2 WDC (for different teams), 2 runner-ups(for different teams) and saved his fallen teammate's WDC in his first year. I mean... The best first 5 years of any driver ever. Emerson literally deserves a lot more credit and praise.
Also, chose to run for his brother team, not getting paid, raising debt, stayed there for another 5 years and took 3 podiums for what was the worst car on the grid.
I mean... Jackie Stewart loved the guy, Lauda loved the guy, Piquet and Senna loved the guy... This must mean something.

I was only a child of 9-10yrs of age when we started hearing of the young Brazilian Racecar driver, with the very Racecar driver sounding name of "Emerson Fittipaldi" 😎
Elvis Presley was the biggest Star in the world at that time & one thing Elvis is still to this day remembered for, was his HOF sideburns, but Emmo's sideburns were enough to make even Elvis sit up & take notice!
It was Emmo's brilliant performance's behind the wheel of his Racecar that garnered the American public's interest at first, but it was the Brazilian's cool look, that got the most attention here in The States, where we love a great driver, but if he's just plain "COOL" on top of it, then he quickly becomes Legendary & by the end of 1970, that's exactly what Emmo became here in America....

what a fantastic story.....back in those years, I was a young boy, who started to discover F1 in 1975....Of course, I became a Niki Lauda fan boy and never really developed an interest in what happened before this time. Now being much older and having watched F1 for so long, I find the Emerson story so fascinating as a well deserved tribute to Emerson.....

Efetivamente espetacular.

fittipaldi was always a gentlemen . i've met him 3 or 4 times and he always treated me in the most polite manner. including a copersucar's car introduction where i could realize the difference from the inside of a formula's car back then and the rosberg's william's where everything was basically controlled by computer already in 2006

Many people don't know, but Emerson introduced Ayrton for all managers and team bosses at the very beginning, saying:
"Pay attention to this guy. He'll be next great F1 world champion. Look at him!"
Then, Senna won the world championship 3 times... 🙂

Emerson nos mostrou que realizar um sonho só depende de cada um... e abriu as portas do fechado mundo da F1 para os brasileiros.
Merece nosso eterno reconhecimento! Ótimo documentário e justa homenagem!
Grande abraço, Emerson! Parabéns pela excelente e digna carreira!
