    Yogesh and Victoria are amazing. Doing to Matt, Mattea, Amy, and James what they usually did to other contestants. They belong.

    Game 7: Mattea scored 18,000 points before Final Jeopardy. Amy bet 9,601, taking her score to 36,001 and won.
    Game 8: James scored 18,000 points before Final Jeopardy. Yogesh bet 17,601, taking his score to 36,001 and won.

    I did not expect Yogesh to win like that, and it’s not like Victoria miscalculated and meant to wager 13,200 points. Even if Victoria did wager that, she still would have lost.

      @@ErnwaldoMakes sense, it doesn't help either that this is like the umpteenth tournament in a row we've seen and so at this point the all-in DD wagers are almost kinda expected.
      But yeah, considering Victoria is already guaranteed a slot in the semis my guess is that she wanted to try out a different wagering strategy since she can afford to do so and also just to prepare in case she feels it's necessary in the future.

    • @NickTheEnlightened
      @NickTheEnlightened 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I think Victoria and Yogesh really are just that good... They're both elite trivia players and have seemingly mastered the buzzer, and that fact combined with James having a year of buzzer rust is causing him to struggle a bit.
      Regardless it's not over yet, remember that points reset in the semis and that there's always a ton of variance in Jeopardy games. I sadly don't think James is the favorite like I initially expected, but he still absolutely has a damn good shot of winning.

    • @NickTheEnlightened
      @NickTheEnlightened 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @anidiotmakesthingsHe's clearly mastered the timing of the buzzer and is good at ringing in. That was my point. I agree his buzzing STYLE is annoying, but that wasn't what I was arguing here.

      @NickTheEnlightened 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @anidiotmakesthingsRegardless of what you want to call it though, he's clearly become very fast at clicking on and is able to do so before the other contestants often, and that fact combined with his massive knowledge base is why he's doing so well in this Masters.

      I agree, which is why I haven't even watched any of this master's tournament. I get sick of seeing the same people over and over. What really gets me is that Amy lost JIT but because she's the "teacher's pet", she got invited to master's anyway. Where's the fairness in that? I'd be pissed if I'd be those other players who lost JIT. Actually, I haven't even been warching the regular Jeopardy game because I've become tired of the whole thing. They're going downhill and I don't know why they couldn't have stuck with the regular format.

I did well in school but as you get older, I think you lose some of that. I know I did. My cousin, who is a trivia person, was on Jeopardy about 20 years ago, whereas I wouldn't even think of going on there and making a fool of myself. Well, I doubt if I'd even pass the test, and I don't really care. If those people can do it, well then I guess good for them.
