  • I finally got the ski pylon installed before the end of the season. I show what it looks like inside and outside, as well as my first few attempts. I end with a recap of what I will be doing for the start of next season, and of course I will be bringing plenty of wake board videos for 2022. Like, Comments, Share, and SUBSCRIBE!!!

    You have to gun it right away. Get the rope tight with the boarder, then gun it. The velocity will pull them right out of the water. Keep your knees bent until you’re already out of the water. The water and the board will do The work. Also. 25-30 is the ideal speed. Anything slower will make it tough on the boarder.

    You cannot pull softly. When the rope is tight, hit full throttle till the rider stands up and then give less power. Pay attention to the wakeboarder, that person will ask you either more or less power. Sky moguls is a posh extra very helpful. With my Spark, I had to put sport mode just to do monosky to take me out of the water. My girlfriend has a very sensitive finger when towing in water sports. It's a matter of listening the guy in the water.

      Yeah. That's why I plan on installing the ski module to assist whoever is driving. The ski stopped and started so much I am sure he didn't keep adjust VTS, let alone go into sport every time. And then starting slower off the line as you said. Lot of factors at play but hopefully people can learn from it. I can't wait for next season though. Also going to get a kneeboard as well so people can do either one.**SK**

      100%. Next to impossible to stand up at low RPMs. SMASH it, and and then throttle back.

    I have been wakeboarding out of friends skies and boats, it took sometime to learn it, but after you get up it gets easier every time. Getting my skies from Scranton Powersports this year and got my own wakeboard setup recently. Can’t wait to get in the water. Where do you usually ride here in CT?

      Nice. I been meaning to schedule an appointment to have the ski module installed. Plan on getting a kneeboard this year too. The river most often. I wanted to try a few lakes in the western part of the state..Like candlewood. Heard it's not all that but it's the largest I believe. I been to a couple others but nothing frequent. First I have to get the ski out 😎. That's the goal for this weekend depending on the weather. Last weekend was perfect but I had other stuff going on.**SK**

    Also Seadoo said you are not allowed to tow inflatables with that Pylon, they won't cover it under warranty, its wakeboard/wakeskate/ski only

      I think that is more for their new LinQ system, especiallysince they have dedicated cleats. I've seen countless people use the pylon for tubers. I did all vacation. Idk if I would tube with 5 people on a Bubba or something...but 1 Adult should be OK. Long as the tube is inflate well, you clear slack, get on plan and don't mess around dragging them for a 100 yards. I also wouldn't bother rising it up for the tubers...just leave it in the low position as it's still higher than the typical Jhook. But I understand the concern from their messaging.

    • @bitcoinbeast
      @bitcoinbeast 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SKLIFEstyle yes correct, sorry I didnt realise you didnt have the linq system. Does that mean yours is stronger? And able to tow manta rays etc?

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bitcoinbeast possibly stronger. But I think possibly stronger. There's probably isn't made a such for sustained load hard to say. But if they have a dedicated cleat seems reasonable to use that although it looks very low to the water so you probably really want a float for the rope to keep it away from the intake. I may get one this year for tow sports and for towing a little dingy I just bought. Videos will def be up on that next month. Probably do a whole series, should be pretty cool.

    The rope is nowhere near long enough, and speed needs to be around 21-23mph

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it seemed to work better as I shoetend the rope up as the angle of pull rose up, as the ski boats usually have a severely steep rise on the rope due to their height. But between the mod and more time this year I'm sure I will get the right combination.

    Did you have to drill the hull to install it?

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the dealership do it..but yes you do have to cut the hull. To be honest it doesn't look that complicated. But to me the extra $100 was worth it for peace of mind.**SK**

    Was the driver not you or the ski pole. Take off was way too slow. My GTI130 only struggles with big guys. You should be able to pop up easy with a bit more power in the takeoff. Thanks for the vid.

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah he wasn't the best for it. I did buy the ski module which I plan on installing this spring so no matter who is driving that should help. Plus I will shorten the rop like another 8 feet so the angle of pull should be better. I have wakeboarded a few times...never from a ski before that, but I know how to get up and ride no problem so that was a bit frustrating. But something to look forward too for this coming season. Grabbing a kneeboard as well this spring. Thanks for checking out the channel and comments!**SK**

    I heard your not supposed to pull tubers with the ski pylon it will snap

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't extend it when I pull someone, but I have and will still pull tubers. Not an every weekend thing, and only 1 tuber at a time. But I have heard that too though.**SK**

    • @Andrew-mr2dw

      So its safe to pull tubers as long as the pole it down?

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andrew-mr2dw I have never seen anything make a distinction between up down. I would think mechanically it is more structurally secure closed vs extended. But I can't say with 100% confidence that it's enough differnce to still not cause damage. Personally, I think people would be tubing 3/4 tubers at once with it up and probably a lot snapped so BRP made some overarching disclaimer. But 1 tuber, pole down, hard to imagine it's that different then pulling someone on a wakeboard pole up.

      Is it easier than using the eye tow hook. I git a 2021 gti and the eye hook is lower nit by the seat.

    • @SKLIFEstyle
      @SKLIFEstyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andrew-mr2dw They are both just as easy to use, perhaps the pylon just a little easier since you don't have to bring the rope through anything, just drop it on the knotch. But thr eye hook is great. One thing I noticed is the lack of places to tie off from the back. Can't use the pylon as a cleet for mooring like the eye hook can. New model may have the pull out dock lines so that isn't a big deal. I find myself using the grab handles in the back to tie off.
