I've seen this band TWICE but never actually listened to their recorded material til about 2 weeks ago, and man; this band is so damn good. They got hooks, the heaviness, flow, and never sound the same.
Adam is such a chill, interesting, and intelligent dude.

I've heard a lot of artists and a few can inspire like him and Max Cavalera. The passion they express when they talk about music, it's really inspiring, although his narrative is more about discipline. I agree that most bands nowadays don't have that soul in their art, it's forgettable many times.
It doesn't matter if you like his music or not, it's good to hear what he said as fuel to do what you're passionate about.

I remember doing the same thing Nergal here explains recording with cassette player music from tv cassette in press play and record :) we had whole iron maiden concert copied that way it was iron maiden long beach live after death and yes the quality wasnt great but we didnt mind it was iron maiden !

Nergal said it. It's not about technique skills. It's about soul. Not he is dead inside to todays music. Music is dead. You might not be the best drummer for example but you can be a good musician and fit perfectly in the place that you fill. You can't change someones place with another musician and expect the same symbiosis within the band.
Technique could be better. Everything could be overproduced, overengineered to death. But it can lack of soul. You maybe dont hear it. But you feel it. You have to feel! And you can feel it with the old bands he mentioned.
Today is more like.. Ok next.. aha sounds good, next... aha not bad ok next.. And you never get hooked on it. Though there are really good bands, still you have to find it.
When it comes to Behemoth, my favorite record is obviously - The Satanist
that record is a work of Art, a masterpiece.
That's the album I first discovered them with. And listening back to the rest of their discography, for me it's a collection of gems here and there.
No One record of them has the same consistency that The Satanist has.
The following records had great production and quite a few gems in there... but it's just not on the same level of consistency
That's my 2 cts anyway - and being from Europe I am actually quite proud of Behemoth being such a force in the Metal scene.

Nergal is finding out what happens as you start to age - you've seen alot and younger/newer stuff just does not touch you unless its really next level.

He is being interviewed at the festival. He is in the roster of Beyond the Gates with Me and that man.
At the gates is the Swedish band. Beyond the gates is a Norwegian festival.
I genuinely question the authenticity of anyone who thinks that Behemoth "sold out".
They never sold out, their sound matured and by consistently playing shows telasing albums the fan base grew.

HAIL BEHEMOTH!!!! I love this guy and the band but when he talked about "getting away with fucking a Polish version of Brittney Spears" my heart stopped. He is talking about Doda ,his ex-girlfriend,a Polish pop singer who helped him to stay alive during his fight against cancer.She did a lot,she started a campaign to find a marrow bone donor,a procedure that could save Nergal's life. The whole country saw that. He shouldn't talk like that about any woman.This is fucking not cool.

I don't care for nergal to be honest I do like Behemoths music but that's about it I don't care for nergals politics and whatever else he's into always thought he should keep his fucking politics to himself like the whole COVID thing calling people who didn't get vaccinated idiots without knowing what people are going through and why they didn't get vaccinated or vaccinated right away and he sounds like a me me me narcissist type of person other than that behemoth as whole is a beast of a blackened death metal band.

From extreme metal scene there's no other person I admire more than Nergal. One of very few artists that could create something very special in this played out boring black/death metal genre. The Satanist is a gem one of a kind, other albums are still great too. Also I truly appreciate the fact that he's from Eastern Europe - we don't have actually ANY good rock or metal bands here, except Behemoth only Poland has maybe 3 or 4 "only" good acts. All the rest are just cheap copies of western bands, so the more I admire him that he managed to get away from this non-creative eastern mentality
i know due to the popularity of behemoth's following i don't expect my comment to be well received but i thought it was a dishonorable act on his part when he blatantly lied about being thrown out of a business because he was wearing a Darkthrone shirt. The owner of the business received quite harsh reactions because of nergal's lie. It may not be a big deal to many of you who will continue to glorify the guy and make excuses for him but as far as i'm concerned when he did that he not only showed himself to be a dishonest person but also someone lacking integrity.

@@plupkination They never said such a thing to him. He admitted later on, after damage had been done, that he made it up "just to stir up some sh*t." He added that he was waiting to see if someone would call him out on it, which is another lie because someone actually did. His driver at the time. When nergal got in the car and told the guy what happened (the lie he made up) the guy asked "Really? Are you being serious?" by which nergal lied and followed through with his lie "yeah, yeah...etc." And he has the nerve to talk of "honesty."

I used to be a listener to the band, I find it funny lately and in this interview he talks about honor, passion, etc. When he lies about getting kicked out of a gym for wearing a Darkthrone t-shirt, he have insulted quite some people on his instagram for having a different opinion on the war than he does, and who knows what else. I had enough when after his illness he started behaving like he was some kind of god, come on guys he's just a human like all of us, now I don't know how many crosses he needs to use to feel more "evil", or how many times he needs to use the word "passion", should got it tattooed because he forgot it. Behemoth now looks more like a fashion show than an "extreme metal" band. After listening to this interview and his latest work, it's enough for me, I don't celebrate clowns!

Why do people like the Satanist so much? No heaviness or pure blasting. Demi God and the Apostasy were their last good albums. The rest is all theatrics.
I'm all for blasting and their death metal years, but Satanist is really good album. Very different, but great. My 2 cents. I'm not sure what to think now about their work after that album though, I'm ambivalent, not hating not cheering... I do agree, their old stuff was very energetic, later stuff is more theatrical, but still have sparks here and there.

My friend and I are unemployed and we do not have any skills, but we want to make tons of money real quick. So please advice what can we do to be like you ? I have scheduled a tattoo session next week, my friend learnt how to throw a bible around his room, how to shout out real loud any word in a dictionary. I just bought a gitar a week ago, but I was told that I am natural and mega talent, my friend will be playing I think drums cause he is good a chopping wood. In a nutshell we want to be a commercialized satanic clowns, so please advice what to do to make it quick and easy ?
