With no memory of the past four days, Elliot goes to work the day of the UN vote. He realizes he's been fired and that Stage 2 is going to happen today. He tries to evade security to shut it down, but is caught and escorted out. He tries calling in a bomb threat to get the target building evacuated, while a large gathering of anti E Corp protesters gathers at headquarters. Darlene appears, admitting she's working with the FBI and that Angela is working with Mr. Robot, helping Elliot remember his lost days. The protesters break into E Corp, terrifying the workers. Irving calls Angela, stating that the riot is a distraction so they can send Elliot to copy important data from an HSM in a secure room as a prerequisite to Stage 2. Angela hears that the UN agreed to the annexation, then is approached by a suspicious security guard. She attracts the protesters, who attack the security guard, so she can complete the assignment intended for Elliot, then passes the data to a Dark Army agent. Elliot confronts her in the chaos, asking if there's something she needs to tell him.

I love how Elliot is so good at all aspects of hacking, social engineering included, that he as this horribly socially anxious awkward mess has no trouble flipping between four different characters when dealing with other people just to get the job done.
Like as long as he's got a problem to solve he loses himself in the experience. But just chillin' he's ready to curl up in a corner for the night.

In a way she still is the perfect candidate as even though she didn't let Elliot access her computer but she did led him to the idiot that would.
In the same vein as a sales rep who leaves their computer completely vulnerable but can recognize social engineering in a moment. Both are just as vulnerable in different ways.
Just proves that look means nothing in this setting.

one of my favorite scenes in the show! i loved how they tricked you into thinking the old lady was gonna be easy to get by but she really held her own.

@@yahyaciftci there was multiple episodes that Sam Esmail did in the 4th season. This one being an episode where it’s presented as being all one take. Just like the movie “1917”. Another episode they didn’t say a single word, except a sentence in the beginning and at the end. Best episode in my opinion.
Sean left that meeting annoyed, but by lunchtime the next day, he knew that he would never deal with stress the same way again.

I love the cinematography of this episode particularly how there's little to transition, making it look like one continuous shot. Really makes the episode have "gotta keep moving" or "adrenaline rush" vibe.

I thought Breaking Bad would never be topped but IMO Mr. Robot managed to do it because it was more ambitious
@@omegamanGXE Unfortunately not all people will realise how fleshed out it is. I'll never stop talking about how they went full geek mode while still having an average Joe follow along just as well, while Breaking Bad on the other hand sidelined the chemistry a lot for the sake of plot.

As someone who works in IT. I always found that the most clueless looking people are more computer literate than others. I once had an old lady that knew how to work the terminal. I also can confirm that people hate when IT looks at their PC even after them putting in a help desk ticket.
What is the "terminal" ?

@@originalunoriginal4055 Like the command line in windows. It's a way to do stuff like administrating your machine but in text form. Most people use windows and click on stuff, in the terminal you type commands instead.
@originalunoriginal4055 it's basically command prompt but for other operating systems. On other operating systems you use the terminal instead of a gui for a lot of things. It is mainly used for writing commands which can make things easier. Instead of navigating to the Firefox website and installing Firefox I can go apt install Firefox and it installs it all for me. The terminal is a command based way of using your computer instead of a gui based.
If you haven’t watched this masterpiece please watch you will not be disappointed looking like I might have to watch entire lot again lost count how many times now but never gets old .

It kind of makes sense, old lady has to be smart if she's working in the biggest company, and the guy is just young but still got the job, those are the barriers people face today
The "old lady" at the beginning legitimately probably knows it all because she's been around since the PC revolution first happened.
Probably has been using them since day 1, and has been able to watch in real time how all of the different security protocols have evolved and have gotten to where they are today. Has also had time to witness all the stories as to why they get implemented...
Saving this
Don't assume that 20 year olds know more than anyone because they grew up using apps and games. If you grew up using computers before windows and user friendly interfaces many concepts are more intuitive.
