You're still a beast tossing it up like that. I nearly broke my back putting it up on my own getting the shrouds caught on everything last week on our '77
I always kick mine off in grass & stepped the mast on the ground either cam lock to tree of front hull strap to hold it up while got it pinned because was always by myself ( 90% ) of time alot easier & safer 2 feet off the ground verses 6-8 ft off the ground removing the trailer is alot less pain in the rear I dont think it ever failed that you get your side stays hung up some where about half way thru & then back down you go then swing it around & point it into the wind get the main up but then again I worked Sailboat Dealer and or Marina I could step & raise up to about a 24 ft boat by my self when you do stuff like that all day every day you will come up with pretty nifty shortcuts/hacks but like you I start out doing this way & right you can snap that mast step , Roll Tide
Awesome video. Thank you for letting me know you posted it. I am a disabled vet and I have a 15 foot Snipe and I have problems stepping the mast alone. The Cat seems to make it much easier because of the hinge pin at the base of the mast. I love your dog as well. I am guessing he/she sails with you. Thanks again and happy sailing.
Excellent video, really helpful. Glad to hear Yoda sails now and then.

Yoda sails with me whenever the wind is not too strong to lift the hull.
So your blue line is attached to the main sheet halyard?
Thank you!! Extremely helpful!!!
Is it just the camera angle or do you have a major rake to your mast?
That is a major rake but only until I get the jib tight.
