My father had read the book. I used to see him study the book while travelling through buses and trains. That's why i watched the movie with an emotion. ❤🙏

While I admit to loving the spin with the tech side of this new version... I am a little disappointed in the fact that this version does not truly represent the book and the full story of Collin, Dickens, and Mary. Mary and Collin have a love story that grows in the true story. One that begins as friendship, and once grown, turns to love and marriage. They were not family, and it would have been nice to see that part of the story included in this version. That said though, this was a very unique and intriguing version, and I did enjoy it greatly. Having seen the original movies, read the book and even seen a play of this once, I do still think this was a great spin off, in its own right and manner. Thank you for sharing this with us!
1. I don't know what "true" version you've read is, but in the original book and adaptations afterward, Collin and Mary never get married. In the original book, they are only children, while there are some adaptations where Dickon and Mary end up together, Collin and Mary never do.
2. They're cousins. You're sad that the cousins don't get married.
I watched this movie a few years ago and it is fabulous, if you like Steampunk or you just want an alternative version. It is refreshing and altogether original. I am going to sit down and watch it again. Thank you very much.

This is my first watch of this story so I've nothing to compare it to. I enjoyed the dialouge and storyline, very much so.

I enjoy watching it, I remember that movie when I was a teenager it was a series @ it was not a machine related Robin then is a bird @ the garden is a beautiful nature man made garden oh wow it all coming back in my mind now I'm in early 50 widow w/o child still I enjoy watching it. The message is about love for the family.
I read this book when I was in my teens here 30+ yrs l8r ... Still love it! And I love the steampunk version very odd and different approach to a classic 👍

The first movie made was the best!
The book is one of my all-time favourites, but I wasn't expecting this post-apocalyptic interpretation. It's a slightly bizarre curiosity, for all the direct quotations from the book that O. Smith included in the script.

the original movie was better, one of the most magical films i ever seen that sticks with you forever. thats the only reason im giving this one a chance, but so far it feels awkward. the soundtrack especially is…quantity over quality. the soundtrack from the original film and the sweet little actors…impossible to improve upon by changing.
