Leukemia is not a form of cancer but a major increase of white cells in the blood, but yes, I agree.

Respect to Nergal for introducing people to black/ death metal. He is doing what Dimmu/ Cradle did back in the day, can‘t blame him for that.

Nothing but respect for Nergal... sure he can be kind of cringey at times but his band writes pretty fucking decent music that introduces a lot of people to black metal who maybe wouldn’t otherwise, and his firmness of identity and motivations are solid. You don’t beat leukemia, fight the government of Poland, involved yourself with various projects and businesses, and do it with conviction for nothing. He can be cringey at times, but he’s (or at least his public persona is) a good role model.

That being said, and while I’m equally interested to hear your perspective on immigration and citizens from war-torn and/or tyrannical nations seeking asylum… please know ahead of time that I have no interest in hearing half-baked opinions rooted in xenophobia or prejudice.
But carry on and enlighten us. In your eyes, what does Poland do right about immigration processes that the rest of the world could use to learn from?
1. First of all, could you be more boring?
Now, his (now ex) girlfriend has her own rock band. She’s a pretty successful singer. Her music is on a pop rock side, but it’s not too hard to imagine that she could enjoy heavier sound. She’s also a very intelligent gal, famous for witty, sarcastic comebacks. I might not be a fan of her music, but dude, she’s chew you up.
Also, who are you to judge other people’s relationships??
2. Now the voice of poland. It might not be visible to people outside of Poland, but trust me, the irony is insane. The VOP is on Polish public tv channel - very conservative, FAR right wing, political and catholic propaganda. When they realized they invited this “satanist” they tried to undo it, but according to the contract they couldn’t, Nergal refused to break the contract. Sure, it was money and PR for him, but look at the big picture - ridiculously fucking awesome.
3. He often says that after hours of heavy music and screaming every day he needs something to reset his mind and calm down. Seriously, you try to shame someone for doing yoga? How about you build up some energy, be less dull; try some exercise maybe?
4. Nothing here. Idk what you talking about.
its idiotic to hate Nergal for the reasons you mention..the guy is rich is famous and he can do whatever the fuck he wants...i can translate the hate for him is just jealousy or envy....he is a great artist.. if anyone dont like him just dont listen to his music...its simple...

I love how some members of the self-proclaimed "most extreme and non-conformist" metal community shit on one of the most out-of-the-box person in the scene. And I'd say 90% of the time they criticize his lifestyle instead of music he makes (Behemoth could use some of that fair criticism as any other band). It feels like a comedy sketch at this point.
Anti conformism is bullshit, unless you're alone against the whole world you're not anti conformist because you will always be in a group... So a conformist in that group.

Everything Nergal does makes perfect sense when you understand the Satanic philosohpy. In fact, he's probably one of the best public ambassadors for Satanism that we've seen over the last 50yrs. He's genuinely about that life, which is more than I can say about damn near everyone else who claims to be a "Satanist". In fact, the same can be said about most people who listen to Metal in general, regardless of whether or not they're Satanic. I know that makes me sound like an elitist, but perhaps that's a good thing. I think Xiądz would’ve been a good evolution on the heavy formula of Zos Kia Cultus to The Apostasy era paired with the very sharp production style of Evangelion, but that never transpired. Instead, they went with a notably softer approach via The Satanist that was made more mainstream with ILYAYD. Not to say that this change was bad, but that older era content stands above it and from the last decade, Xiądz is their best release in my opinion.

honestly I have a huge respect on Nergal. Beating Cancer and then become one of the most popular Artist in extreme Metal truly deserves that. That guy just knows how to make extreme music which keeps stucking in your head. Behemoth is one of very few bands i can listend to a lot and dont get bored. Yes the last Album was not that good but has its moments. Damn, your girlfried is hot!
You're so right, I've been listening to BM for like 25 years, and behemoth for maybe 20+ years, and I never get bored of some of their albums. I went to one of their concerts in Paris France years back while he was still recovering and it was hell of a show.

1. Behemoth has not been a black metal band for over 20 years, these demos or early albums would have never saw the light of day if it wasn’t for the current popularity.
2. Me and that Man, this is nothing short of what David Vincent and Glenn Danzig have done. Country music is not really a bad thing if it’s done right. I never listen to this side project so I can’t really comment about it except that others have done the same.
3. It’s no one’s business and who Negal is having a relationship with and once again look at who David Vincent married.
4. In recent years Negal’s Interviews complaining about the American death metal scene have really been stupid as most of Behemoth’s music have been greatly influenced by Morbid Angel, Immolation and Deicide. I don’t see or hear any influence by let’s say Darkthrone in Behemoth’s music. Even the name Behemoth was taken from a lyric from a Deicide song.
5. Negal being a media whore Is nothing short of what Gene Simmons did in the past and probably is still doing. Gene Simmons had choirs of children on Kiss albums in the early 80s just so he could Brown Nose his way into acting as Paul Stanley said. This also goes along with the merchandising as Kiss did the same thing how many decades ago.
6. I don’t know why Negel needs a go fund me page for his legal defense when he is supposedly worth $13 million? He’s making money off of all the album sales and merchandising so why does he need everyone else’s money for something he did that was stupid on social media?
Behemoth is not an underground black metal band and is a commercial success on the same level as let’s say Cradle of Filth. Negal does not have to work a real job like other bands have to do when they’re not touring or making an album. Also in recent years especially with the last two albums he’s really came out as a hipster to sell to that demographic because that’s where the money is and these people will buy anything regardless how bad it sounds as long as the black metal label is on it. So yoga, Dopey grooming habits i.e. beard and hair, social media, reviving nostalgia from somebody else’s generation, etc. I’m still a Behemoth fan but they will never be the same as they were let’s say 10 years ago and remember just because someone wears make up like Kiss, has an over the top stage show, etc. doesn’t mean that they are black metal!

Supposedly and always according to the old trOOist gang, black and death metal were formed as some kind of underground, "elitist" movements, meaning that they were never meant to look for any kind of fame or economic success in the musical industry, making any mainstream band an actual enemy under that point of view, specially when they change their sound in order to become more "accesible" for the general audience, because extreme music was made for hard listeners and not for those cheesy, poppy music munchers...
And now being reasonable and with all seriousness, once you grow up you forget about all that elitist bullshit and learn to simply ignore what you don´t like, you become totally fine with any band that follow whatever the hell of a trend they want to follow, this doesn´t mean I enjoy the lack of music integrity or whatever you call it, but after 30 years listening to extreme music, I´m totally clear about my priorities and taste, to the point I don´t need to trashtalk about bands I don´t give a fuck or become any sort of "metal inquisitor". I just listen to my stuff and let people enjoy theirs, regardless of the matter I could consider their musical taste "unworthy" or whatever...

My biggest problem with Nergal (i like both of his bands) i have is when you saw Adam in some talk shows or interview you knew he's a smart and polite guy. Smarter than host for sure, what was opposite to image of metal heads made by faithfull mainstream. Now? Dildos and naked ass.

Point 2: Being an evil metalhead and then being a sociable guy on tv causes clashes, but on the flipside of the coin, that means that extreme metal music in Poland has some buzz, so I think that after all that's ok, although I'd choose other ways to get money.

I don't like that much his blackened death stuff because it's constantly OTT, like a gym guy flexing muscles all the time: impressive at first, but leaves me indifferent after a while. But I can't deny it: Behemoth renewed something in death metal by doing that.
Point 5: Yeah that's more like it. I don't hate Nergal, but I also don't like when a persona is more famous than the music. You say we're all attention whores? I disagree: there is a way to do things without drawing attention and/or being ostentatious. Maybe blackers hate Nergal (or better: give no love to him) because Blackers want more discretion to do things and they wanna be recognized for what they do IN black metal, not for the gestures.
MY PERSONAL OPINION: Nergal is behaving as an influencer, which is something I'm not sure we need in Black Metal, and even if we do, I'm not sure that's the right way to do it.
It's insane that "true" black metal fans would laugh at the possibility of a musician being imprisoned on BS charges by a fascistic theocracy that's destroying Poland simply because they don't like his band and his online presence.
Well, I know "true black metallers" moved to other countries to pursuit their music as BM is banned in their home country. I see no reason why nergal just don't move to another country then.

I read the first 3rd of Nergals book 5 years ago and I couldn't stand his attitude . He's a Megalomaniac whom acts as if he broke new ground in his career ( not even close ) . The most success he's ever had were his 3 DEATH METAL ( some call extreme metal ) records where he RIPPED OF VADER . Vader has always been far better Death Metal band ( ntm all around musicians / songwriters ) . Vader and Decapitated are Polands finest. I take pride in my Polish ancestry but Nergal doesn't represent me at all .

The argument that Behemoth is not black metal anymore is so dumb. When was the last time Nergal said that they play black metal? They changed dramatically after Pandemonic Incantations and it was never black metal any longer, only black metal influences or elements.

As about Behemoth not being black metal, for me it's ok (as soon as Nergal doesn't make some cringy $hit like the last 2 albums and many parts of The Satanist). Nothing is as atmospheric as their old school black metal stuff bud (I love their demos and Sventevith), but Satanica has to be one of their best blackened death efforts, nothing can surpass it. After that, they went deeper and deeper into death metal, until they lost it completely around 2014-18.

Many may hate him because he is successful on what he does. Others hate him because they (the haters) are so "kvlt" and other bullshit; surely they are kids living in a basement at their parent's house. Nergal have the balls to face adversities and take responsibilities for his actions; these are some traits many people , those who claim practicing the left hand path, and artists of all kinds don't even have. Let's not forget he faced cancer, the criticism for being a judge at The Voice, the criticism for his music side project which in my opinion is a very good side project, and now the polish system for being himself and for his art. To tell you the truth, I'm totally sure that many were n his shoes they would end up breaking down, giving up and compromising, something that Nergal is not doing.
