Thank you so very much for showing me how to do this. Other videos I watched didn't work for me the way they demonstrated but your instructions worked the very first time I tried it. This is THE greatest explanation I have seen for this technique, so thank you again. Love it.👏
WOW Angie, you’ve opened up a whole new world!!! Since I’m not very tech savvy, I had no idea I could do this, it makes my heart so very happy!!! So VERY GRATEFUL for YOU!!! Sending blessings, love, & hugs!!!
Angie, thank you so much for explaining how to find and use these fun glyphs in words. I have been trying to figure it out. Something told me to look on you channel to see if you had the tips and tricks for this. Thank you so much for helping me figure this out and stop the stress of trying to do this. Your tips and tricks are a life saver for me as I wanting to learn more stuff, I can do with my Cricut.
Hi All, Thank you Angie for this info, I had no idea!! Windows uses "true" fonts and I was unable to find any fun glyphs just scientific or greek kind of symbols, so I am now on a quest for "glyphie" kinda fonts!! Thanks again for all of your tips and tricks!!
Thank you so much, I was using main type and sometimes it works and sometimes it didn’t. I didn’t even know we had a character map on my pc. I’ll be using this technique going forward. Thanks again
Thank you so much... i have been searching how to use this and I'm doing this reunion shirt and i couldn't find out how to add the glyph using the word (be).. thank you for making this video.
Thank you you are so helpful it just seems so busy to do I so wish it was easy as changing a font haha but I will try cause it does up your game thanks again!
Hello Angie, first, thank you for answering my question in another video. After joining CF and DL many fonts i noticed that sometimes they come in two flavors, OTF & TTF. I was wondering if i were to keep only one type, which one would be your preference across different cutting machines and design apps. (I am using MainType to manage them)
Thank you Angie, I could not find "Speak Love" in the character map on my computer. Any suggestions? or where to find it? I love your tutorials but sometimes (for those not so familiar with all the tricks) it would be helpful to give a little more time to showing us just where all the "clicks" are and what they look like.. Thank you for your help.
You need to download the font to your device before it will appear. You can get a link to the font in the description below the video. Then you can see this video on how to install it: th-cam.com/video/UloP5h6fRmY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing... I am trying to use my Cricut more often but they make it difficult to do things that's easy to complete with my Cameo. I have to push through because i have this machine and it just can't sit there.
I am using a HP laptop but Cricut won't let me copy paste the letters into the font. I used the Character map UWP on saved an image as a jpg and had to upload it....a bit of a pain but then all I had to do was weld it (after getting it to size) and got it done. No clue why it won't work with my computer. Oh gosh NEVER mind it was user error ! For some silly reason I heard you say CTRL D and not "V" works like a charm...THANK YOU!!!
Hello, I’m using Windows laptop and the character map doesn’t show the hearts or the ~ line. I re-installed the font and see the hearts and ~ lines in the character map, but after using CTRL V or copy paste to paste into design space only the letters/words paste with no heart or ~ lines. I also made sure the correct font name was chosen for the character map and in design space. Any tips?
@@lashondagardner3667 on my laptop it imports as an image, I upload it and then add it in the place of the letter. It is a pain though. What I did discover if you use Canva you can copy paste and it works easy peasy. I use character map to see which letters I want to change/add. If you save you image on canva to an svg you can then download to Cricut and edit away. I find I use Canva way more for graphic design/words way more than Cricut. I hope all that made sense?
Thank you for this video. When I hit copy and go through the steps of highlighting the letter to replace on DS it does not give me the option to paste. I’m using a pc laptop with windows
I cant get that little box you have above your Tom |Sarah. The little blue one that shows the text you have below. the copy and paste is not working for me
I have an unrelated question/problem if you can help. My script looks beautiful in design space but when I print on the et-15000 the script is fuzzy and all run together like I have put an outline around it. Any ideas? And thanks for all of the videos!!
Hi Angie, I am battling using this Cricut like an army! It's been like hell for me, my Cricut screen when I'm typing, it only has one box so I don't have the small box (the one that appears on top of the big one when you are typing) so how do I get that little box? Please help
I have a question, I am not able to copy and paste from character maps to the cricut space. The text box doesn’t appear anymore to be able to paste the special characters. It just highlights the text red to change the font.
Great video! If I create a design using Character Map on my PC, would I be able to save it in Design Space and access it from my tablet when I'm working at the Maker?
Ok I do have one question though. In my Character Maps for Speak Love, why are many of the characters to choose from just a box with a ? question mark ????
Hi! I am hoping you might be able to help me. I followed your directions step by step, but when I open my character map, I do not see all of those options. I have quite a few boxes with ? inside them. I even deleted the font, and then downloaded it again, thinking something was just a miss. Have always wanted to try this and now I get so close, but seems like I am still missing something. I am using a Dell computer if that makes a difference.
@@AngieHolden Hi Angie . . I too am so close ;) Downloaded both the speak love font and also tried another, loved heart script. Scrolled and scrolled and came up with the same problem as Katherine. Either I have a bunch of blank boxes (loved heart) or a bunch of boxes with ??????s in them. Any ideas?
@@AngieHolden Thank you so much for your quick response. You nailed it, that is exactly what I wasn't doing. Oh my goodness I still have so much to learn. Appreciate you! Thank you.
When I double click it does not bring up the extra box above the word like it does in your video and it is just pasting squares even though I followed your instructions exactly
They have changed Design Space so you won't get the extra box. Make sure you have the right font picked in Design Space as the fonts have to match in order for it not to just have the squares.
@@AngieHolden Thank you so much for that! My font was different and I couldn't figure out why i was getting boxes. I couldnt find a video that shared that info. You saved the day.

I like OTF if that is an option!
Thank you so much!!! I have tried this numerous time but didn't quite get it.
Glad it helped!
I have learned a lot by watching your videos. I want to know how to vertical my words (stacking) for tall containers.
All you can do it to separate into letters and move each letter above the other.
Hello. For ipad i use the app unicode.
Thanks! I will look at it!
I use Unicode too and love it, it’s really easy.

Try holding down the CNTL button and hitting v. That is the keyboard shortcut for paste.
Question, I used the T with a heart attached. How do you color just the heart red? (Joseph Sophia font) best "heart" mom. Thanks.
You would have to slice it out and make it red.
Thank you!!!
No problem!
This was awesome. Can you also draw these?
You could change them to draw lines instead of cut lines!
how to you figure out what letters in cricut will match what you have in character map? I enjoyed the video thanks
Hi there, where is the character map located?
It is on any windows computer. I generally type in the search bar in the bottom toolbar to find it.
I cant get that little box you have above your Tom |Sarah. The little blue one that shows the text you have below. the copy and paste is not working for me
They got rid of that box. Just type over the top of the text instead.

Turn off bleed when printing.

Hi Angie
Have you ever tried StarCraft HD Permanent Adhesive Vinyl? If so how would you rate it?
I haven't used that one.
Hi 👋 I bought this and I’m trying to use them when I paste it’s just a square on the actual grid too 😢I
Make sure your font in Design Space is changed to this font.
I have a question, I am not able to copy and paste from character maps to the cricut space. The text box doesn’t appear anymore to be able to paste the special characters. It just highlights the text red to change the font.
Just click where the text is and click paste.

If you weld it, then yes it will pull up.

You need to find a font that has glyphs. Sounds like it is a font that doesn't or you didn't scroll enough to find them.

Can you do this on the silhouette
Yes you can if you have Designer edition or above.

Make sure you have the same font picked in Design Space as what you are pasting.

Do you know of any other free fonts with heart glyphs or tails, etc.?
I don't have a list of freebies.
when i paste in cricut design space, its pasting an x or question mark . this didnt work for me. any tips?
Sounds like you don't have the same font chosen in Design Space that you are copying from. Make sure you have it picked in the top toolbar.
I saw a video where someone uses ui character map for all the glyphs. I tried it out because on my character map on my PC nothing would ever show up. It is also free.
I hate installing more things on my computer!
tried to do this using Mac and its just a box or should I pay sub monthly to do this?. Maybe this doesn't work with today's Design Space.
You don't have to pay monthly for this. The steps are different on a mac so you might find another video.
I have tried and tried to do this with my mac and it will not copy and paste no matter what I do in DS. And I am. using the latest version of DS.
I don't have a MAC so I can't speak to those steps or any changes that may have occured.
can anything be done yet on a chromebook?
Design Space doesn't work on a Chromebook so no.
I use a MacBook laptop and in my font book, I am not sure where to find the character maps, or these special characters. I tried a few fonts, but not having luck finding them. Any of your viewers who use MAC computers have been able to find them? Meanwhile I’ll keep looking! Thanks!
Was anyone able to us this on the app on phone?
I don't know of a way.
Why in the world is this not a function in the design space program? LOL
tfs!
Thanks for watching!
