Yes, that is what they call Iloilo City in Western Visayas. After taking a boat from Cagayan de Oro we found ourselves spending a day exploring. In this video you will see a little bit of local coffee, food and good vibes...
Oh and a beautiful river walk!

BISAYA ISLAND OF PANAY, ILOILO
Bisaya is not just a language. BISAYA (Bisayans or Visayans) are people who trace their Ethnic roots or bloodline in Bisaya islands (Visayas islands).
These Bisaya islands (Visayas islands) are: Panay, Romblon, Guimaras, Negros,Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, Leyte, Biliran and Samar.
Bisaya people speak related languages belonging to the Malayo-Polynesian family.
Diifferent Bisaya dialects
These Dialects of the Bisaya people are: Hiligaynon, Aklanon, Cebuano, Capiznon, Kinaray-a, Bantoanon, Romblomanon, Waray, Surigaonon, Cuyonon, etc
The Bisaya Island of Panay = Dialects of the Bisaya People in Panay are: Hiligaynon (Iloilo and Roxas), Karay-a, (Iloilo and Antique) Aklanon (Aklan), and Capiznon (Capiz).
HOW THE BISAYA PEOPLE CAME TO MINDANAO
In 1940s heavy migration to Mindanao of the Bisaya people spurred by government-sponsored resettlement programmes. Because of migration over time, a large part of Mindanao is now largely populated by Bisaya people from Iloilo, Antique, Cebu, Dumaguete, Samar, Leyte, and Bohol.

You must visit Iloilo city,its very clean,the people are very friendly and helpful as well.We had been in Iloilo 4x na.I am from Dumaguete but living in Munich Germany for almost 30yrs.my husband likes to travel to this beautiful city. We are always staying in Ceda hotel.The staff are very friendly service etc.
Even among Filipinos, the Ilonggo people (the natives of the region Iloilo is in) have the reputation for being sweet and affectionate. Partly because their language sounds very melodic to other Filipino ethnic groups. Think of it as similar to how English-speakers think of the French.
Oh they sure are! It's a combination of a big city vibe and you can find laid back locations all over this Province/City. Seek the food, culture and nature tripping. In any particular order, all of them will do. 😁
Yes I'm from Iloilo city from molo is nice place but been away there for 18 years working in Singapore I miss my home town but I go holiday every 2 years

My mom's side of the family is originally from Iloilo, and Boting grew up there until his family moved here in CDO when he was 8. We both want to go there soon!

Wow! ican't beleived IloILo city has a potencial to become a develop and great city someday.
Actually it was once a developed city due to sugar boom industry, it was called the queen city of the south, the first city of the phils to have, department store, electricity, buses, telephone lines etc.... But its status as 2ndtier city got faded in favor of cebu....
Now that I've seen so much eating in just one video kulas, it made me realize of how long you've stayed in the Philippines, long enough to develop your own palette for our food and flavors. Nice video again! 👌👌👌

I get Goosebumps that you are actually here. You ate batchoy last time in Cagayan, too bad you didn't seek out Batchoy while in Lapaz. That's where it all started, ground zero if that's apt! 😁 You should have seeked out Deco's or Ted's I'm pretty sure the got one at the mall on the other side of the market.
If you are headed north, which I'm guessing you are before jumping over to Luzon there's another city up north from Iloilo. If this post is not that late, try ka mag pangita (seek) kag mag kaon (eat) seafood didto (there). I'm pretty sure they got some of the best you can find anywhere in this country. Mudcrabs, mussels, prawns, a bit pricy yeah but worth the try! Not to mention it makes me a wee bit hungry writing about it! 😉😉

Finally! Been waiting for this! One thing though - I almost had a heart attack when you put ketchup on that queen siopao! 😂 I am a big fan but I was like, "Hell, no!"
liquidfire30 well i think you are one of the few who dont eat siopao with a ketchup in it.
Call me Sarge I would be respectful of how other people eat their siopao but what he was eating was a Roberto's siopao, and a Queen siopao at that. Maybe I am wrong, but that was the first time ever that I have seen someone put ketchup on their siopao at Roberto's. That siopao is perfect as it is, ketchup would ruin it.
I rarely see anyone eat a siopao without putting ketchup on it. (even the Queen siopao) 😀
Meron talagang sauce nilalagay siopao ng roberto's. Simula nung maliliit kmi bumibili ang nanay dyan, that's my favorite...

Great blog in our hometown Kulas. My life surround around that fountain before. It made me dizzy. South is the shopping center, East is St. Paul hospital where I worked, center where I took my review classes, North where I went to school, West where I did volunteer worked in the fields. So many memories...
