    I can't believe how far up MNRR Harlem Line travels outside NYC limits!!

      Now I see why it can only run express within the city; the northern stations are spaced too far apart for any to be skipped.

    I also back in rhe 70's, when MN was experimenting with high speed.
    Mt first look at the German ICE1...
    Many years later i went from Switzerland to Germany on board ICE3...

    First let me say, thank you.
    Back in my 20's blue line was my route, from Bedford Hill's to Grand Central Station.
    I had my internship at N.Y.A.H...
    This brings back memories and lots of good friends and times.. I remember the bar car... Once again thank you.. Dr

    To have the time and patience to do all of these Metro-North trips, I mean, wow, it's really amazing. I genuinely mean that. This is the type of content that shows me that my subscription to this channel is worth it. I feel bad that I didn't subscribe to this channel sooner.
    Also, I think it's just me that feels this way, but I appreicate the shakiness in the camera. It makes the video feel more genuine and it shows that not everything is 100% perfect and that's okay. When people try too hard to be perfect, I feel that it could diminish the quaility of the product. I think it's also relatable, as when I record, my film is shaky too.
    Finally, since trips to White Plains and Southeast were done, could there be a trip to Wassaic looming in the distance?

    Nice video of heading north on the tracks. I think it would be nice to to see all of the tracks, and the amount of switching required to get the train out of G C . I would like to see front window when you were leaving GC. Thanks for the ride!

    PLEASE do a trip on the Hudson Line!

  • @frankdurham51

    As someone who is a big LIRR fan, due to where I grew up.. After riding Metro-North on both the Hudson and New Haven lines, the Metro-North as a whole move people faster and have far less speed restrictions than LIRR. There was a time the LIRR would haul ass.. Now only on certain sections...

    • @armorpro573
      @armorpro573 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haven't they improved speed restrictions since two years ago?

    • @frankdurham51
      @frankdurham51 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@armorpro573 they say they have. last time i rode, i took my son out to babylon to one of the diesel runs. from jamaica to lynbrook, was very pedestrian. maybe 60-65. from Rockville through freeport, through bellmore to babylon, it was moving 75. Subway slowed down as well

    Is there a reason why the trains switched sides at around 35:00?

    • @RogerBates7
      @RogerBates7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do that all the time with Metro North trains. Probably because they were on approach to White Plains and their schedule dictated that was the track they needed to use going North to Southeast.

    • @davidthaler7018
      @davidthaler7018 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RogerBates7Oct 1, 2021 was a Friday and this train reached White Plains around 3:50 pm. You’d almost think there’d be a scheduled southbound train headed for GCT in time for the evening commute, but apparently not.
      Edit: I stand corrected. En route to Valhalla, there was a wrong-railing southbound train. This northbound train switched back again just before Pleasantville and there were several more southbound trains.

    #NowPlaying: J. Cole - "False Prophets", The Game/Common/Kanye West - "Jesus Piece", Richie Evans/Rick Ross/Vedo - "Can't Knock The Hustle", Roddy Ricch/DJ Mustard - "High Fashion" & Busta Rhymes/DJ Scratch - "Wheel Of Fortune" ...this n***a Officially Ice from "Sonic The Hedgehog '06" fame & those Vellas from @MTV have one f'n thing in common Crafty - all of you that I just mentioned received a lifetime ban from not just this line I'm gonna talk about here, but also the whole MTA & the neighborhoods they run in...SMH...I totally expected that shhh! from the guys but the female women, though? They really got down & busy, it seems...SMH...so I guess that means no more shout-outs 2 me from you guys? (LOL!) SMH once more...wow...anyways, this is the Harlem Line of the Metro-North Railroad, the only line in the whole Metro-North that's owned exclusively by them and not by other Transit agencies like Amtrak, CT Rail & NJ Transit...there's two parts to this line: the electrified portion that runs btwn. Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, NYC & the town of Southeast in Brewster, upstate NY and the diesel portion btwn. the station I just mentioned & the Harlem Valley Rail Trail in Wassaic...very rarely does a train travel the full route [and it's usually the one w/ the diesel locomotive in the front or the back if it's going in the reverse direction], usually electric trains like the M3As & M7As run the main route (or a fixed portion if the schedule dictates it...these are usually the local trains) while the diesel trains cover the rest of the route...sights to see on the Harlem Line include the downtown mini-Metropolis of White Plains, the towns of Valhalla, Hawthrone [SMH...LOL! That explains everything about a certain somebody...SMH...a cemetery's nearby, you know], the public housing projects in Mount Kisco where there's like only one Bee-Line route serving the whole neighborhood every f'n hour or so & the Home Depot at the top of the hill in Southeast Brewster...SMH...she was so innocent & beautiful as well, man...SMH again...how did she go from suburban gutter know-it-all princess queen to straight-up thrash metal & sometimes Hip-Hop hoodrat/bad b***h overall...SMH for the 3rd time while I'm writing this portion of the lesson...no wonder why she & her homies couldn't speak to me properly, especially that one high on drugs who asked for sausage in the 10th aisle of a supermarket I'm not mentioning here...and then she switched to commercial call-girl mode as opposed to talking about what happened there...buy anyways, you won't be seeing them on this line ever again, and that's very unfortunate...for the rest of y'all, think before you do, the ppl. around you will take notice...and that'll conclude this particular history lesson for the time being...peace out FRESH, everybody!
