Wow, My parents who passed away this past spring, had the 4 door version in my their garage. It needed an exhaust repair, that my father started but never completed. Sat in the garage since 1989. After my parents passed, my siblings and I were not sure what to do with it as it needs restored. So my sister and her husband took it as a project car. Amazing, its the exact same year and color as the one in this video. Even has the same tan vinyl roof. I remember when my dad purchased it used in the late 70's. We were on our way home with it and my dad wanted to see how the power was. He was so impressed with the power of the 350 V8 engine and smoothness of the drive train at 85 mph on the highway. When we arrived home with it, we noticed the engine has miss. Found one of the spark plug wires came off, yet the engine still had plenty of power. He really like that car. Shame it sat for so long, deteriorating.
A cliff hanger. Wait till next week. I nearly cried when that Lady had to see her Mom's car. Restored, you feel like family now. I really look forward to the videos each week.

It looks to have a landau package , I don't think that all 72' Lemans came with the round windows in the sail panels , I am going to do some research on it just for the fun of it because I am a big Pontiac fan ! Nice to see you rescue this car , and once you get it cleaned up and Drivable if you are able to give the lady a ride that learned to drive in that car that would be awesome to see
Of course the Restored team always impresses with your perseverance, skill, and care; but, a big component of what makes your team/family so good at what you do is the respect and consideration that you show to each other and the owners of the vehicles from whom you're purchasing the vehicles. It's evident you have kindness in your hearts.
Skill and care? Those front tires were plowing into the dirt, cause they were too lazy to go get some decent rubber. Hope they didnt bend anything on the undercarriage.
Oh man! I think this is my most favorite episode yet! I have owned and fixed up 2 of these and my Dad had the T-37! SO excited to see y’all bring this girl back to life!
Nice looking car with great potential, I hope you will be able to show the finished project to the family in due course. That pickup looked worth saving too.
I have recently found your channel and started binge watching. I know next to nothing about cars and mechanics but I love seeing how you go about restoring basically a hunk of rust. More than that though, I love that I have watched episode after episode and not heard one single swear word - ever! Thank you so much for providing some of the most wholesome viewing out there.
WOW.. makes my memories come back. I got a light blue with white landau interior and roof '68 Pontiac Luxury LeMans off the Pontiac showroom floor somewhere October 1st to 12th, 68 in Memphis,TN on Summer Ave. Good Lord, I'd just turned 19, heading to Fort Rucker for advanced helicopter training. I enjoyed the car 6 months in school, Dad had it while I was in VietNam. I had it 2.5 years more when new wife took it in the divorce- and she left me with her Rambler station wagon. I'm still watching this video, what a car that was. Thanks, hope this video ends well, I can't fast forward and still write. Yep, makes me sad now.

What a great find! Can’t wait to see what’s next for this ol’ girl. Something tells me she’s prolly not for sale. God bless you all and thank you so much for sharing!
Heck yeah. I really am glad that you are able to bring new life into that car. I have to help my dad with his car. 69 amx that hasn’t been on the road since 96 in and out of barns and been sitting in ours for years. Covered in stuff. The 390 was taken out and rebuilt and a 304 was the temporary replacement. 390 sadly locked up and the poor thing needs a whole lot. The car runs but I need to fix the fuel inlet on the carb because it snapped off. The wiring is trash. Mouse house and I gotta swap on a better rad hose. Runs mint though. Just need to get the fuel system fixed. And then I can drive it out to begin the repair process. It’ll be easier to rewire when it’s not tucked in the corner. And hopefully I can fix the 390. And I hope the 4 speed is still healthy. Dad says we need to swap the 4.10 gear out of the rear for the 3.73 because first gear is useless.

As an old tow and recovery guy, nice use of the "Holmes Tree". I can also vouch for the nylon recovery straps. For what I've seen you do, a 3" x 20 or 30 foot strap would be ore than sufficient. That should have a 30,000# break strength so it would be suitable for a 15,000# vehicle (2:1 safety factor). Stop by your local FD and see if they have some old firehose. Use that as a guard if you're strap is going over any sharp edges. FYI, tow straps will have hooks on each end. Recovery straps have loops. I carried a 3 x 30 strap with a couple of D-hook shackles in my pickup for years. Never let me down.
Don't know that I would call a LeMans a muscle car but certainly looks like a solid project car. Looking forward to seeing what you guys do to it seems as though it has a lot of potential!
My dad had a 70 lemans was his daily driver I came home from the hospital in after being born me and my brother I miss him and that car everyday thanks for rescuing it I can’t wait to see you guys clean it up and get it up and running god bless
I look forward to the "Will It Run" video! I thought it was awesome to see the 350 on the lower front fenders. Now let's see if it has a 4 barrel. I kinda think it's a 2 barrel though. The paint looks like it should clean up nicely. And I love the color.
The motor and transmission means absolutely nothing ,and chasis and metal structure is A + and have owned 3 Firebirds ,one 1969 400 4 speed that was scary fast ,73 Grand Prix ,1978 Bonneville and why on Earth they stopped producing such a well built car is beyond my comprehension ! Oldsmobile should have been the model chosen
AGAIN… another great one. What a great family to consider y’all for the car. We all know this won’t become a burnout car or some LS swap project. Such a great survivor car. Not to mention, that may be the nicest car yall have ever rescued! No trees growing through the body! Lol!
My uncle Roger bought a Lamans identical to that one when he came home from Vietnam his was a 1969. If I had the means I would buy that car and give it to him he was awarded the purple heart and credit him for saving my life. Your saving another great automobile...
LOL, nowadays any 2-door with chrome bumpers is called a muscle car but it was a great save, that building looks like it could collapse any day. I own a 72 LeMans like this they are great cars. The LeMans is the exact same car as a GTO but with different front end treatment and badging and usually a lower performance drivetrain although they could be ordered with the same engines and transmissions offered in the GTO. I hope the frame is alright on this one as that seems to be their weakness. The frames are prone to rusting out at the corners especially below the corners of the windshield where water runs down the sides of the firewall and lands on the frame. I purchased my LeMans 8 years ago out of Arizona and the frame is still in perfect condition. I had purchased a 71 LeMans new when I was 18 and always wanted to relive those days.......best decision I ever made.
Love the old Pontiacs. I’ve got a 69 Firebird that’s I’ve been working on for a few years now. Can’t wait to see y’all turn this one around. Love what you do!!
This was the best barn find Lance. This car look's in really good condition! All cleaned up this Pontiac is going too look awesome. All way's liked this style car. Guy's as usual you did a great job. Thank You.... Can't wait to see the next vidio on this car!!

Hello guys, this car is a great find and is in pretty good shape . About 6 to 7 weeks ago, I pulled a 1972 Ford Maverick car out of an old garage that was in about the same shape as this car here and hauled it over to my first cousins barn and her grandson wants to restore it . I know it's not a muscle car like your find, but still a neat car, it has a 302 motor, and an automatic transmission and the doors were locked and had not been opened for years and years and the inside was in pretty good shape and the car had been bought brand new by my first cousins ex- father in law . I will see you all later, can't wait to see your car all cleaned up and back running . So take care and stay safe and keep on working on the old vehicles . 🤗👍💖💫
Man that car reminds me of my fathers 1972 LeMans he bought it brand new off the lot when he was 19 years old and it`s the same green on green with the 350 Pontiac with the same hub caps the only thing was he had no vinyl top on it but it brought back many memories of my dads car when I was a kid
I think you're THE only one to mention that!. It's like they didn't even notice that being highly unique. Not factory though, it's aftermarket (day two) or dealer installed.
@@UberLummox The Restore guys noticed it in the original pics I sent them. They are not "factory" but it seems those windows were all the rage back in the 70's and many dealers had them as an option. We know that Carrel's mother did not have them installed so we believe they were dealer installed.
This brought back memories of the 1971 Lemans Sport I had in college. Mine was white with a black vinyl top, blue interior, 350 2-barrel with a 4-speed. It had the PMD factory wire wheel covers. Like nearly every car I've owned, I wish I still had it. As others have commented, I've never seen a Lemans of this generation with a Landau top and porthole windows. Someone probably went to a lot of effort to do that. I wonder why?
@@brooksschneider3441 That funky vinyl half-top and little porthole opera window were dealer installed. Some dealers did funny shit back then! VERY cool yours had a 4sp.!!!
Hey Guys, Is this cae still available? What would you be looking to get for this Lamans? I've been looking for a old mussel car and this might work out for the both of us, that is if if it is available.
When Carrel made the comment that her mother used the Le Mans to try to teach her to drive it brought back memories. My step dad was a driving instructor and he used a 72 Le Mans to teach people to drive.

@ The Sharkster, even for a seemingly 50-year-YOUNG car.
It's in the same class of car as a GTO, 442, GSX, and Torino - definitely a muscle car. They even came with hood-mounted tachs.
'tis a nice shade of green 💚
Lol!
This car is a family heirloom @ VERY BEST.
You all are blessed living in Texas. That same car would go for 8 to 10 grand in Commiefornia. I’m looking forward to the next episode. Thanks!
My uncle Roger bought a Lamans identical to that one when he came home from Vietnam his was a 1969. If I had the means I would buy that car and give it to him he was awarded the purple heart and credit him for saving my life. Your saving another great automobile...
Great recovery 👍
I respect everyone who were involved in this , Seriously the best piece that I' ve ever seen on TH-cam ,HATS OFF TO WELL ALL ! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!!😌😌

Another home run. And this has special meaning to a family. Not many family heirloom cars/trucks left out there. “Cause they sure don’t make them like they use to.”- everybody’s grandparents

Are the port holes in the vinyl top factory? I have never seen that option in a LeMans before if they were.
ME NEITHER, KRAZY.
Great video guys, will look forward to an update on this one.
What an unusual roof trim package, I don't think I've ever seen it, portholes and all.
@@kencramer1697 Cool. Thanks for the reply!
Hey Guys,
Is this cae still available? What would you be looking to get for this Lamans?
I've been looking for a old mussel car and this might work out for the both of us, that is if if it is available.
Solid car! Can't wait to see you guys dive into it
Such an iconic muscle car! Thanks for sharing!
A super video as usual. The lady will be very pleased when you have worked your magic! Great filming again.. Cheers from the UK.
What a beautiful automobile, Can’t wait to see the next video!
Restored it is a great thing that you guys are saving this car! Hope to see her running soon.
When Carrel made the comment that her mother used the Le Mans to try to teach her to drive it brought back memories. My step dad was a driving instructor and he used a 72 Le Mans to teach people to drive.
good score that car is worth more than 2 k cant wait to see more vids of this car well done boys
Had a friend with 67 lemans, love those cars, you couldn't get no closer to the gto than that one !!
Love the music you chose on this one! Great as always y'all
This was a VERY Exiting Rescue of the 1972 Pontiac - she is looking Good - well done Boys - well done ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
