Coming at your way is a large purple spike ball, as you shoot the petal beeping red while dodging the purple spiked ball that chases you, you've finally pulverized one of the petal, but you just killed Flowey's bond with you, mentally and physically many blood cells come rushing in, you have to kill the source, you don't have a choice.
I am commenting on every single song of the Undertale Yellow Soundtrack playlist! (Read this knowing I discovered, explored and played Deltarune (in 2021) before Undertale (in 2022), which to the current day of this comment I have only watched the entirety of, but not actually played. Hence why I assume that I like Deltarune more than Undertale, because it was personal and... new, in a way, but can still feel what I would call a "fake" nostalgia from Undertale despite that). I played Undertale Yellow one time. My playthrough went across from 10/12/2023 to 26/12/2023, during a total of 15-16 days. I played it, aimed for the best, and got True Pacifist. When I finish it, I tell Flowey to wait. And get off the computer for the day. Some days pass by, and I finally start watching a True Pacifist route on YT. Some days pass by again, and I gain the courage to watch the not-so-dark path, and then the truly dark path. Some time passes once again, and I finally watch the end offered by Flawed Pacifist. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO? Uhm... Maybe check my heartbeat...? GREAT! Y'know, when I first saw this phase's design, I didn't think it was that scary. Now I'm kinda realizing, the more I look at it, the more uncomfortable I- IS THAT THING LOOKING DIRECTLY AT ME?! I'm actually being genuine here. The cartoony style of this one drove me kinda off of the disturbance a long time ago, but the uneasiness grew on me a bit more when I saw this again. It's kinda smart to bring a theme this uncanny, to then represent it on a less serious art style. Can't say I am not thankful for it, or else I feel this could've gotten a lot darker if this took a more... realistic approach (I actually think THAT was the initial decision, but then they saw it and said "maybe we should tone things down a bit or else we're gonna have to pay for some trauma reports"). Also, a completely different aesthetic from before! Not much to say about its uniqueness, aside from the greetable two-dimensional, cartoon-like lineart and the discomfort that I'm feeling going up in my body the longer I look at this thing! I already have some fobias related to blood and organs and insides, but I didn't think that fear could be triggered in THIS way too... For some reason, the only way of this abomination expressing itself being through its eyes is way more unsettling than it has the right to be! What worsens it is the change after Clover shoots off the first petal. Initially, it gives you a menacing look, staring directly at you, but after its only defense is broken, it firmly closes its eyes, like the agony is too much for it to handle... Yeesh... Just all those veins connecting to the main body... it's giving me the itches (I just can't understate the horror I realized when looking at this again). If I was not one to be disturbed by this sight, I could also see a great contrast between the drawn pulsing creature and the music that accompanies it. If I take the lens of "oh it's just a drawing, it's not even realistic, I'm totally fine with this!", "specimen: organic" is pretty... strange. There seems to be no leading melody here like the last specimen (which based itself on the Flowey motif), which makes it feel even more bizarre and detached from an actual song, treating it more like a threatening ambience. It's not even the heartbeat monitor's beeps that shock me (even though that long one at the end could end up being VERY frightening if it had some seconds of silence before it looped back), it's that freaking syntethizor thing that (literally) plays left and right! It made me recall one of those Flowey tracks from when he was still toying around with Clover being at the edge of life. That would probably be the reason why I find it so uncomfortable to hear, it gives an empty and soulless vibe to this tune. Aside from that note, the song itself is really not that special or super enjoyable to listen to. The samples and instruments are fitting, though, and I can say it puts you through a coma of discomfort if you let yourself be taken by its uncertainty. The raining red blood cells look like strawberry chewy gums. Now I want to eat some of those (talk about a mood change). The virus thing tracking the SOUL's movement is pretty cool too! Despite the meaning and significance that I found in Organic Flowey, practically by just bothering to look into it a bit more, I don't think it tops Patchwork Flowey. By design? It came down to be a pretty fair battle. By music? DEFINITELY "specimen: patchworked". "specimen: organic" might be effective on the emotions that it portrays, but I can't let go of my happily insane clowning music! At least, not just yet! So... 1. specimen: patchworked 2. specimen: organic (16/06/2024) (Even though they were both two quickfire tracks, a Two For One is still something to be proud of in my eyes! X)
Considering Asriel and Chara fused souls in an attempt to bypass and break the barrier, Clover is (at least) the second human for Flowey to have in his mind. Plus, he would have read about humans in the dumps in waterfall, as well. Maybe some medical books were discarded there?
