I really like the concept and have had some success. However I struggle with rolling the club away at start. What would be another thought or feel to get the club back with wrist properly set.
Hi and thanks for commenting on my video. The thing to remember is that, whilst the overwhelming movement in our golf swing is a rotational one, we are still effectively swing upwards at the same time. Try not to roll your club and wrists back behind you, instead, try to feel that your right wrist has bent back as far as it physically can, this will then make the arm fold and in turn, pull your right shoulder behind your neck. I hope this has helped. P.S. Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already 😊 Thanks again Ian Sadler.
Hi Dave. No, the club at the top of the backswing will be in a perfect neutral position. The angle of the bat is demonstrating the shaft plane. Regards Ian.
I posed a question regarding this same topic to a couple of people with mixed responses. So if I extend my turn back and fold the right arm like you said, and if I focus on just unfolding the right arm while the right palm is moving away, wouldn't this square the clubface up. Doesn't this YoYo action of the arm rotate the clubface back to the ball, or am I crazy that this is working. I have hit the ball great lately just fold the right arm and unfolding it. I have had a few over draw/hooks but that was because I unfolded a little early, I think. I would like to know your thoughts on this.
Hi Nathan. Thanks again for showing an interest in my content. The main point to remember here is, as long as you have shifted your weight to your lead side then you can't unfold or un-hinge too soon in the downswing. As strange as it may sound, you can also hook the ball by being too late with the delivery of the hands and arms. What tends to happen with a lot of golfers is they get a little stuck behind on the downswing and then to compensate for this our bodily movement slows down and then the hands are forced to take over and cause early extension. I hope this has helped you. Message me any time. Regards Ian.
Hello and thanks for commenting. My other video explaining conception talks about this in more detail. However, as I produce more content I will cover these aspects in more detail. Regards Ian.
Thanks for commenting Dave. No this is not a rolling action this is a setting or loading of the wrists. This is a natural movement that 99% of top golfers do. Some might set this position later in the backswing and some earlier. Hope this helps. Regards Ian.
Excellent coaching video Ian
Thanks again Alan. I sincerely appreciate your valued input. Regards Ian.
Outstanding explanation. Imo.
Thank you so much!

I Ian-also does it lead to the club face being open on the top of the backswing 👍

I Ian does that encourage rolling the wrists at takeaway which is wrong to some people 👍
