    Thanks for the great video. It's just what I was looking for. I'm new to woodturning, and a friend wanted me to try to make a couple of bobbins for her antique spinning wheel. I was trying to do it out of 1 piece and realized I don't have the experience. This method seems so much more doable. I will give it another try.

    The spindle should have a rounded bottom to the groove so the sindle can slip in necessary. The flyer has a V-groove so the drive string bites in. No slip.

    Nice! As a spinner and antique lover I always try to reach out to wood turners -- your fellow craftsfolk make so many of our favorite tools! (Check out supported and "drop" spindles if you like to work with fancy woods, they command quite a premium on Etsy!) I'll likely be in the market for some replacement bobbins myself in the near future, bookmarking this video for reference!

      I’ve been contacted a time or two about making parts but no this was the only time. I think pandemic scared some people away…

    do you think i can pay you to make some for me? Maybe like 6 bobbins?? I believe its the same size as this wheels, but i can take photos and give you measurements.
