@@ronarprefect7709 I agree that theres lots og things you Christians absurdly, fallaciously claim as evidence but why cant you provide EVEN the tinniest scrap of CREDIBLE evidence of your omnipotent omnipresent god who wants a relationship with me?
Christians do CLAIM to have presented evidence but CLEARLY you cant present even the tinniest scrap of CREDIBLE evidence can you?
We coukd sit down over a coffee and both agree what is credible evidence of 10,000 different objects. E.G 2 wheels and a steering wheel is evidence for a car, a spherical natural satellite 226000 miles away is evidence of the moon, plant with red flowers is evidence of a rose, electronic device with screen is evidence of a t.v.
We would agree that the description of the T.V is NOT credible evidence of the natural sattallite and the rose description is NOT credible evidence of a moble phone!
We would have agreement on 10,000 different objects!
The only object that we would disagree on is when people claim the universe, 'look at the trees', hearsay in a book, or a logically fallacious philosophical argument is evidence that an unembodied MIND with power to speak universe's into existence from nothing and simultaneously read the thoughts of everybody in that universe just popped into existence from nothing!
      Its a total non sequitur!
Why would 2 rational adults be able to agree what is, and what is not credible evidence of 10,000 different objects but NOT on this ONE proposition?

Last year around this time I was in Bocus del Torro Panama for 4 months. I still should not have missed this cus Dr Turek's presentations are like my 2nd priority in life after my son. 😁 I LOVE HIM, I ADORE HIM!! His beautiful precious merry heart is good medicine for my shattered heart and broken spirit. His voice is music to my ears, calming. His laugh makes me laugh. I think this is a very effective presentation of arguments which vary from problematic to downright awful. I would encourage anybody to look at both sides of the argument not just the side you agree with. I have heard very convincing rebuttals to most of what Turek says here. I advise anybody not just to think these are good arguments until you have heard at least one counter to them. Only when you have heard both sides should you make up your mind.
I think Turek is an impressive speaker and he's certainly given me some things to go and look up, but nothing here that I find remotely convincing regarding the existence of a god or the truth of Christianity.

@@MartinHindenes Then you haven't heard what I would consider the best rebuttals. I've actually not heard a rebuttal that relies on a multiverse. They can include these things as options but that's not the same thing as relying on them. My rebuttal doesn't use it at all. The thing is, at best, the cosmological argument and the argument from fine tuning can lead you to hypothesis that God did the things the proponent points out. A hypothesis is not evidence. You need evidence to demonstrate a hypothesis is correct and no theist I am aware of has ever put forward any actual evidence to support their hypotheses.
Apologists present these arguments as evidence but they are merely assertions devoid of evidence to support them. What's worse is that to consider them at all, apologists have to use cherry-picking and circular reasoning.

On the topic of Pharoh and God “hardening” his heart, could we also interpret it as symbolic in the sense that God didn’t physcially harden Pharohs heart but symbolically did through Moses? As in like each time God proved Himself through the actions of Moses (The staff turning to snake, the water turning to blood, etc.), Pharoh saw it and got upset and didn’t want to believe in the God of Israel therefore symbolically God hardened Pharohs heart even though not physcially? I think that’s a good explanation for the reasoning why it’s phrased like that. And the choice of words would be what Frank Turek said about the heart being heavier than a feather.

It also takes longer for animals to grow s as well as humans. Yahweh also created Adam and Eve as fully grown adults. With that being said, when Yah created everything, everything was at its mature growth with the information in dna to then grown and reproduce at His desired rate. Also the word day that was used in Hebrew was Yom, which represented a 24 hour day. Lastly, we only know the round trip speed of light, not the direct speed. With creation being itself a miracle, it is easily understood by the text that when Yahweh created everything, He did so to its completion.

    From Genesis (KJV):
4:2 "And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground."
9:3 "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; "
-> It seems that _meat eating_ was only allowed after the flood when God made a covenant with Noah.
-> Question *A* For what purpose did Abel keep sheeps?
4:4 "And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect."
-> Question *B* It seems that God respected _sin_ , why?

Dr. Turek says that he thinks some of these denominations are good because people like to worship differently. "For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Co 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?" and "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1Co 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
1Co 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1Co 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" also "For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1Co 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you." You see here that the only good division is one that comes in accordance with the bible and against heresy. If you then have a division that is according to mere carnality, that is not good for either and is not the sort of division God wants. If the division is to protect the purity of the church, that is good for those who are not going astray, but bad for those they are being forced to separate from. You don't get a good division that is an improvement on that unity for both groups. God wishes for unity in His people, but not at the expense of right doctrine or failing to purge the church of evil men who refuse to repent. It disturbed me that Dr. Turek said this.

Am a Christian but to explain things from the view of an atheist psychologically I think their lack of belief in God stems from A. The evolution of the world from science without the help of a supernatural encounter (at least that's what they think)...or B. The sense of free will they get knowing that they could live life as they wish without the judgement of a higher being....I think for the most part it has more to do with B than A because a lot of religious countries are also advanced with medicine and science but they still believe in God. B is the main reason for their lack of belief ...and I get it. Take for instance a kid who's parents just won't let him do anything fun.. it really bums the kid out and sometimes he d wish he wants or has no parents either way u wanna put it. in actual sense he needs them..just like God we don't want God... because of his judgement...but we need him. I don't know if that makes sense and why do need him? Because we need a standard for morality..and don't tell me why humans can't be a standard for morality... that's because we are humans with opinions you tell me yours I tell you mine. Humans cant be a standard for morality. In summary of this God does exist.... even the atheist has it just at the back of his mind deep within his mind he knows that According to his beliefs 95% of the time there might be not a proof of God's existence ...but then they know that maybe just maybe there a could be that 5% chance that God does...but then again that's the Whole point of God's glory to make that 5% counts in regards to the 95%....I mean he shows up when we least expect he doesn't need to prove his existence anymore than a boy needs to prove his a boy or a girl needs to prove she s a girl...his essence alone speaks of him.

Hello. I am an atheist. I define atheism as suspending any acknowledgement as to the existence of gods until sufficient credible evidence can be presented. My position is that *_I have no good reason to acknowledge the existence of gods._*
And here is the evidence I must consider when evaluating the claim by theists and as to why I currently hold to such a position.
    1. I personally have never observed a god.
    2. I have never encountered a person whom has claimed to have observed a god.
    3. I know of no accounts of persons claiming to have observed a god that were willing or able to demonstrate or verify their observation for authenticity, accuracy, or validity.
    4. I have never been presented a valid logical argument which also employed sound premises that lead deductively to a conclusion that a god(s) exists.
    5. Of the 46 logical syllogisms I have encountered arguing for the existence of a god(s), I have found all to contain multiple fallacious or unsubstantiated premises.
    6. I have never observed a phenomenon in which the existence of a god was a necessary antecedent for the known or probable explanation for the causation of that phenomenon.
    7. Several proposed (and generally accepted) explanations for observable phenomena that were previously based on the agency of a god(s), have subsequently been replaced with rational, natural explanations, each substantiated with evidence that excluded the agency of a god(s). I have never encountered _vice versa._
    8. I have never experienced the presence of a god through intercession of angels, divine revelation, the miraculous act of divinity, or any occurrence of a supernatural event.
    9. Every phenomenon that I have ever observed has *_emerged_* from necessary and sufficient antecedents over time without exception. In other words, I have never observed a phenomenon (entity, process, object, event, process, substance, system, or being) that was created _ex nihilo_ - that is instantaneously came into existence by the solitary volition of a deity.
    10. All claims of a supernatural or divine nature that I have encountered have either been refuted to my satisfaction, or do not present as falsifiable.
ALL of these facts lead me to the only rational conclusion that concurs with the realities I have been presented - and that is the fact that there is *_no good reason_* for me to acknowledge the existence of a god.
I have heard often that atheism is the denial of the Abrahamic god. But denial is the active rejection of a substantiated fact once credible evidence has been presented. Atheism is simply withholding any acknowledgement until sufficient credible evidence is introduced. *_It is natural, rational, and prudent to be skeptical of unsubstatiated claims, especially extraordinary ones._*
I welcome any cordial response. Peace.

When Yah had the Israelites rest on the seventh day, He didn’t mean for it to go on forever…Yah was very deliberate and specific. I love you Frank, but I beg you to do your research on this. Because if we poorly exegete the book of Genesis in this way, why not the rest? Also, Yah is infinitely just, loving, merciful, etc , which means hell is infinite because God’s justice is infinite. If the society is progressing towards God's will being done, then that would be a good progression. I don't think that is likely to happen before the Second Coming of Jesus. @@nickjones6651 Since when did we get rid of Christian morality? It is codified into our laws to a large extent, and for good. "Thou shalt not kill", "Though shalt not steal", "Thou shalt not bear false witness"(perjury), are an integral part of civilized society. Modern education and science is largely owed to the belief in God. Public education came from people wanting everyone to be able to read the bible. Science largely came from men who wanted to understand the universe God made--and thereby God--better. The very notion of mercy towards others rather than brutality is based in Christianity and started before Christ came in the flesh.

In Genesis 1, "day" is exactly 24 hours. Consult the Jewish scholars on this. And yes, in other parts of the Bible, "day" may mean something else. And as for "hell", unsaved people do not suffer eternally since that would mean that they live forever as well. But only those who accept Jesus will have eternal life. Hell does not now exist (all the dead are asleep except a very few, e.g. Moses and those resurrected when Jesus died). There will be a hell when Jesus returns the THIRD time to Earth. The unrighteous dead will be resurrected and immediately destroyed by fire (including Satan and the fallen angels). Hell is a brief moment (maybe a few days at most?) when all unrighteousness will be burned up, totally annihilated. God is love and just, so He cannot punish people eternally for sins they committed in this brief lifetime.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
    Complete Jewish Bible:
For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and the wondrous adviser, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, called his name, "the prince of peace."
Now we see that Isaiah 9:6 is about a baby born to be the future king of Judah. There is no suggestion that he was “the mighty God”, because it is “the mighty God” who supposedly calls him the prince of peace. This theme is carried forward into Isaiah 9:7, which says he will sit on the throne of David to establish his kingdom and support it with justice and righteousness
