Ok this HAS to be the very best and concise video on this topic of how to look over a used jet ski prior to purchasing. FANTASTIC. I need to revise this a couple of times, but man this was great!
Excellent info for any beginners looking at purchasing a ski . It's such a minority sport here at the moment but growing ! Looking forward to the next vid .... how about a tour of the work shop or a quick oil and spark plug change etc... #pwcireland
Thanks for the tips. With seadoos having so many issues it baffles me why people still buy them esp if you have reliable machines like kawi and yamaha to pick from.
Ok this was Absolutly one of the VERY BEST TH-cam videos on jet skis. I got lucky and bought my first ski last year and it is running flawlessly . However I did not know any of this. Wow. I LOVE this video and subscribed to your channel. Fast pace, tons of practical information that will help me a lot. THANK YOU. Although I have a 2022 on order I’m hearing not very good feedback on the 2021 and especially the 2022 Sea Doos. I might purchase another recently used ski maybe a 2020. QUESTION. Sea Doo stopped making the "suspension " seat as of 2017, and I hear it’s a pain to take this seat off for repaires I’m 65 and suspect this seat and hull is a very smooth ride. Does the hassle of seat versus then comfort justify a 2017? Or does the new hull design of st3 ride just as comfortable?? Thanks
YES! I do a Pre mix!!!! Meanwhile, I changed both the Start/Stop Box and Starter Solenoid and check led the fuse all new! The starter will engage and turn the motor over when I jump to two poles on the solenoid but I still don't have any power going up to my start switch could this be a bad CDI?
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures I held off. As someone who's new too PWCs I have to ask. What would you say is the real cut off year where technology really changed in Sea Doos? Like whats the oldest year you'd look for if you were trying to save some money ?
I’ve had my 2004FXHO listed on OfferUp for over two years now with just bites. Nobody is willing to drop 3K for a four stroke that’s 20 years old even if in great condition like mine. Some people are just cheap.
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures Seadoo has something called a Spark, which is a great place to start. The price is affordable and financing is available. Unlike a car, when a used jet ski breaks down and you are out on the water, you cannot just walk to safety. Reliability is sooooo important. You don't know what you are getting when you buy used; trust me, I speak from experience.
You're right to a certain point but there's nothing wrong with a good low hour ski example less Then 40hrs you can save a substantial amount over new pricing and 40hrs is nothing as long as the ski isn't damaged and it all checks out
@@conpoulos7233 I would just be a little worried that it wasn't broken in the right way...but you do have a point - a low-hours, relatively new ski still under warranty is a good bet --- but in that case, I might ask why it's being sold and try to discern if the reason is valid. "The wife is making me do it" might be a valid reason, but if someone told me they were "bored" with it, I would be a bit suspicious.
Yea 100% buying second hand is always a risk but there is some good ones once in a while For example back in 2016 I sold my 2015 FX SVHO with only 28hours on it bcoz I received a different position at work and worked most weekends and just didn't have the time to use the ski,
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures Actually it does because a "Jet Ski" is a PWC just like a Mustang as a car. "Jet Ski" is a brand name exclusively for Kawasaki PWC's just like a Mustang is a brand name of a Ford car. So my analogy is spot-on. I mean why are you excluding Yamaha WaveRunners, Can-Am Sea-Doos, and even older Honda Aquatrax?

I find this channel and the content, gold.
Thanks a mill dude.
This guy made me want to move to Ireland (From the US).
I’m not in Ireland but this was very informative.
Great video guys. Well done!
Thanks for the tips. With seadoos having so many issues it baffles me why people still buy them esp if you have reliable machines like kawi and yamaha to pick from.
they also have problems, but there are way more seadoos on the water so statistically it will seem like they have more problems
Great video thanks for posting. Where is good to buy new yamaha ski?
Good video can you do a video about laws , Insurance , rules , and were to buy them
You're right about trailer registration being a pain in the US.
Great fun making this one. Hope everyone likes it :)
Amazing video!
Great job! Fast talker… what are bits and bobs? Haha
Straight to the point,
Thanks
thanks buddy

Hi jimi, ill have to ask ken for this problem, ill be back when i find out

Glad you liked it!
Very helpful thanks
Glad it helped
does anyone know what year that black rxpx is ?
Great informative video!
Thanks will have colour coded skis like you some
Day :-)
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures Ireland is on my list. Such a beautiful country. Some of those spots y’all ski are knotch!
Is the Yamaha or Seadoo more reliable? How many hours would you prefer to buy one with?
Great video
What are your thoughts on Yamaha ??
I see a lot of videos of people installing a stainless steel wear ring, which seems kinda risky. What is your opinion?
We dont like them, if you get a stone stuck in there it could bend the drive shaft, the plastic ones are sacrificial
1997 Seadoo bombier GSX should i buy one?
hmmmmmm, i wouldn't but some people love older skis

Offer up sucks. Have you trying fb marketplace? That's not a bad price as long as it's in good shape like you say.
very good video !
Thanks for watching
Thanks
Just saying, with trailers, it is way simpler if you just get carpet slips.
How much the Used jetkie price..
Great content just poor camera work, focus issues etc. Good reference to past issues like the gold washer issue
Thanks 👍
Great info but buying a seat strut isn’t cheap when you buy it from seadoo
like most things from seadoo
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If i want to buy a jetski should I start with Yamaha or seadoo
Kawasaki or Yamaha 👍
Top man!
Why can't you run the water through with engine off?
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures that doesnt make any sense. would you want the water to flow before starting engine.
2020 rxtx with 30 hours on for 14k good deal or bad ? No issues
@@IrelandsAtlanticAdventures I got it, just got off the water with it wow amazing 71mph no problem thank you again
at what trim should i leave it at if i just want to ride and gas it
howmuch its that
Nice work Ken !! :-) oh and nice work DOD too I suppose :-)
Thanks ! Good day for recording in Limerick ! Lots more info and vids to come !
Probably best take a mechanic with me
These men accent almost sounds like a Jamaican accent
lol, best comment we have ever seen on here. thanks for watching buddy :)
Wait till you hear cork or dublin or even limerick mate🤣🤣
The Jamaican accent has Irish connections origins also Scotland England And African
Yamaha=waverunner, Kawasaki =jetski, BRP=seadoo
Cool 👌

Here is the VERY BEST tip for buying a used jet ski - DON'T EVER BUY A USED JET SKI !!! Just buy a new one.

You CANNOT run a Sea-doo out of the water for 5 or 10 minutes. If you try this be prepared to completely have a 100% destroyed engine.
"Buying a used PWC or jetski", why don't you just title it buying a used car or a Mustang.
