We have a Trans woman on our staff, we don't mind her using our loo. She is gracious and considerate and it's private. However, if we had to undress that would not be tolerated. She would have to use the unisex bathroom for one and do whatever was required there.

I am a woman who has suffered years of sexual abuse by three different men in my childhood (6-17) and struggled with intimacy my whole life. NEVER could I go and see a male gynaecologist. And in this sick world I would have to be subjected to this, how depraved have we become as a society. So many women have suffered extreme trauma like this and there is nothing to protect their basic intimacy. Gender and sex aren't the same thing. Gender is a social construct of how you are supposed to act or dress according to your sex. Sex is a material reality defined by your chromosomes and sexual organs. You may dress however you want (gender) and still your sex won't change. Hence why transwomen are men. No amount of make-up, long hair or dresses will make a male a female. You either are born female or you can't be a woman. Simple enough.

When i did my adult nursing placement at the hospital they had unisex changing rooms/showers. As I have noticed 90% of changing rooms users were men including me. Around 10 %of all were women who always just tried to hide around the corder made out of lockers just to get some privacy.I really felt sorry for them that they had to do that and get changed while us men were in the same changing room. You should see in what speed these women used to get changed just to minimise the risk of being exposed.

My changing room is tiny for the number of women using it in a big department : the back wall is two loos and a shower cubicle, the front wall is all lockers and the entrance, if I touch the lockers and spread my arms I can nearly touch the loo door, so not very wide, both side walls taken up with coat hooks and more lockers. Some women use the shower room to change anyway, for modesty. If it is busy at shift change times, you have to wait or ask someone to move, to get to your coat hook or locker. If a man was in there, in his boxers you would turn around and find yourself backed up against a penis. Or bend down to tie your shoe laces and come up face to face with a penis. There will be mass complaints if a man starts using our change room.

In the Scottish Borders a few months ago a man dressed as a woman picked up a young girl and keeped her hostage and sexually abused the young girl over s few days..The brave young girl managed to find the landline in his house and called for help.I believe the young girl wouldn't have got into the car if he was dressed as a man but with him being dressed as a woman she must have thought she was safe.That girl will never be the same again with her ordeal..

In WW2, my dad joined the army here in the UK, in 1939 when he was 19. We sadly lost him in 1995, when he was 75. My mum was 61 when my dad died. She said that my dad told her, that during the war, if he had to travel by train, he made sure he didn't get in a carriage if one woman was in there, on her own. He didn't want to be accused of anything he didn't do - that was from 1939 to 1945. We need to be honest and real, men in dresses should NOT go into women's changing rooms, toilets or prisons.

Gender and sex aren't the same thing. Gender is a social construct of how you are supposed to act or dress according to your sex. Sex is a material reality defined by your chromosomes and sexual organs.

I didn't want to strip off in front of my own sex, let alone men in dresses! Of course, it didn't matter in front of my boyfriend.

When i did my adult nursing placement at the hospital they had unisex changing rooms/showers. As I have noticed 90% of changing rooms users were men including me. Around 10 %of all were women who always just tried to hide around the corder made out of lockers just to get some privacy.I really felt sorry for them that they had to do that and get changed while us men were in the same changing room. You should see in what speed these women used to get changed just to minimise the risk of being exposed.

There is a HUGE difference between a post-surgery trans woman, and a pre-surgery (ie. still physically masculine) person. And in open-plan changing facilities (always an awful idea in my own opinion) nobody should have to worry about their safety. What on earth has happened to common sense? Do we no longer care for anyone's feelings, or well-being??
A born biological woman who identifies as a woman, should have the same rights to be offended or feel threatened as someone who identifies as a transgender woman, who was born a biological man. I will not use a public toilet or changing room which allows this, or take my children into this sort of facility. That is my right. I hope I have used the correct terminology in this post, as I haven’t a clue what terminology to use without offending someone! (I am not phobic about any race, gender, religion etc I just believe in equality across the board not just for people who feel they have more rights than anyone else).

My changing room is tiny for the number of women using it in a big department : the back wall is two loos and a shower cubicle, the front wall is all lockers and the entrance, if I touch the lockers and spread my arms I can nearly touch the loo door, so not very wide, both side walls taken up with coat hooks and more lockers. Some women use the shower room to change anyway, for modesty. If it is busy at shift change times, you have to wait or ask someone to move, to get to your coat hook or locker. If a man was in there, in his boxers you would turn around and find yourself backed up against a penis. Or bend down to tie your shoe laces and come up face to face with a penis. There will be mass complaints if a man starts using our change room.

They are not forced to strip. No one puts a gun on them. They can refuse to enter any changing room until they feel safe. If they are ALL late for their shift the hospital will change its policy. All you have to do is stand together, but women dont stick together, thats the problem. 1 or 2 will, and the rest will ketyp quiet & let them take the fall 🤷♂️
