Seems pretty much on par with all the cassette bots to come out recently. The smaller scale sort of limits what they can do. Not great given the pricing these days but entirely what I expected.
I really do like him. I mean he's not the best mold, but for a Lion turning into a cassette I think it works. A lot of people are disappointed, and I understand why. I felt that way with Concept art Rumble. Overall I'm happy with Steeljaw. Great review as always!
I’ve got to admit, seeing Steeljaw makes me worried about the eventual Ramhorn. I feel like the animal Cassettes (both Blaster and Soundwave’s) leave a lot to be desired.
I still want him, because the only Steeljaw I currently have is the "data disk" one from WFC, that doesn't even look like a lion. I wasn't expecting "silver butthole" in a review, though. 😂
I do like Steeljaw, though he isn't great. But given how big he is, there was only so much the designer could do. The speaker is almost as big as he is!
I am with you PPR and I am worry about what Ramhorn will look like when they do him. I still don't know how you got him inside Blaster. I have to keep Blaster's chest open to get him inside.
I hope I will find Steeljaw soon. I got my Transformers Evolution Twincast, so yeah, but soon I will get the Studio series Blaster soon. Nice review of this kitty cat.
I really feel like he should have been included in a Cassette Pack or something. Alone, for his price, its like a lot of the budget went to the speaker and the bit that it attaches to. I know Blaster used it in the cartoon but I honestly couldnt give a damn ya know? Feels like a lame justification for the rest of it. Either way I'm not expecting much, just a cassette dude, but it definitely feels like a "core" class thats actually an accessory pack for Blaster.
I kind of like this figure but having the radar dish attached to the back looks terrible and the head is just a big block whereas the G1’s head is in line with the rest of the figure. It’s definitely not worth the price it’s going for.

I really know that the pen on your hand was from winding up an actual cassette right before filming this video. If Steeljaw wasn't a Blaster G1 cassette I would've definitely passed. Every design decision for this thing was just bad.
This little figure is getting SO MUCH HATE!!! It's pretty much what I expected it to be, given Hasbro's laziness and cheap @$$ methods of cutting corners 🙄, so I'm not really sure why anyone thought this figure was going to be better than translucent plastic Eject or Rewind, given the size of the figures that we're dealing with here... The Decepticon Cassettes definitely turned out much better, but then you have to remember that Hasbro loves to $#!t on the fans when it comes to the Autobot Cassettes... 🙄😒😑😑😑. All things considered, he could have been worse, but he still isn't great by any stretch either... but he's not as bad as everyone is going on about either 🙄 🤷... Like I said, I don't know what everyone expected here, but he's basically what I expected, so I'm not really disappointed as much as all the haters, lol... Oh well, bottom line... It is what it is. 🤷 All I can say is wait for Dr. Wu to do it right...🤨😮💨 because if you're waiting for Hasbro to get it right, you're going to be waiting a very long damn time 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

The radar dish holder also works to mount the dish on the back of blaster's forearm. It's how I displayed it.
