I've been waiting for this companion for a long time now and I just ordered the Find X8 last night before watching this in the morning. I'm disappointed about the high exposure on the X8 which can cause loss of details but I think editing the photos to dio down the exposure can fix the problem. Overall I would still buy the X8 even if I had watched this video before making my decision. I love the phone factor on oppo and their software is the best in the industry, surpassing even Google and Samsung.

These phones have a better telephoto camera, more powerful chipset and 1-2 hours longer battery life. S24+ has Exynos 2400 which is really good, doesn't have heating or battery drain. Only gaming performance will be not as good as the X series phones.. Primary camera on s24+ is as good or even better than these phones. Software and user interface - hands down samsung. Also 7+ years of OS updates. Last but not least, spare parts cost of samsung is much cheaper and service is better. Hardware specs do matter, but decent hardware plus reliable software support over the years will give a better overall user experience.

It's a 10MP small sensor, so in the telephoto department, definitely Vivo/oppo seems to be better - larger sensor with 50 MP resolution. All other cameras are equally good if not better on samsung. Battery life definitely Vivo/oppo has the advantage. On the other hand, s24+ has very decent battery and there is no battery drain issue or anything, 45W fast charging is there. Samsung battery cost is very less, so 3 years down the line if battery degades, you can easily replace it. 4 years of use will not be a problem with s24+, the chipset and all other components are of top notch quality compared to Chinese brands (except the soc !!). For example, Vivo has usb 2.0, which is cost cutting. Similarly oppo/Vivo phones will have many such drawbacks even though on paper main components may seem to be very good. Biggest advantage with apple and samsung is long term quality software support. If hardware is decent, the user experience over long term will be very good.

Why can't these phones be equally good and something must necessarily be different. For example, the fingerprint oppo is too low, but why. Or vivo funtuch is worse and android updates 4 years instead of 5 years. Therefore, I will not buy any of them now, because it seems that something is almost intentionally made worse.
