Just acquired an old hobie and these are great directions. There are a few variants out there, hard to find old stuff.

You can tie a rope to the front mast cradle bar on trailer and using a locking strap, wrap it around the mast to hold it up while you attach the forstay.

I don't understand exactly how he is rigging the halyard while stepping the mast. How does he release the tension?

tiller prop moves the rudders to steer.

Im thinking about getting a Hobie 16, looks like a lot to learn just in setting one of these sail boats up, let alone learning to sail one !!!! maybe ill just buy a ski boat!!!! LOL
