  • In this video i'll be reviewing Eono Silk PLA filament from Amazon.
I don't often do review videos but Eono reached out to me to see if i wanted to check out some of their filament. I made it very clear that I would only do a review if they were happy for me to be completely honest. If i hate it, i'll say so. I am not being paid for this or any review i do as i don't want to ever be under any pressure to give anything but 100% honest information.
Eono agreed and the next day i had an Amazon prime delivery at my door.

Great to see you getting goods to review! Measuring the diameter is an excellent step to take - so thorough. As is weighing it to determine water content. I'm impressed by both your methodology and the product. I'll definitely give this filament a go. Thanks for the unbiased testing and advice.

Polymaker Silk PLA prints on the Ender 3 S1 Pro very well. Haven't tried Amazon basics filament yet, after this review I'll probably give it a go eventually. Thank you for the informative video.

I recently tried to replace the extruder for a dual gear metal unit from Redrex. The redesign gear to prevent the gear from eating away at the frame is what sold me on this model...
What a waste of time! It was shredding filament from the start. Couldn't get it calibrated. One minute it would extrude out 120 mm and then it would spit out 300 or so!
I put the original plastic extruder back on, calibrated that and have it printing the best it has ever so far!
I would like to see a video of what you feel is the most important things to focus on if you don't mind. That silk PLA prints out nice! I'll have to get some!

I'll give it some thought Jeff. I usually only recommend replacing parts that fail or that you know are a problem but there are other times when you will want or need to change parts.

@@RickyImpey that's what I usually do too but everyone keeps saying how these extruders fail so much I thought I'd hit this one off at the pass before it became a problem. I've barely gone through one roll of filament so far and the original extruder is still working fine and hasn't cracked yet.

@@jeffallen3382 yes my standard one is still fine but it's obviously a common part to fail so worth having a spare for when it fails.

I bought Amazon Basics silver silk based on this video. It is absolutely horrible. Can't even print a Benchy. It's going back to Amazon. The time I wasted wasn't worth the $3 I saved.
