning down lucrative deals to drive other more competitive cars in Formula 1 after a few dismal seasons with his own team Coparsucar, refusing to drink the milk after winning the Indy 500. Still his talent and the same self-reliance and independent spirit that fuels his decisions make him a unique sporting personality that deserves respect always!!
@@Toro_Da_Corsa the story is a combination of visual images and spoken narrative. In this case, they are not in agreement temporally (e.g. narrative of a teenage Fittipaldi juxtaposed against images of what look like a 50 something Fittipaldi). The viewer almost has to learn to ignore the images they are seeing, as they are incongruous with the narrative. Jarring. Just my opinion (I may be more of a visual learner).

Emo’s orange plantations had financial difficulties, as he was leveraged and Brazil’s economy went “south”. Remember when he had to sell his winning cars. Don’t think he lives on Key Biscayne any more either. His accident at MIS almost killed him; the backwards hit to the wall was many G’s, almost taking his head off (pre-Hans device). I had an ‘86Honda Accord with a Fittipaldi Aero Kit and Fittipaldi Wheels; was a beautiful, sleek looking vehicle. He’s enjoyed a great life for sure! Thanks!
. It´s true Emmo had some financial problems but himself talk that payed 90% of your accounts. He is a gentlemam and a very good guy as your family. He was a great Brazilian Driver two times f1 and indy champion, two time indy 500.
This video was put together in a lazy fashion: incongruous photography, surface level research, no solid conclusion, and more. Narration sounded like A.I. even with the English accent. A little more effort would've gone a long way with this one. 🤔
Once a spender , always a spender. I find it interesting that drivers like Nelson Piquet are still rich even though they won their money so long ago. Then there's guys like Emerson. Hard to feel bad for him. He was living lavishly when he had nothing to back it up. Anyway decent video. Maybe you can make a series out of it. Drivers after their career and if they ended up like this or the opposite
The two-time world champion Emerson Fittipaldi is in serious debt, according to the Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo. According to the newspaper, there are 145 lawsuits against the 1972 and 1974 World Champion and more than eight million euros are being demanded.
@@VittoriaFittipaldi Emmo is a damn good racer but when he didn't drink the milk and that was a slap in the face to every short track driver and mechanic that dreams of earning their way to what was once hallowed ground for us. Every year since then, there were fewer & fewer drivers that most fans can say, "I remember watchin' him wheel a car at Terre Haute and the Indy Mile." Yes times have changed. I understand that, but even Captain America- AJ Foyt, hires drivers that I have no idea where they came from. A suitcase full of money means more than pure talent. I did read that Emmo did regret that years after not knowing what it meant to race fans. That's much appreciated but it left a scar that runs deep.

Not very accurate. Emmo has had some setbacks, but he's hardly broke. Still a fine gentleman and seen in SoFL pretty regularly.
Yeah he had an awesome career in the too open wheel racing series in the world long and great career in Cart and F1
It's a clickbait video title, I have already clicked the don't recomend this channel button.
Best sideburns in auto racing. "You must make love to de car" and he certainly did. Go Emmo.
The pictures didn't match the commentary
not at all, regrettably
Bad luck after refusing to drink the traditional milk after winning the 500. He wanted orange juice from his orchard.

he has been making bad investments well before the indy 500 win
Great Fable, more likely spending more than his income - than bad milk Karma.
'Indy five zero zero'. Cut the AI crap.
AI
If he had not moved to his brother's team he could have been the greatest ever
A muddled series of photographs.
Yes, distracting and unnecessary
I agree even the 'period' shots are all over the place. The modern F1 pictures are jarring.
It is about the story

I think he has had a great life
A quick Google search shows that Fittipaldi is worth millions today. I can't tell which is true.
Fake news people
I can assure you this channel isn't correct.
Very produced. But needed a more conclusive ending about how and where money was lost. Ending a little incomplete.

He drank orange juice because it was his personal sponsor.
I'm sure he's about as sad as your average multimillionaire global icon.
Or as Dangerfield said, Money can't buy happiness - but you can sure pick your own kind of misery.
False. He had some setbacks. But everything is fine now, and he's still rich.
Why show contemporary cars when discussing 1972-73?
Because that's what AI does.

great idea
Nelson owns the largest GPS company in Brazil. He's absurdly rich.
Great editing!

Sounds like AI generated script.
Emmo is a great driver, not so good businessman... He isn't broke though...
He is a good businessman.
What your saying is bs. EMERSON is a happy guy. You should get your facts straight ❤
Hugo Boss money was a curse.
Good at racing bad at math
Fake video
The day Emmo won the Indy 500, is the day I lost all interest in Indy Car racing. No class.
Why?
