THANK YOU from over the pond. I've been wondering/needing something like this and I didn't want to blow money on something that didn't actually work. Here in California we have a LOT of bright sunny days, I lose LOS on my drone almost instantly, even when I think I know where it is.
Great video, but Goo Gone is a product that easily removes that "sticky residue" so there's no need to worry about it. For a sub 250 gram drone the added weight of the mounts can add unwanted weight pushing the weight of the drone to very close to that 250 grams decreasing the flight time of these smaller drones. In order to avoid losing sight of the strobe when the drone pitches forward I'd just mount a strobe to both the bottom and the top of the drone. Also, having a strobe on the top makes it more visible to aircraft which is their original intent.
I have got 2 of the white Flyton strobe lights and i use the dual lock fasteners that they sell which are really secure. I out one on the top and to comply with CAA night flying rules and one on the bottom to help VLOS in the dark. Night flying is great fun and i would love you to do a video. Keep up the good work. Thank you Peter. Yes, I saw those dual lock fasteners and they seem a great alterative to the mounts. I reckon you could even use those to mount three lights at once (two on the legs for VLOS and a warning light on top) without going over the 250g limit.
Yes I bought a red and a green one from flytron, BTW worth pointing out that if you need Velcro then you have to order that separately, they dont come with it. I had some thankfully. In the dark the strobes really show up well but the sensitivity of the camera in dark on the mini 2 is not great.
I have not done a night flight yet (a bit frustrating but its just been too cold and windy here) but I don't expect my Mini 2 camera will see much as I live in a very rural area with only fields and few lights. Will be a good test for checking the distance on the strobe lights though!
A night time flight will be in the works, it should be fun seeing how much further the drone can remain visible with the bright strobes against a darkened sky. Thank you for your kind encouragment!
Vifly for the WIN. Velcro comes in different holding strengths.... The sticky can safely be removed from plastics with some Coconut oil and slight Elbow grease. Those mounts are cute but weigh to much.
How on earth do one order the strobe light holders for the Mini 2 ? I’ve ordered a couple of white lights using GavinsHR site with the added discount, but cannot see how to order the holders! 👍

I already bought a couple of cheapies which were no good at all, but the one you have here seems to work just fine. Not so sure about the printed mount though, and am wondering if the stobe is as bright no matter which direction it is facing from you? Liked & Subbed :)
Very helpful video. It looks like the location display still points a little bit to the left of target. What do you think? (We say on the blink as well, “we” being old fogies in the U.S.)

Have been using these lights for sometime now and they really help maintain sight of the drone . Given the Mini2 colour flying on a grey day can be difficult. I use the under body type mount and have drilled a hole in the mount so I can turn the drone on and off whilst the strobe light is mounted 👍

Regrettably, the obvious usefulness of the device and the excellent promotion by Flufffinger has resulted in the product being Out of Stock .... does anyone have any idea when they will be back in stock or if there is an alternative supplier with stock ?
Oh yeah I just checked on Amazon they have the standalone device but not the fly more combo. Hopefully it won’t take too long before the stocks start coming back in!
If you can't see it after 300m, nobody can, so fly as far as you want and have fun... If someone see it at 2 km, he doesn't know where is the pilot, and will not search for it. Just have fun... LOS sucks.
